Every so often I will get nostalgia and look at SE again only to be sharply and promptly reminded why I stopped visiting it a while ago and now only use SO extremely rarely to look up a specific way of doing a specific thing in a common programming language
Personally for home I have blackout curtains (the same ones) and a personal AC unit hooked up to a cable and a thermometer output that only turns on if it's over 23° in the part of my room where I sit
The office space my coworkers are in has 2 windows that face the midday sun, so before they got the curtains it was pretty nightmarish, but after they got them the curtains keep most of the heat out
There are specialized curtains you can affix directly to the inner window. Outwardly they look silver (made for reflecting sunlight) we use those in the office to great effect
I spent like 700€ on portable AC for my apartment, and it works wonders in the otherwise really heated apartment (top floor so it's always 2-3C warmer then ambient without cooling
BTW The 400 people who were arrested for booing the occupiers in cherson will likely be tried under russian law which puts 15 years in jail on protesting against the war or calling it a war (max)
I also very vividly remember that kid crying when the rocket hits the apartment block with his best friend's family in it and he sees the thing crumble in real time
