@ClemensHimmer getting different fkeys and cookies is the expected behavior.
@ShadowWizard it is an attempt to create an API using screen scraping. So there is the bot part which uses that API, and is fairly separate from the API code.

@Dro @Dro why chain no fix u?
@AwalGarg yeah, meant you're not using SE API :)

@DroidDev yay!

@ShadowWizard that's what I used in that code

8:02 AM
@Sha yeah @Awal has a listener for that in the code, already know how to use that, but @Awal why is this behavious expected? i cannot do message requests with this fkey .. how do i actually send messages now?

8:16 AM
@ClemensHimmer I suggest you poke at the code of the sechatapi folder and understand how that works. It should be pretty easy.

@AwalGarg hmmm i'll try it i guess, hope i understand it today ^^

@NiKoLaPrO Actually, I rarely see Den as a quiet jungle.

@berserk I don't think you can possibly mix a japanese word with a hindi word and use it as a surname(which is the case, if what you are suggesting, is true)

10:33 AM
@ClemensHimmer so you sure @nef is not?
@IͶΔ oh, so you are in the Den longer than I thought... :)

@Sha I need to find a post that asked for a feature that posts be reviewed before being posted, but I can't find it for the life of me. HALP

@Sha any idea how i return the !err ?
var checkFilePath = function(filePath){
    fs.access(filePath, fs.F_OK, function(err) {
        return !err;
    });
};
checkFilePath("w/e") gives me undefined
i'm really confused, i actually never had to return something in a callback oO
oooooh good old asynch problems :)

11:08 AM
Where did @Sha go?

11:20 AM
@DroidDev well, it was samy written there, not sama

oh @TheDenBeast earned more rep on meta.SE than i did :o

lol bot surpassed the creator
reflects how it will be in the future with humans and robots

@berserk well actually the creator logged in as the bot surpassed the creator :)
yay no-one around atm at work, time for youtube vids :P

yeah, that's what humans think of robots. They actually think they are controlling the robots, but everything will be turned upside down soon

@ClemensHimmer No it's not. ಠ_ಠ

@berserk seriously if there is some guy that has the sheer brilliance to create AI so developed to enslave the entire human race we've already been at the been at the peak of human intelligence, gg it's over anyways
@IͶΔ if i actually worked and got paid properly yeah, but not for that kind of money :P

@IͶΔ learning to use MailChimp API with node.js - kind of like what @Clem is doing, just with official API. ;)
@berserk don't forget the whice mice...

12:05 PM
@ShadowWizard fuuuuuu official API = sexy af

@IͶΔ hmm... found only this. Maybe what you saw didn't get answers and got negative score, so auto deleted.

But that's about migration. :/

:/

@ClemensHimmer you can't. Need to use callbacks, e.g. change the method to this:
var checkFilePath = function(filePath, successCallback, failureCallback){
    fs.access(filePath, fs.F_OK, function(err) {
        if (err) {
            if (failureCallback) {
                    failureCallback(err);
            }
        } else {
            if (successCallback) {
                    successCallback();
            }
        }
    });
};

12:10 PM
:/
Damn! Train wreck.

Then use it like this:
checkFilePath("my cool path", function() {
    //success, hooray!
}, function(err) {
    console.log("error checking path: " + err.message);
});
@berserk for good cause, helping @Clem :D
You can also use Promise, it got all of those wrapped up nicely, @Clem

@berserk for good cause, helping @Clem :D

haha
I'm wracking all trains today

@berserk for good cause, helping @Clem :D
Damn, not again @Sha :/

@Uni is with Sharmin atm...

@berserk in a train?

yep, or maybe in the same box, and same room, and on same seat, and...

12:25 PM
@ShadowWizard i did that :)
var checkFilePath = function(filePath){
        return new Promise(function(resolve, reject) {
            fs.access(filePath, fs.F_OK, function(err) {
                if(!err){
                    // If FILE / DIR exists check if file or DIR
                    if(fs.lstatSync(filePath).isDirectory() == true){
                        resolve(false);
                    }
                    else{
                        resolve(true);
                    }

                }else{
                    resolve(false);
checkFilePath(filePath).then(function(value){
        console.log(value + " for " + filePath);
        if (value == true){
            serveFile(filePath);
        }
...

@Clem in case of error in fs.access you better have reject(err), then in the calling code you better handle this as well, not only the case when it succeeds. This way in case of error you'll just see nothing, with no clue what went wrong.

12:44 PM
@ShadowWizard hmmm
on what case?
and what should i do with is :S kinda confused about errors
@FOX9000 !delete!

@ClemensHimmer the .then() method accepts two function arguments: first is the success callback, which is what you have, and you can give it second function which is the error callback, which is called if reject() was used.
Exactly like the code I gave, just wrapped nicely.

2:10 PM
@ShadowWizard ah yeah just saw it too :)
btw, @Sha any chance you know express.js?
file serving now works, but .. well it's overriding my API ._.

@ClemensHimmer that's what I'm using, so can say I don't know anything other than that. :)
Doesn't @Awal lib require express?

@ShadowWizard okay sweet :D nah it's not his lib, it's what i'm working on

oh, cool

so my express app serves files now, but overrides the other routes
i guess i have to do some .. middleware magic?

@ClemensHimmer not sure what you mean, need more details...

2:20 PM
app.use("/", function (req, res) { ... file serve stuff}
app.get(APIpath + "data/:taskID/:dataIndex", function (req, res) { ... unreachable code}
do i have to use something like this i guess?
app.use("/", function (req, res, next)

@ClemensHimmer well, in my project we're using route - not my code there, but I can take a look.
The route is serving everything, it's not done directly in the app
Something like this:
var express = require('express');
var path = require('path');
var router = express.Router();
var roles = require('../roles');

router.get('/', function (req, res, next) {
    var permissions = roles.getPermissions(req);
    res.sendfile(path.join(__dirname, permissions.default, 'index.html'));
});

module.exports = router;
@Clem ^
That's route.js

@ShadowWizard i got it fixed, at least a bit i throw 404 like an idiot on some asset files, but API is back up
 var servePrettyHTML = function(filePath){
        checkFilePath(filePath).then(function(){
            serveFile(filePath);
        },function(err){
            if (err) console.log(err);
            // Check if .html for the path exists
            var plusHTMLPath = filePath +".html";

            checkFilePath(plusHTMLPath).then(function(){
                serveFile(plusHTMLPath);
            },function(err){
                if (err) console.log(err);
                // Check if path ends with a slash
it's the next(); :)

cool!
Anyway, to complete the code I posted, this is how it's used in app.js itself:
var client = require('./client/route');
app.use('/', client);

hmm okay you got it the routes exported to another file then?

@ClemensHimmer what do you mean?

2:36 PM
i just have one big js file and eveything's in there
i did not export anything ^^ and i'm guessing your routes are not in your executed js file?

@ClemensHimmer oh, so yeah guess it's not relevant for you, this is used to serve the different files as they are requested by a browser

@ShadowWizard okay different fie types and stuff? also my node server is now a web-server and a API server :)
apache can fuck off :P
if i now switch to mongodb it's all in one :ooo

yeah, but memory leak? Weird.

@ShadowWizard It's not. It's restarting so it behaves correctly.
@NiKoLaPrO Sending cross-site requests with browser JS is quite a pain because of CORS. As I said last time, there is a site that has CORS settings so you can request it, and you can use the query string of that site to pass a URL and that site would return you the content behind the URL without having you worry about CORS. But I don't remember the name of that site, so you'd have to look that up.
