@djsmiley2k-CoW It's nothing to do with HK, nor is the comparison necessarily a good one at the top-level. But there's a ton of random small things which do line up well.
Over the last month, Stack Overflow has violated its own policies
and precedents to cause egregious and unnecessary harm to me -- to my
reputation (personal and professional), to my health, and to my safety.
This harm is significant and ongoing. It is past time for the company

Thus the difficulty of forcing the entire population to change their language. I don't mind if 100 years from now English has more pronouns than Japanese. But changing this needs to start at the school level when kids are still young and haven't passed the age of plasticity where native language acquisition becomes much more difficult.
@DavidA Same. The compulsory aspect of it is what rubbed me the wrong way. Generally my attitude is, "if it doesn't significantly affect me, I don't care". But the 1st FAQ requires me to change the very language that I grew up speaking in ways that's not natural or face consequences. (namely the neopronouns since they aren't usually taught in school or used in media) That's a bridge too far because it requires native speakers to actively break established habits.
FWIW, I consider myself pretty far left on the social political spectrum. But the stance implied by that 1st FAQ crossed the line - even for me. And the voting and commentary seems to suggest I'm not alone.
@Shog9 Was part of the reason to get a sample of where the population stands on the issue? Not sure if anybody expected it to be as lopsided as 1:5 on the voting.
@SecretAgentMan That thread is impressive. It started out kinda okay. But towards the end, it's basically a shouting match between two opposite extremes that will never reconcile. I've seen plenty of these lately, but this one takes it to a new level. Trying to take any sort of a middle ground will automatically offend both sides.
@LightnessRacesinOrbit My message notifications got reset when they did some inbox change. And since I do check my inbox, it stays at zero. So I only see the red icon when I haven't checked my SE inbox. But the green rep icon is still counting.
@Shog Small favor: Can you fix the link in my comment here: https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/334900/official-faq-on-gender-pronouns-and-code-of-conduct-changes#comment1099449_334900
Looks like it tries to jump to page 2, but the answer that it's under has been upvoted onto the 1st page - thereby breaking the link.
@TylerH Either way, it's just a technicality. The end result would've been the same anyway. Just was wondering if he was removed for one reason before the other became known.
@TravisJ I'm not sure the alternate account detection is entirely automated. There's probably some manual process in there before say Brad decides that the OP is being a jerk and diplomatically burns him/her on it with a straight face to everybody's amusement.
@PaulWhite Sounds like it might be a bug in the special case handling for mod comments? IIRC, if you don't have 10k, all comments on the deleted post are hidden from the inbox. (I'm not sure about a <10k user with comments on a deleted answer belonging to that user.) So in order for the user to see a mod-comment there might be an exception in there.
In a couple of recent meta.SO questions:
Why have I been ban from asking questions from SO? [duplicate]

@Shog9 if you're watching, there's a lot of pluralization bugs in that message. Not just in the form of S's, but also the grammar of the entire first sentence. :) — Mysticial10 mins ago
To summarize: 1. Some jackass posted some dumb SVG exploit in the sandbox. 2. Everyone going to the sandbox gets pwned. 3. Shog edits the post, calls the guy a jackass, and spam deletes it. 4. We all laugh at it.
