Nice.

Always surprising what's on sale at Walmart, hahah. :P

1:22 AM
Heh.
I tend to be wary of buying produce at Walmart.

That's probably a legitimate concern, heh. I should probably be a little more concerned with all of the stuff I haphazardly introduce into my body.

Hello

2:32 AM
hey, whats up?

2:54 AM
Hi folks.

@Moshe hi!

3:56 AM
I figured out how to make a lexical parser that doesn't care about spaces
it was actually really simple...

@trufa sup?
is resisting the urge to code all night and is going to sleep

4:21 AM
@TimStone I wasn't even thinking about what may be in or on the produce, but the fact that much of it looks good yet lacks much taste.

4:40 AM
Hmm...I sure hope my keyboard isn't dying.

Hrm
why did I have to go through the suggested edits queue for a simple retag?
I already do have retagging privileges on Super User

Q: Retagging through suggested edits

JefromiI just saw (it's approved now) a suggested edit that appeared to just be retagging - adding two tags. The user who proposed it actually had enough rep to retag questions, but presumably didn't realize there was a hidden retag link by the tags, and simply clicked "edit". Perhaps suggested edits c...

Oh, I now see why. With 500 reps I get both edit and retag.

Why are all the "Unanswered" totals so high on SE sites (including Meta)?
Meta says "6249" in total, but only shows 143 pages of 15 questions each
(Which is a maximum of 2145 questions)
Other SE sites have this too
SO too

Q: "Unanswered" total is very high

Jan FabryThe total question indicator for the "Unanswered" tab is 2 to 3 times higher than the actual number of questions displayed (by multiplying the number of pages with questions per page). Some examples: Stack Overflow: 833,807 vs 292,100 (5842 pages of 50 questions) Meta Stack Overflow: 6,252 vs 2...

Hello All
@JanFabry Voted
@GeorgeMarian Hi did you give that any thought?

Despite the world's disdain of Apple's review system, the review team continues to impress me with quick review times and quicker follow up reviews. Review Team, have an upvote. +1

Wes
6:08 PM
@Moshe did you get those 50 points from that bounty?

@Wes Which bounty?

Wes
About delete notification

@Wes No. Link please?
Unless I just missed it.

Q: Notice of deletion

When something was deleted of yours, answers, comments, questions, Area 51 proposals, it would be nice to get some kind of notice other than just not being able to find it anymore. You receive notices for every other things that can be done to something of yours, and often relating to something o...

Oh, it seems I did.
Cool, thanks for pointing it out.
@Wes - What happened to that user though? It kind of disturbs me that there are questions with nonexistent user accounts behind them.

Wes
6:19 PM
Dunno deleted account?
There was a name before it was "Fixed"

Oh, ok.
Well, thanks.

Wes
No prob. The bounty was just to draw attention to the question. But shame to waste the points.
When the bounty period was up
ya know :p

Hehe, of course.
Submitting another maintenance release to Apple. Hooray for feedback from users who decide to rate low instead of emailing me to get a problem fixed...
Oh well, I guess that's what happens when I don't bother checking things carefully.

\O/ The Mets just worked out of a bases loaded no-out situation.
:-( And a fly ball caught at the track...
Meh.

Silly me. 1.5.1 is apparently a lower version number than 1.52.
Meh

Wes

@Moshe eh?

Hello

Wes
@TylerChacha hello

8:02 PM
any 10k users who can tell me why this question was deleted: stackoverflow.com/questions/5920197/…? thanks

Wes
@Andy you'd probably be better asking on one of the chatrooms on SO. Its a little quiet here at the moment.

@Andy I can tell you that it was deleted by Jeff (and no other delete votes). I can't tell you why.

Yeah, he didn't give a reason..

Wes
Is it the question yourself your intrested in @Andy?

Frankly, I'm quite confused by that deletion. The question seems perfectly fine (except for "but it doesn't work"...) and it already had two upvoted answers.

Wes
8:12 PM
It may be the askers poor acceptance history
Sorry answer history
And "If not possible, can you give me a way to do it, of course without doing delay ?"

Apparently it was cross-posted to electronics. shrugs

@Wes What's wrong with that sentence?
@RebeccaChernoff Ok, that explains it.

Wes
Okay fair enough. I'm not sure why crossposting should be enforced accross the stack exchange network. Especially as the sites have different target audiences

cross-posting and tailoring it to the individual audience is ok. duplicate cross-posting is bad.
and I have no clue on this question, just going off what I can see in the record.

Wes
If I cross post, between SE and somewhere else. I nearly always put a disclaimer that its a cross post anyway.

Wes
8:34 PM
Speaking on a related matter. Can I cross post or otherwise get this question migrated to DBA?

thanks everybody. I'd believe it was the cross posting, however the SO version was IMO better than the electronics version.
One question doesn't matter in the grand scheme, it's just a bit weird when I look over my recent activity and I feel like something's missing. I upvoted http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/80460/notice-of-deletion

Q: Why is this range based query so much quicker.

WesAt work we had a query on a table that had the following structure: ip_from(number), ip_to(number), country, city, state, isp, latitude, longitude. This table had approx 6.1 million rows. To find out the details for a given IP address we used a query like the following: SELECT * FROM Ip2l...

@Andy I've been trying to push that one too
@RebeccaChernoff is that reasonable?

Wes
8:57 PM
Anyone? Just telling me no is an acceptable answer too.
@sepp2k Sorry It just strikes me the same as labeling a question urgent.

@Wes I don't think he meant the answers should be without delay.

Wes
Ah I misunderstood it then

Q: What's the desired voting behaviour.

WesThis is related to the downvote on questions having no cost question. What's the desired voting behaviour? What's the best behaviour for the community? Do you want that every question/comment/answer we read we categorise in our heads into. Poor Average and Good and vote according? Do you want ...

@Wes Eh? Give what any thought?
