@SPArchaeologist I'm happy to discuss this whenever, but as you note it's gonna be really hard to change my opinion on this. If you or anyone else is serious about addressing these concerns, I'd appreciate it if you read through some of the (extensive) discussions that've been had on MSE first - otherwise, we're just repeating the same things that've already been covered ad nauseum.

I imagine the first buyers will be studios mostly... the interesting thing about it is that you can make effect in live that you could only do before by post-processing after the studio work.

for instance, there is also the gnome 3 shell.

although a Qt/KDE user using ratpoison here, so anything going beyond that is going beyond my league.
