But as @RebeccaChernoff points out, it takes just a few minutes. The most annoying thing is having to wash my hands after handling the bacon.

@RebeccaChernoff There's no such thing as a quick recipe involving bacon. No matter how long it takes, it's taking too long.
I mean... bacon!

Anyway, enough procrastination. I'm off to eat. :)
@PopularDemand BACON!

So many SE tabs open...I should probably think about maybe answering some of these questions.

@TimStone ready, set, go!

I already have questions that need answering, that's why the tabs are open! ;)
I was going to say that an instant 10K on WebApps would be cool nevertheless, but then I realized that there's likely not enough questions for that. ;)

12:05 AM
Also, did anyone have any strong opinions regarding the keyboard shortcut format? Kinda feel like that discussion sputtered out. ):

I had an opinion, but that was about it from me.

@TimStone 248 questions with no answers! (;

Is the bold questions in the envelope thing a new feature, or have I just been blind to it until now?
@RebeccaChernoff As a rule of thumb, my opinion is "don't need no fancy keyboard shortcuts."

@PopularDemand I need FHC
Because I'm unsure what you're referring to.

@PopularDemand Your opinion is wrong!

12:07 AM
@TimStone Blah, too lazy. Go to Web Apps, click the notification envelope and look at rep on questions and answers. The questions should show up in bigger, bolder text.

Oh, I'm not a member there.

@RebeccaChernoff Hahahah. I'm not a big web apps user, though! I suppose your answer will be to sign up anyway? ;)

Hm, you can't see Photography's bullet well in the footer on WA due to the closeness in colour, for shame! /blame @Jin
Likewise for Gaming, on its own footer, heh.
Over-analytical? A bit.
@RebeccaChernoff I went ahead and signed up. If nothing else, I can lurk, hahah.

12:22 AM
Hehe. Anyways, my answer would be not to sign up pointlessly, but to embrace the modern era and use web applications just like everyone else. q:

...which I'd be motivated to do through the exposure to material I'd see if I were an active WA user, I see how this works. :P

Forget Web Apps. Join Gaming. We're more fun.

I've even answered a question there. ;)

Ahha! See? You're already a fit there. ♪

@TimStone They implemented WOC (Wheel of Chat)!!!

@RebeccaChernoff Fine, but the URL I initially entered was chat.gaming.stackexchange.com.
They... should probably do something about that.

Well, it isn't like there's a UI for clicking the site you want instead of forcing you to manually edit the url... (;

@RebeccaChernoff I think he means that he went to that URL and was redirected to the wrong list of rooms.

@RebeccaChernoff It's possible that I'm overly picky. That, and I thought you should mention something if you find a good place to get computer work -suitable desks from, hahah.

@TimStone My computer table has a glass surface, and it's fine except for the fact that the mouse doesn't track on it

@YiJiang I'm tired of the glass getting all smudgy and such.

@TimStone Sumdges, not so much. And I really like how nice the table looks

My desk surface is a speckled gray. Kinda like wanna be fine grained granite. Except, under the mouse, where it's more like a slate gray.

Then again, my desk is kind of small with only one 19". The rest of the space is taken up with junk and a laser printer

@RebeccaChernoff I like my largish corner desk. It works well for me, lots of room and two wings provide surfaces close-at-hand.

I've got separate shelving that my printer is on. No chance of it fitting on my desk, ha. I have my 23" monitor slanted in one corner, then the keyboard, then the mouse. I've got a cordless phone on it and things are crammed.

It's definitely nicer than Wave and easier to use.
Didn't work

Browser?

@TylerChacha - Nvmnd,
it changed, but a bit of feedback would be better UX.

No hover effect of click/selection or active visual feedback...
You should make some sort of hover effect and an outline while you're editing.

i figured the cursor would be enough, but I can add some more

4:36 AM
The cursor is never enough.

like on the posts?

yep, like on the post.
I didn't mean that like a cliche, but the cursor is often ignore, or doesn't have a big enough feedback target.
Also, @TylerChacha, the summary on the sidebar is too wide for the sidebar, text is cut off on the right.
Safari for Mac OS X.
Looks promising. Needs a slightly better UI, although I love the simplicity.
Also, some features are naturally missing, but it's good.
Wave required a login and then a long wait until everyone loaded.
If you integrate OpenID and use jQuery/AJAx, you'll do better.
I'm sure CNET has had some write-ups on Wave which you can read to get some ideas of why it failed and how to capitalize on their mistakes.
G'luck!
@TheUnhandledException - ping.

It really isn't a wave killer..

@TylerChacha - But it's really nice.
Really.
How would you describe it then?

4:40 AM
Elevator Pitch, please.
And, note that Triton was the codename for AIM Messenger, I think 7.x, I'm not sure.

A note taking application that uses HTML5 to provide easy access to your notes whether you are online or off.
that just came off the top of my head .. but yeah

Oh, Ok, cool.
Planning an iOS app? I can help with that. Unless you specifically want it to be HTML5 only.

I haven't really delved into collaboration yet..
Well, the idea is that it syncs with a server
You store your data on your computer (localStorage) and when you are online it syncs

I'd advise looking into keyboard shortcuts. (As was mentioned here earlier in regards to SO.)
Cool. I wonder if you can make it compatible with Apple's native notes app for iOS.

Ctrl + B, Ctrl + I, Ctrl + Enter (While editing), N (While not)

4:42 AM

oh

someone just added them in a day ago

@TylerChacha - They don't work on Mac, unless I'm doing something wrong.

not tested on Mac, correct

Also, who own 102content.com, that yours?

yes
chacha102.com, 102content.com, tylercarter.org

4:45 AM
If you want sporadic testing on Mac, Windows or Linux, lemme know, I can do, often.
I'm usually on Mac, but I still have 2 PCs and Linux in a VM.
More on the way, stay tuned!
:-)

I have a Macbook so I can do the basic testing (making sure keybinds work), but definitely more extensive testing

Ok, cool, but I'm available if needed.

yep :)

You have any iOS devices?

iPod
the problem with an iOS device is that generally you don't want to type on those things
an iPad maybe..

4:47 AM
iPad

but the rest are better suited for free form notes

Not necessarily.
And that does not mean you should abandon the mobile market.

well, read would be one way

I have over 100 notes, typed in the last 200 or so days, since I got my first iOS device (iPod touch)
Yes, that was Google's approach for Google Docs, dunno if they changed that yet to write access as well.
I do have an iPad too, btw. I can test on that.

BTW, click the logo

4:49 AM
did, nice jQuery.

jQuery, right? (Didn't view source.)

I'm still trying to figure out how to make that more obvious..
Yes

Perhaps a little icon next to it, or a hover effect.
But the overview column is too wide for the blue column, it is cut off on the right side.
Perhaps you can put a "documents" button underneath the logo.
Or some indicator on the right, next to the logo.
@TylerChacha The left column is cut off because I shrunk the browser, the right column is like that in fullscreen, cut off.

yeah sec let me push out my fix

4:55 AM

tsk tsk @RebeccaChernoff, that seems like a very scheming reply, hahah.
