@DannyBeckett - I have long thought that uploaded images should go to a "drafts" bucket (that is periodically purged) until the post is actually submitted, when the image can be moved to the "always available" bucket. However that would potentially lock out users who use the post uploader just to get a link to share in the comments. — Robotnik 33 secs ago

I'll take "What is Idempotency?" for 100. If a browser initiates an action, it should attach a token to it. Then if it receives an action, it should check whether the action id already exists locally (i.e. has already occurred). If it does, then it ignores it without further processing. — Robotnik 55 secs ago

Please take the Stack Overflow tour and read How do I ask a good question? before trying to post more questions on Stack Overflow. If you run into an automated barrier like this, it should not be a big problem. If you really can't think of a good way to phrase the question that doesn't run into the posting problem, this is because you haven't thought about the question enough yet. — Karl Knechtel just now
We don't do individual, "something happened that specifically affects me" support here. You need to contact the site staff instead - although this might be something that only Google can help you with. "Support" questions here are for understanding how to use the site's features. — Karl Knechtel 56 secs ago

You've posted an awful lot of personal information - do you want us to permanently remove it from this post? Otherwise spammers might pick it up and send you all kinds of unwanted email ... — Glorfindel ♦ 33 secs ago
This does not provide an answer to the question. Once you have sufficient reputation you will be able to comment on any post; instead, provide answers that don't require clarification from the asker. - From Review — CPlus 5 secs ago
@CPlus I deleted the other post, because it didn't look like it was Stack Exchange related. Only then I read this post. I didn't know a deletion would have that effect on closure flags :) — Glorfindel ♦ 29 secs ago

Hi D M, welcome to the Stack Exchange Network Meta site! I'm not sure which search brought you here but the problem you describe will not be answered on this specific site. To get an expert's answer for the topic of your question you'll have to find and then re-post on the proper site. Check How do I ask a good question and What is on topic on the target site to make sure your post is in good shape. Your question is definitely off-topic on Meta and is better deleted here. — rene 1 min ago

I'm not aware of any Stack Exchange sites where necro-posting is banned. It is always perfectly acceptable to answers questions years after they were posted, as long as you're not merely repeating what's stated in the existing answers. Can you provide examples of occasions where where you believe necro-posts have been deleted by moderators, for no reason other than because they were necro-posts? — F1Krazy 59 secs ago

There is still an issue with the session lifetime. Why it keep me logout afair the session lasted for one year but now it logout from StackOverflow after 2-3 days? — Sachin Kumar just now
Necro-posting is just not banned on Stack Exchange. If a question should be locked because it is no longer possible to receive applicable answers, it probably should have been closed in the first place, as part of regular curation. — Nij 19 secs ago

@Timothy no it is not a duplicate, as the answer there says "This is now status-completed (though I'm not sure when it has been implemented exactly); it's possible to upvote (and flag) comments in all review queues" and that's not true in the case here. If it was still open then it could still be duplicate of course, but it's closed. So better leave this report open so a developer has a chance to take a look. — Shadow Wizard Love Zelda 19 secs ago
Please check if you get same errors as those here, if you do, it's a duplicate, let me know. — Shadow Wizard Love Zelda 46 secs ago

Yep, I can confirm the same thing in Mac OS 14.4.1, Firefox 124.0.1. Specifically, it seems like the usercard starts to expand, but then that immediately causes it to revert to normal (and that process continually repeats as long as my mouse is over the profile picture). I'm guessing something about the expanded state of the usercard is causing the site to think I'm no longer hovering over the profile picture, so it reverts. — V2Blast 11 secs ago

I asked for a view, not a stored procedure. So -1 from me. All kidding aside: This is a great extension and helpful to improve existing and feature queries where data analysis across sites is needed. I also think this new stored procedure opens cross-site query-ing for users that found the previous methods above their capabilities. — rene 5 secs ago

Questions and answers on Stack Exchange (SE) must be self-contained. The goal of SO/SE is to create repositories of questions and answers valuable to future visitors. Questions and answers requiring off-page resources are useless once those resources change or die. Any questions where a resource is required to understand the question should be closed as "needs details of clarity", or other appropriate reason. Such "answers" should be deleted as NAA. Only information (e.g. code) in the post itself is considered. A link can be used for context, but not for required information. — Makyen just now

Necromancy: acceptable. Posting an answer years later that adds no new information: certainly frowned upon. The content of a late answer is critical to whether it’s acceptable or not. There’s even a “late answers” review queue to help curators go through those late answers to check whether they’re adding any new or valuable information — fyrepenguin 39 secs ago

You can make a version with the image inline using the site editor image button. That stores a permanent SE copy of the image as part of that version. Then edit to another version that just gives the link but removes the markup to put its image inline. However it is probably a bad idea to not have it inline; giving only a link is contrary to "straightforward" & clicking on a link is contrary to "short" & "simple". And readers will edit the post to put a relevant image back inline. Anyway what is "contains certain simplifications"? Do not link or inline images of text, give text as text. — philipxy 1 min ago
