Missed it by a month: Stack Exchange turned 5,000 days old on April 9 of this year.

a question just entered the HNQ with only 1 answer, 1 upvote on Q, and 1 upvote on A...
surprised if the HNQ requirement for this SE site is that low...

3:12 PM
@MetaAndrewT. Link?

3:26 PM
@DavidPostill this from Android.SE, but looks like it went cold so soon ¯_(ツ)_/¯
(not seeing the question on the HNQ list anymore now)

@JourneymanGeek I think your response here would be nice, given that it's on SU: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/378540/…

tbh, no idea
it was removed on the back end

Okay, makes sense, given that it's a staff-only tool. Is it a site-specific question?

No?
Its to do with mysterious SE/Imgur interplay

In some sense, yes, because the answer might be "it contained personal info/was offensive and so we asked staff to delete it" which only the SU mods would know

10:46 PM
hm
That's possible

But since Journeyman Geek in particular is a mod both here and there...I'll leave it to his discretion :-)

but we wouldn't remember ^^

yeah if we got it on MSO I'd check the poster's profile for CM escalations, and then shrug if I didn't find any.
The user could also have asked the CMs directly to delete it, which we might not know about.

the OP has deleted their account
that indicates nothing private

Huh. Yeah, can't imagine why anyone would bother asking the CMs to delete that.
Okay, probably not site-specific then.

10:50 PM
@SonictheSaveUkraine-hog Which tool?
The browser extension thing?

@forestdistrustsStackExchange deletion of images from the imgur image storing backend

Oh. That's not really a tool is it, just a feature of their Imgur account?
That is weird that that image would be deleted.

@forestdistrustsStackExchange @forestdistrustsStackExchange yes it is
@forestdistrustsStackExchange kinda sorta.

I mean there's certainly a tool somewhere to do it, because CMs can do it when we ask them to.

Oh, yeah a tool on the Imgur side I guess. I thought you meant SE side.
Say, since I'm a mod now, am I able to find out (or ask) why a particular person was suspended network-wide?

11:04 PM
hmm
Probably on TL I think
But usually network suspension means very bad things

Yeah, especially if it's for 10 years.

Q: Clarifying fair use regarding a Stack Exchange site and an Imgur hosted image

Louis WaweruOn the Japanese site, there is some concern regarding the use of a photograph taken of a comic book. The question is located here. I am actually the person who asked the question and took the photo. I considered asking the question without using the image, but felt that the image would help expla...

Well this is silly. not only was the link merely removed from the post but neither really redacted nor deleted, but it's an image of Yotsuba&! which is a very popular manga series. Yeah I know this happened a long time ago (centuries in Internet years!), but it's so inconsistent given that probably no image I've ever posted on SE has ever had me as the legitimate copyright owner.

A: Why did this image disappear?

CatijaThe question was flag deleted as spam or offensive. Because many posts that are spam or rude have problematic images (or people are using our image hosting to host images of themselves that get flag deleted) our system automatically tells imgur to delete images that were in posts deleted through ...

@JourneymanGeek The riddle is solved!
