The question is, why do you care how much rep they generate? How about 50k+ users that really have no business with the amount of rep they have? (and regularly post poor&/**wrong** answers that get deleted)
It's easy - all you need to do is be on SO/SE sites long enough, a regular joe bloggs with a modicum of skills can garner a very high rep. There are as many (or few) of those as high-rep question askers. It's a matter of balance in discrimination
I noticed a number of [sofaq] tagged questions on SO. It seems that by definition these should be on meta, yet many of them haven't been migrated. Since there's no ambiguity I propose they should be migrated en masse.

i went through the entire list of [stackoverflow] (at the time) and retagged ~80 questions to [stackoverflow.com] to differentiate questions about stackoverflows from questions about StackOverflow

Is there a super-duper-incredibly-painless-don't-make-me-think method to get a google map of a list of locations? I don't need it to be ongoing dynamic and this isn't for a site or anything, I just have a list of locations and I want to see a 1-time map. I basically just want to paste in a list somewhere.
@RebeccaChernoff Well, if you have this little Firefox add-on called Ubiquity... joking of course. Can't you just enter a comma separated list into the search box?

I'm curious now that the reputation tab looks, basically like the /reputation page, is that page going to be removed and its features (recalc button, etc.) moved to the profile?
@YiJiang we are going to reduce some of the noise there, personally I do not think we really want to display more than 2 weeks of rep changes on a screen, it gets way too noisy
also I much preferred the old block display for dates and rep, we will probably bring that back is some form
I think /reputation will stay ... the idea with the rep tab is to show you "what just happened to my reps"
@TimPost Depending on your definition of 'fail'... I suspect that by their definition this is very much success (which is fail in itself, I guess. So you're right)
I had an idea, what if we displayed a tiny icon to the right of your reputation number in the header, that indicated that your reputation changed since the last time you visited the reputation tab in users, thought? waffles?
@waffles Well, it just doesn't make sense - what purpose would it serve? And with the hover popup right now, someone could just 'well, I'll try clicking on that...' then accidentally reset the counter
@YiJiang but clicking on it would take you to the rep page and show you how you were awesome, mission accomplished
@Benjol I have thought of this quite a lot, envelope had the problem it was letting you know about stuff the multicollider did, so you were getting double notified
this would mean there are 2 types of notifications you get ... global comments and answers -> from the collider.... local -> good behavior from the other place
badges already have a very loud notification so we don't need to notify
notifying on fav changes in the header feels a bit like an overkill for me
but training 10-500 rep users ... hey you did something good -> look here ... is kind of critical to the way the site works

@waffles Badges; the notifications are so prominent it's impossible to ignore, and at the start almost anything you do will get you a cookie (ahem, badge) handed to you
@YiJiang but badges are so rare ... as a high rep user I thing a reasonable notification policy would be "show icon if user did not visit the reputation tab in the last 24 hours ... or something"

@badpssockpuppet I don't see the need for that; what do you need to use in the top bar that's so frequently accessed that you can't just scroll to the top to use it?
IMHO it's not too obnoxious (if you blink you'll miss it), but visible enough (there's a few animations)... just you can't see it if you're not right at the top of the page, and staying there after a minute
