Hi guys. I've noticed that Manishearth has gotten into the habit of answering with "My (unofficial) verdict: status-declined" adding the tag in the answer. Here for example. Is it just me or is that annoying/confusing? Even if the official answer would most likely go in that direction.

@David: I doubt he even knows any PHP. I've flagged it for a moderator, considering his other question was also closed. It's way out there.

@bar - I guess its his own style of posting an answer...

Though, to be fair, most PHP developers don't know any PHP.

And its 100% valid

Otherwise they wouldn't allow you to even place those in your markup...

@Lix I realize that, but what's wrong with a "I personally don't agree. And it has been discussed before here, here and here" or something of that sort? I realize it's a nitpick and perhaps a new pet peeve, but it makes his answers seem more authoritative at first glance than they really are

hehe - that is true :) They do look slightly official even though the first words you read is "this is not official" :P

My old eyes are easily confused by tags and badges. :)

@Bart Honestly, that kind of gets on my nerves. But there's nothing stopping him from doing it. He did it on one my questions just the other day

And he means well =) He hangs out in here and is a rather nice dude.

@jadarnel27 Oh, I don't assume there is any bad intent on his part. And I even agree most of the time. But something about it annoys me to a point where I thought of editing it out.

Perhaps I could simply comment on one of those, asking him to reconsider
