n ^ 3 is not equivalent to n in programming. You can prove this by calling (2 ^ 3) and noticing that it is not 2.
If you wanted to prove that ℕ3 and ℕ have the same cardinality you should find a bijective function between them, but this is not a programming question and belongs instead on http:/...
I have 3 questions about using ASP.Net security and Membership in web applications
1-do people outside localhost by any means have access to asp.net security control panel
2-what is the best way to edit security, is it by opening the website through VS-2010 and editing security , or there is an...
I would but it hurts my brain to rewrite questions that obviously demonstrate a distinct lack of ability to understand the fundamentals of web architecture before working on web applications.
If I were gonna build a house I would start by learning what a hammer and nail were, and why a 2x4 is NOT 16 inches by 31 inches.
I'm not entirely sure I understand either, but I'm very glad I'm not a gui-designer programmer. All those people who think that the only way to design is with a mouse...
I'd like to attempt to make an iPhone app using HTML, CSS, javscript and an appropriate iPhone Simulator or converter for Windows, like appcelerator.
I have a friend with xcode and an iPhone if I get something working.
Should this work?
What kind of problems should I expect?
What tools ...

Does Javascript supports Sets(list with unique objects only) ?
I have found this link, but from what I remember foreach in JS in not supported by every browser.
Planaria are non-parasitic flatworms of the biological family Planariidae, belonging to the order Seriata. Planaria are common to many parts of the world, living in both saltwater and freshwater ponds and rivers. Some species are terrestrial and are found under logs, in or on the soil, and on plants in humid areas.
These animals move by beating cilia on the ventral dermis, allowing them to glide along on a film of mucus. Some move by undulations of the whole body by the contractions of muscles built into the body membrane.
They exhibit an extraordinary ability to regenerate lost body p...
Interesting, OB doesn't jump to the hashed section, what a shame
> Congratulations -- you are one of the top new Unix and Linux - Stack Exchange users for the week of Dec 20 2010!
The "top new user" e-mails* are actually distinct from the StackExchange.com leagues.
The major distinction is that only new users can get those e-mails. Your account on Writers is 6 days old, so you were eligible for the weekly e-mail. You'll always be eligible to appear in the week league, r...
I thought he already told us where he lived, or are we being mum on that point? Besides, I remember the information I already learned ... mwahahahah- coughwheezehack
Thirdly, they've spent years building that product, and SOIS has spent years building this product, and there's no justifiable business reason to migrate from one to the other.
The search <input> element appears not have any background-color property set to it. This, at least in Firefox 3.6 on Ubuntu, causes the input element to default to a white background, which is quite ugly:
Setting the background color to transparent fixes this. Also, the tag anchor appe...
@TimStone It's weird that these two bugs escaped testing - the tag misalignment one only appears on Firefox I think but the search on appears on Chrome too and is pretty darn obvious
Sadly I have no clue what I did last Monday. Email not exactly spawning any rememberances either ... I should really keep my timesheet a little more frequently than the end of the month D: ... oh, now I remember, I was trying to recover from accidentally erasing all the sprocs which weren't in source control D:
I just saw those as images, but I like 'em. Do you want them to be easily accessible over a touch interface? If so, leave 'em large. Else (meaning you probably have your own CSS stylesheet for mobile browsers) pull em down
I don't think I can put "chatted in MSO for 5 hours" on my timesheet, plus, I do get things done during most of the day even when I'm in here. Just need to be able to put what I did that day.
@TimStone I know, right? It's like this is the place I come to let my brain ruminate on what needs to be done. I can leave here and go turn out like 100 lines of [good | useful | correct] code or I can sit not-here and spend the same amount of time on the same amount of code.
@TylerChacha so you just lost the links altogether? I liked 'em, they broke up the page. meh. Not my site. Speaking of, I should really start to think about a personal site ...
Ok, I have 8+ hours per day, for all work-days-in-month to date, for productive actual work per day. And people wonder why I'm at work for 10 hours a day ;)
The biggest thing is that I have a network of sites, and none of those sites link between each other
Also, if you go to my blog, the only thing you see is the latest blog post and my Twitter updates. You should at least see a list of recent blog posts/shares
@TylerChacha I got the beatles box set for iTunes for xmas :D
Is it wrong that I have a method in a class that's 3000 lines long that stores a sample XML doc as a string so I can return it without having to hit the filesystem? (the last 3259 lines are sample value return methods)
Quite literally: const string S = @" and then it begins the XML string.
