I have a collection of extremely minor nitpicks with the Help Center - a few capitalization inconsistences, an extra newline where there shouldn't be one, etc.. Is that kind of stuff worth posting Qs about?

5:00 AM
@bobble Might be worth a single collective report. Definitely wouldn't do one for each.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog yes, thanks. I noticed it erroneously appeared somewhere else, in the custom filters; I fixed that and pushed v1.0.1, which is a patch update and I didn't expect userscript managers to install that automatically (only v1.1 should do that). That version contained the bug you encountered, but it's fixed in v1.0.2 now.

@rene So, that's a no.

@Rob not bigger than Tel Aviv, but it's 1) Closer and more accessible for me, and 2) Easier to learn there. I deny hacking it. ;)

How it possible to post question without tag ? example: question without tag ? OP find a way to by pass validation. Is it bug or I am missing some thing ?

Not sure if it's a bug, but that is weird.

@Tinkeringbell Bugs have three segments on their body. Since it only has two segments, it's an arachnid.

Good to know.

@Shree according to SE API, it's tagged with 'policy'

11:37 AM
@MetaAndrewT. Ya same discussion on SOCVR and latter I know there is a tag which display hidden.

actually, the bug is site-wide!?

in SO Close Vote Reviewers on Stack Overflow Chat, 15 mins ago, by Tomerikoo
@JeanneDark Note that all questions under the page doesn't actually seem to have that tag visible...

@MetaAndrewT. Yeah, I see none of the tags tagged policy have a tag policy... stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/policy

@Tinkeringbell yeah, also happens on Teams (Mod Teams)

If you can add a Teams screenshot there, it might help :)

11:46 AM
@MetaAndrewT. looks like some new change that allow "hidden tags" or whatever, the tag "policy" exists on SO, got questions, can be used, but hidden from view.
I'd say it's 50/50 bug or new feature.

Q: The tag [policy] is invisible

Jeanne DarkThe tag policy still exists (currently 1,083 questions), you can find it under tags and you can search for [policy] and find the respective questions, but the tag itself is no longer visible. This leads to strange effects like a question with seemingly no tags: Or the list of questions tagged po...

It's also hidden on the the Teams' Business tier, (the one with Collectives and Articles) but not on the Basic and Free tier

So it's some fancy Teams feature that leaked?

@GWarner don't forget the hair
It always comes in the way.
@Mithical can't move messages on a mobile device?

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Only one at a time.

and? There are only four.

So that'd generate four different "moved" messages, and it wasn't worth it.

12:02 PM
thinking of ways to make @Mith pull out their laptop anyway

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 I've gotten pretty adept at moderating from mobile, so good luck :P
Moving messages and issuing a main-site suspension are really the only things that I can't do from my phone.

hmm
looking on a sock account that can be trashed

Backward-compatible with many existing cables, and can connect directly to phones or tablets if you press them down hard enough.

Stretch work assignments are tasks or projects that are a bit beyond an engineer’s current skill or knowledge level and that allow them to improve and learn new things. When done correctly these assignments serve a dual purpose of providing learning opportunities for your engineers, while at the same time completing a project or task that will help your company.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog How do people who have posted more than 999 messages get their chat profile deleted?

@Wolgwang They must contact SE to request it. It can take a while since a developer has to process the request; it can't be done by a regular staff member.

Thanks :-)

@Mithical There goes the uptime.

We're at the point where many of the longstanding employees, understandably, are beginning to get bored.

I doubt it's just about getting bored.

12 years working at a single company is a long time

It is. Doing something different for a change after such a long time is probably a good thing.

Either that, or he ran out of waffles

It means no more SQL Easter eggs

I hope it's not the end of "something went horribly wrong but we fixed it within 20 minutes and here's how we did it".

I mean, Nick's not the only person who does those.

@Glorfindel I tried to use the Lost Souls userscript on that question you just deleted, and my browser redirected to https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/368662/how-can-i-perform-these-programming-exercises?comment=on&downvote=on&close=on# but the script didn't submit the requisite close/downvotes/comment/etc.
I see that you were able to do so, but I'm not sure how else to describe that behavior.

@Spevacus when did you click the Confirm button? Was the question already deleted by then?
I did make some rather major changes (in v2.0, it works from the homepage as well) but I believe I've tested everything ...

I definitely clicked the confirm button a couple of times prior to your deletion. I hit refresh and went back to the main question's URL (as in, sans the comment=on... part). Around 30 seconds after opening the console to see if it logged an error or somesuch your deletion went through.
Also I do like that it's easy to lost-soul from the main page. That's really nice if you know for sure that the question is off-topic by the title alone.

Salient quote:
> Remember, I’m just a guy trying to do right by all of you.

@Spevacus strange, it works for me here: softwarerecs.stackexchange.com/q/80242/23377 where I am a regular user. That post was already closed, though.

7:48 PM
@Dudecoinheringaahing That was actually fixed a couple weeks ago; they just didn't update the meta post until now.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Really? I could've sworn I saw a post recently in a Suggested Edit queue which showed the headers "change"
Either way, good to have it officially

@Glorfindel Hrm. Well, if you could usher in another lost soul so I can test it once more... ;)

Okay, then maybe the fix couple weeks ago was incomplete

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I'm just going off memory, I could be mistaken ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Spevacus I'll try to leave the next one for you. I am curious what your browser console shows.

7:52 PM
I'll maintain vigilance on the main page :)

@Spevacus But I'm so close to Marshal, and flagging VLQ posts is the best way to get even closer :P

Oh yeah... I had forgotten that you can kinda cheese helpful flags here by throwing VLQ onto lost-soul questions.

It's better not to use the VLQ flag for that: meta.stackexchange.com/a/328577/295232

@Glorfindel Yeah, I use the "Not suitable for the site" flag (as I'm sure you could verify if you'd like ;) )

Good!

7:57 PM
Mainly because I know it sends them to the CV queue so posts can be cleaned up quicker during quieter times (and, y'know, it's the right one to use)

8:17 PM
@Dudecoinheringaahing great, thank you!

@Glo for Travel.SE Mod 📣 😀

I don't qualify. My last holiday was just before the lockdown started in March 2020 ...

8:57 PM
@Glorfindel I'm getting an uncaught exception right before it auto-redirects me. One second, I can try and quickly comment out the redirect to grab the exception.
@Glorfindel Snagged it:

@Glorfindel you think those mods on the other sites know what they are talking about?

I get the same error when attempting to hit the Cancelbutton or the X in the top-right.

I have the feeling I saw this title before: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/368665/… but I don't have it on my history. Anyone else?

@Glorfindel Arguably, you could use that as a positive - I'm not sure I'd trust anyone who went on holiday during COVID to be a mod :P

i mean, going on holiday doesn't have to involve leaving the house

9:06 PM
In the context of Travel.SE, it sort of does :P
Although, I hear the kitchen is beautiful this time of year :P

Rob
Probably most countries were affected by a lockdown, and limiting it to recent travellers wouldn't be wise; besides if you had enough money to continuously cruise the world (or are an international travelling salesperson) you'd probably be too busy anyways. - Still no one's interest bought you a star.
