Q: Post remains featured in the bulletin even if [featured] tag is removed

TuringTuxThis question about nominations for Pro Tempore Moderators on Computer Science Educators Meta was a featured question, but was unfeatured on June 23. However, it sometimes still appears as featured on the main page of Computer Science Educators SE: This might have something to do with the fact...

Was there ever any sort of explanation for this?
I just saw a question that has been unfeatured for nearly a year show up as featured.

@Alex I'd say caching but... post/ask on meta :D
probably will have/need a dev kick it off

Q: Is adding a link to a search term at the end of posts okay?

ccprogI just encountered an unusual way a user marks their posts. At the end of posts there is a link saying IMSVG, WCICON, etc. Those lead to a Stack Overflow search for that abbreviation: This seems to be a tagging mechanism, without the restrictions of actual tags. Is doing this okay? I don't ...

Uh, I'm surprised more people don't do this

@M.A.R. Yeah... surprising, isn't it. TVRN TOP200

@MetaAndrewT. Yeah #Yes_Yes #Affirmative
@MartinJames - beats me, mate. Maybe some people like closing questions. I seen one earlier that was crystal clear. It had numerous answers that fixed the problem. But it got closed due to "not being clear." So to say "don't answer questions that will be closed" is not solid advice. It's a gamble. It's a small gamble, but qualifies none the less. — Joe Beck Aug 19 at 22:13
Read it in a rural American accent
Add some southern too
> What I did wrong was, I overlooked the changes in text that were made and just accepted the edit.
And you're complaining about a review ban?
Sigh not even good drama to much on these days

On MSO? They're swiftly deleted to reduce the over-consumption of popcorn.

Love you, google translate. Can we rename every flag button to 'anxiety'?

Post an FR on Meta ...

Get anxiety instead ...

Rob

I wonder why the site accepted a word that translates to that, with so many other choices.

Heh. I like it :)

@Tinkeringbell What were you translating?

@DavidPostill тревога (aka the "flag" button)

@DavidPostill rus.SE, automatically translate the whole site ;) See the SmokeDetector post just above mine ;)

Rob
It's like [Panic Button] - if you are sweating and visibly shaking, have had an accident, then you click it.

10:41 AM
I was curious about the 'English text', I now see it was more to do with the script used, I guess.

Noun: трево́га • (trevóga) f
  1. alarm, alert
  2. trouble, anxiety, uneasiness, fluster, discomposure, disquiet, disquietedness, disquietude
  3. тревога • (trevoga) f
  4. alarm, distress
  5. трево́га • (trevóga) f inan (genitive трево́ги, nominative plural трево́ги, genitive plural трево́г)
(2 more not shown…)

Rob
When you translate the flag dialogue it's more reasonable:

> You have 10 alarms left for today
4

Rob
Right for tomorrow too.

11:23 AM
oh wow expected to see no new messages
@MetaAndrewT. popcorn?! stealing the popcorn

@Rob I don't shake during panic attack
@MetaAndrewT. even better, ready to eat!

Rob
Portuguese seems to have no тревога:

Why are there two sets of asking help links in the Ask Question page?
One right above the other.

cause they want to be extra helpful?

Meh.
Shouldn't they only be in the Helpful Links section?

(more seriously - the top one is from the shrunk down question assistant thing... I suspect its the helpful links that are redundant)

Yes, but if you're looking for help, wouldn't it be the "HELPFUL" that would catch your eye first? :D
CLUE!!!!
Going now, ta!