Once, a long, long time ago, JavaScript did have its very own XOR operator: it was @@. You could write:
if (isValid() @@ isTestMode()) {
// only when "is not valid" and "test mode" or "is valid" and "is not test mode"
}
JavaScript was very proud of its XOR operator, so proud that it strutte...
> JavaScript was very proud of its XOR operator, so proud that it strutted, chin held high and chest puffed out, back and forth along the sidewalk where its older friends C and Java were chatting over coffee and hazelnut biscotti
oh lovely ... we're going to deploy this system to the customer site, but we'll not actually customize the deployment ... WTF? FFS!!! No wonder the shit doesn't work
> < neonmeate> so, i lost the images for this calibration program; in order to get it to complain about the missing images, i substituted my own from windows 7's included samples
> < neonmeate> so, instead of displaying the connection between the active head and a channel on a digitizer, it displays: a jellyfish when i need to put the active head on channel 0, a koala when it needs to be on channel 1, and penguins for the trigger channel
I would like my iPad to connect to the internet via a bluetooth modem (in this particular case, a Samsung Omnia with a more convenient pricing plan.)
The iPad has been bought full price and thus should be carrier unlocked. However, when I go Settings → Bluetooth and tap on the device name, the o...
if it were a pair of speakers, or a headset, or a keyboard, you'd have more than 1 option.
the same problem exists on a lot of verizon phones (and everyone else im sure) where they wont let you connect certain devices or use features they offer as a pay service
@radp What's lazy about it, though?... using a wifi network app is better in my opinion.
So while yes it does suck that you can't really find too many micro-sims, the fact that they are using the 12 year old form factor really can't be blamed too much on Apple. I mean, yeah they made a design decision, but otherwise ... it was not like they commissioned it
But so the point being, the damned micro-sim, for all it's uselessness to us, is still a valid decision by Apple. They probably needed to find as small of one as they could use so as to keep as much room internally as possible.
It would make sense if they were trying to contain it under the bezel as much as possible, and that that might be part of the reason for the bezel width
Who do you use as a registrar? I have some domains on a shared host, and I'm going to eventually move my sites over to my Rackspace Cloud server (so it's doing more than sitting idle)...GoDaddy's whole ...approach to business annoys me, but it seems to be what most people use. :P
Ah ha. For whatever reason, I'm just really put off by their trying so hard to make domain name purchasing "sexy" or whatever the hell the message is supposed to be. :P
I reason that a) I don't like the ads, and b) if they have to appeal to the lowest common denominator (thinking pre-Danica Patrick here) then maybe they aren't so great.
Go Daddy is an Internet domain registrar and Web hosting company that also sells e-business related software and services. In 2010, it reached more than 40 million domain names under management. Go Daddy is currently the largest ICANN-accredited registrar in the world, and is four times the size of its closest competitor.
Known for its racy marketing, Go Daddy started advertising in the Super Bowl in 2005. Since then, the company expanded its marketing to include sports sponsorships.
Go Daddy filed for an IPO in 2006, but later cancelled it, due to "market uncertainties."

in fact their service is TOO good... how many times has a company just randomly called you asking how everything's going with your site and if there's anything they can do to help?
I'm annoyed by these calls sometimes, depending on where I am, but I can't complain..
Proposed Q&A site for people seeking answers to questions about dating, long term relationships, love, marriage or other commitments, and everything else typically considered a "relationship". (Intended to encompass the Love and Dating sites and extend them.)
Also, if you can figure out how to get them to open up in return, that would be great. We're in the process of moving, and I need someone to be at the old house about an hour's drive from here, and my wife refuses, and says "I won't go, that's all you need to know" and is being very tight lipped about what's in her head. I wish she would just say "I'm scared of ___________". It's causing _me grief to have an even more flummoxed work schedule just because she "won't"
@Fosco well I have, and broke things off to boot at the same time. You just say "you're acting like a fucking child, I can't deal with it, get lost" ... well, that worked in my situation, for what it was worth at the time.
Now, some people have a smaller amount of grey matter in the right anterior prefrontal cortex, and are physiologically incapable of the same level of deep introspection as you. But with enough time, you should be able to at least write a letter that lays it out without being overly cruel.
@Fosco I don't know you at all, but when people say that the problem is that they're too nice... right in the middle of asking for advice about breaking up... well...
