I guess I'm familiar with it because there are a lot of arabic communities and restaurants where I live; and "halal" is often used to describe permissible food.
@ShadowWizard Out of curiosity is there a Hebrew word for something that is generically acceptable under Jewish religious law, like Halal? Not just food.
@JasonC yes, actually it is. So, in trend, rather then actually sacrificing themselves, the muslims sacrifice a goat. This was something I read. Actually, I live in India and there are lot of communities here, so I know some things about many of them

@ShadowWizard by slowly, I meant, they don't kill goat in one go, like in one hit by knife, but rather they do it like we cut wood by saw, slicing again and again through it.
