I will be waiting that the user who wrote this message to be banned in the same way as me, as per what I showed in the previous comment here: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/399216/… -for-chat-in-meta-chats-by-a-moderator#comment1332318_399218‌. — Marco 15 secs ago

@Marco That message is now in a Trashcan room. If you feel it violates the Code of Conduct and want it deleted, you can flag it as spam/offensive. If you feel a suspension is warranted, I'd advise either a custom moderator flag on MSE with context, like this post. Note that the usual point of suspensions is to fix problematic behavior, so "I got an unjustified suspension so that user should too" isn't an acceptable reason. — cocomac just now

If you are seeking recourse if a mod wrongly suspended you/didn't suspend someone else, this page is for that. If you are unhappy with what we on Meta can do and raise a custom moderator flag (on MSE with context not chat) and that doesn't satisfy you, the next step may be contacting SE. At this point, I'd gently encourage you to wait until tomorrow, and if you're still annoyed, politely raise a custom flag appealing the suspension. Waiting a week and coming back after that wouldn't be terrible, though. — cocomac 11 secs ago

@Kevin doesn't sound difficult to hack together. Ex. initiating browsing context generates a random number and saves it to a session cache, sends to server with the rest of the request, server response copies that number, if the receiving browsing context knows that number, blah blah. there's probably a smarter way, but it wasn't hard to think of at least one. — starball 5 secs ago

querying PostHistory is probably better than Posts if you just want to pick up any "sign of life". It'll include community bumps, so even if the site is super dead, I assume there's still a better chance it'll have some movement every SEDE refresh. — starball 1 min ago

@starball That's true, but it won't give you the title (you'd have to join to get that). You could still get a link, but... for Stack Overflow I really think it will effectively be the same. Since we cut off at midnight now, we're really just looking for "was it updated this week?" vs. "was it updated right up until 23:59:59.997?" :-) — Aaron Bertrand 54 secs ago

@starball: Yes, that's called If-None-Match and it's multiple decades old at this point. The problem is to make it interact nicely with the JavaScript and wire everything up correctly. — Kevin 7 secs ago
[ Boson light ] New comment posted by starball
@Kevin not sure I follow. If-None-Match is a request header. Auto update on SE (to my understanding) is messages via websocket from server to client. — starball 36 secs ago
[ Boson light ] New comment posted by Kevin
@starball: Prior to WebSockets, you would be doing this via AJAX, and that would use HTTP headers such as If-None-Match. Unfortunately, it is apparently now necessary to reinvent the HTTP wheel atop WebSockets. — Kevin 12 secs ago

"I think that is dramatic anyone that think that saying "blabla" is offensive." No-one here has said that saying "blabla" is offensive, merely that it's rude, which it is. People were trying to engage with you in a civilized, intelligent debate, and you were shutting them down in an immature manner because (presumably) you didn't like what they were saying. That is rude. — F1Krazy 8 secs ago
[ Boson light ] New comment posted by F1Krazy
Regarding the other user, my understanding of the situation from reading through the answer and the comments is that they said it once, whereas you said it repeatedly even after being warned (hence the six-day suspension). For all we know, that user may well have been suspended too, but only an automatic 30-minute suspension for a validated chat flag. That would make sense: they broke the rules too, but they broke them less, and therefore (IMO) deserve a lesser punishment. — F1Krazy 10 secs ago

I'm afraid you have indeed posted this in the wrong place. This is Meta Stack Exchange, for questions about the Stack Exchange network itself. The correct place would be Stack Overflow, but this would be closed there too, as questions like "which is the best" are considered subjective and unanswerable. — F1Krazy 22 secs ago

Hi moon, welcome to the Stack Exchange Network Meta site! I'm not sure which search brought you here but the problem you describe will not be answered on this specific site. To get an expert's answer for the topic of your question you'll have to find and then re-post on the proper site. Check How do I ask a good question and What is on topic on the target site to make sure your post is in good shape. Your question is definitely off-topic on Meta and is better deleted here. — Brian61354270 41 secs ago

@Hman66 There were "issues" with your chat account. Basically, it appears there were areas where the data for your chat.SE was inaccurate/corrupted. While doing what is termed "refreshing" your account didn't resolve the issue, it appears that temporarily changing the site to which your chat account was parented and then changing it back to Meta Stack Exchange, as you had it set, appears to have resolved the issue. Please test it now to see if it's working. — Makyen 43 secs ago
