Oh, hmm, I don't remember the exact details, but I think yesterday I discovered that if you get nick alerted, and then that message is edited to remove the alert, or deleted entirely...the nick alert stays

I think if someone mentions your name in a comment, it should remain permanently visible to you. Also, you should get one free kick. A real one, not this wimpy "chat kick". Mandate that chat users install feet and legs on their PCs.
