@rene I know, but that's related to chat stars and shouldn't be too much of a problem -- I've sent a ChatExchange pull request but Smokey would just restart when someone stars something.

Q: Windows 8/8.1 system clock changing randomly while powered on and in use

Milos IvanovicI cannot explain this any more clearly and it has literally driven me insane. A few weeks ago my netbook's Windows 8 system clock started changing randomly while it was powered on and being used, so after battling with it for days I gave in and changed the CMOS battery even though I was highly s...

@animuson Any chance such an old question could get migrated to SU? It has a bajillion views.

60 days ...

@Bart I know, but animuson is staff. If anyone can do it...

4:30 PM
Animuson can do ani-thing, that's true.

Eh, only have +16/+18 indicates that not a whole lot of those viewers are actually finding it useful.

Shog's said in a bunch of places lately that closure means "probably should be deleted", but that shouldn't be.

I imagine "clock stopped working windows 8.1" is probably a popular Google search that yields a lot of crap that nobody finds particularly helpful in their case.

@animuson I mean, that answer does have 18 upvotes. It helped some people, likely.

4:32 PM
That's 18 out of 40,000.

@animuson 18 out of % of 40,000 that have 15 rep on SO.

And again, this is one particular instance. The clock stopping in Windows can be caused by such a huge variety of things.
Mine stops working when Google Hangouts clogs up my CPU.

Can you easily search the number of people who have tried to upvote it but didn't have the rep? I forget which field that it is in SEDE

I'm not planning to do this, but what would happen if I used my association bonus to give a bounty and then deleted my account on that site? If I re-created the account, would I again have 101 rep and be able to award another bounty?

@JoshuaDwire Nicael, is that you?

4:34 PM
@JoshuaDwire You can't delete your own account if you started a bounty. And eventually the staff (me) would catch on. Especially since you just told me your plan. Mwuahahaha

> I suggest you x out of google chrome and log out of the computer
the retarded things at tech orientations in the room next to the library desk…

@animuson Makes sense. I was hoping it wouldn't be allowed but couldn't get the question out of my head.
@Bart ???

@JoshuaDwire It's a user on meta that tends to ask questions like these. @Bart's sense of humor flourished for a minute.

@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M I think you have to blow on it to keep it going.

@animuson Don't think so. Nicael is "frozen".

4:41 PM
@animuson 62 anonymous upvotes, 45 anonymous downvotes. (on the answer) shrug

@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M Don't remind me of that. Now I'm going to be thinking of nicael while I'm watching Once Upon a Time...

BWAHHAHHAHA
@durron597 I don't think @ani's anology works; that must mean the most viewed questions on each SE are the least useful ones.

I'm saying views isn't generally a good indicator of whether content is valuable. It could just mean it has common search terms that people search for on Google a lot.

@animuson It's a good indicator of whether the existence of the question is driving traffic to Stack Exchange

Driving traffic to us is only good if it actually helps them find an answer to their question.
Otherwise they just leave with the attitude "well that was a waste of time."

4:45 PM
@animuson Like I said, that answer probably helped a minimum of 62 anonymous people and didn't help 45 anonymous people, plus many others who didn't vote.
Oh, plus 18 people who have 15 rep on SO.

@durron597 It's migrated now.

@animuson Thanks!

People here don't seem to understand the depreciation of SHA-1. It's not because it's known to be insecure or anything; it's simply weaker than SHA-2 & people want to switch sites off of SHA-1 before there's any issue found with SHA-1.
