Just trying to see how to replicate the problem. It seems that if you update your profile on one site and then copy it across, the meta sites don't sync.
When I signed up for the Gaming SE, my account was auto-associated with my SOFU/MSO accounts. On SOFU, my name is Lord Torgamus; on MSO, it's Popular Demand. The auto-association process chose to use Popular Demand to populate my Gaming profile. (I'm not sure how MSO was chosen; that's the top...
@balpha, sort-of feature request. I'd quite like some way of switching to a not-yet-joined room, without having to open an extra tab with "all rooms". How about something like changing "other rooms your in" to "favourite rooms" and having switch|leave links for the ones your in and join|peek for the others?
@balpha, well, maybe it's just me, but there's something psychological about 'joining' a room just to see if anyone's said anything interesting. it feels "expensive"
Sometimes I just want to "peek", before I decide whether to join. Maybe it's the "loading" wait screen or something.
What I want to be able to see is whether a room is worth visiting, without having to go to "all rooms". so that could be an excerpt from the transpcript, or just some indication of when the last activity was, and how many people are active there
@balpha, there's probably some clever algorithm to work out, but I'd like to know how many users are chatting right now in a my favourite rooms, (where 'right now' has a suitably fuzzy definition)
@balpha, yeah, I know, but I'd like that number in this page, so I don't have to keep an extra "all rooms" tab open, just to see what's going on. Maybe I'm asking too much..., and too vaguely
@balpha When you quickly flag and unflag a message, you get the "You can perform this action again in 1 second" message. However, the message appears unflagged to you.
To notice that the flag has remained, you have to refresh the page.
Mostly I like it because it reminds me of Race for the Galaxy cards. And whenever possible I make UI decisions based on which looks more like Race for the Galaxy
@balpha I have a feature request... I think. When I'm going through a long list of replies because I've been away from my desk for a bit. I finish going through them, and I still end up in the middle of the chat.
Is there anyway to have the next click send you back to the bottom?
@balpha I was spamming "@badp Test", and after five lines of that I couldn't get a sixth line to appear, it would send, appear for a second, and then disappear
I can't get this feature to work: "A mention will also cause your avatar to bounce up and down, as if it's positively bursting with excitement. To stop the bouncing, click on the avatar, enter a message in the chat, or simply press esc."
