My alma mater got rid of wired connections this year.

You can still request the ports in your room be turned on, but by default everyone's wireless-only.

@PopularDemand Nice. We didn't have that kind of signal coverage, for some reason, despite our campus being very small.

Of course, this was taken care of by the same IT department who purchased course registration software that included non-authenticated users in its "maximum concurrent users" limit..

It's interesting how much longer it takes for everyone to register when the people who actually managed to log in can't get their requests processed because the system tells them that too many people are on at once, heh.
