@Andreasdetestscensorship I don't care on StackOverflow, but it's a legit issue on smaller networks. Rather not lose what's gained by having to shit bricks for votes... It's also much easier to tell who downvoted, which would already be public if it weren't not. — OverLordGoldDragon 38 secs ago

@JDB I did say featured. There's a night and day disconnect between those who frequent Metas and regular users, and both your references were viewed just by former. This'd be downvoted, closed, and deleted, and I'd probably get a (automated) question ban, for example. Still thanks for the links. — OverLordGoldDragon 25 secs ago

I believe there’s some disconnect between the intention of the policy and this reading of it. The policy isn’t about wrong answers, it’s about false, harmful, or misleading information that can lead to harm. While I could see a scenario of say, an incorrect math equation may cause mistimed traffic lights, that’s not the focus of the policy. It focuses on dealing with information that is designed to spread, inflame, and causes harm. Which is why we are planning to retain the decline reason for wrong answers. — Emerson ♦ 22 secs ago

@OverLordGoldDragon Well, you have enough reputation on SO to actually have a steady income which you can spend on downvotes. Not everyone does. — Andreas detests censorship 36 secs ago

@Andreasdetestscensorship Fair, I didn't consider those who like to evaluate answers but don't post much themselves (semi-lurkers). I figured if your rep's low, you're inactive - not true! — OverLordGoldDragon 42 secs ago

@Keelan FWIW voting age threshold is actually one of many mechanisms used by certain parties to ensure people who would vote against them don't vote — user253751 55 secs ago
