Q: What changes need to be made to espresso machine so it can function properly in space?

Shadow Wizard is Ear For YouI recently read this article about an Astronatur taking a "specially adapted espresso machine" with her to the space station and using it there to drink coffee. Now this makes me wonder, what changes were made to the coffee machine so that it produced excellent coffee even in zero gravity? All ...

@ShadowWizardWearingMask I know, yes

This got a good answer lol
@rene good!

@ShadowWizardWearingMask No such command 'starbucks'.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask you didn't accept it. Did you try the answer? If it worked for you consider ticking the green checkmark at the left of the answer ....

hehehe
Didn't even notice I didn't accept... maybe because I never expected to get a decent answer to begin with.... :D
Also, this comment doesn't have enough upvotes!
For all the technology in there, I like the name the best: ISSpresso. Golly, that's clever. :) — hoc_age ♦ Feb 10 '15 at 20:30
and.... accepted. :P
@apaul isn't around to thank me.
Or for me to thank him.
So I'll thank @M.A.R instead.

@ArtOfCode That lovely site you made for IPS once came up in chat today, but seems down: shouldihookupwithmybarista.com/faq ... is that intentional? ;)

That's not half as much fun :P

lol sure
So you still send barista?
!!/hookup barista

nah, it came up in a conversation about IPS scope and morality ;)

@ShadowWizardWearingMask No such command 'hookup'.

heh
Well didn't dig deep, but isn't the barista thing is for men who poke random women online?

@ShadowWizardWearingMask Not so much online as in real life... IPS had a few questions in a row about asking out a cashier and someone wearing headphones at a library...
Which led to:
in Discussion on answer by Tinkeringbell: How to ask cashier out for date on The Stack Exchange Network Chat, Feb 27 '18 at 21:39, by Shog9
If the best this site can accomplish is guidance for folks looking for love in all the wrong places... It's worthless. We could just create a static page at http://shoulditrytohookupwithrandompeopleinspiteofmylackofsocialawareness.com
And then Art's site, I believe ;)

That link from Shog9 is dead.
I assume it said Yes

Let me know how that works out ;)

10:15 AM
I would be amazed if it changed the state I'm currently in ;)

It could... I think your current state was 'married'?

10:29 AM
@Tinkeringbell oh.... makes more sense now.
Cashier I can understand, been there actually as the other side (cashier at McDonald's asked for my number and became my first girlfriend ;)) but someone wearing headphones?? lol
@rene what state? Open or Closed?

@ShadowWizardWearingMask That's the cashier asking, not someone asking the cashier like they're part of the shop inventory :P
Different question XD

@ShadowWizardWearingMask open minded, closed for change.

@Tinkeringbell true, guess she was impressed I didn't ask for her number, so she "chose" me. :P
@rene change is hard, but never say never. :D

I've worked retail... I can't imagine people coming by and just giving them phone numbers, I was supposed to work the register, not the customers ;)

@Tinkeringbell well, back then those who paid with credit card were required to write down their phone number and sign their name.... so it was part of her job.... she just asked if she can "keep the number for later use", as she described it. :D
She called that evening, we talked for about an hour, and the rest is history....

10:42 AM
Awww

Well it didn't last that long, only year and half, and we met mainly during weekends since she was in the army...
(She was 18, I was 21 :))

Can't have everything go right on the first try :P

Well it worked for my brother....kind of.... :)

To offer a seamless developer experience, we also felt it was important to create a specialized programming language, called Motoko, that is designed to directly support the programming model of the Internet Computer, making it easier to efficiently build applications and take advantage of some of the more unusual features of this platform.

Jon SkeetI think only one answer is applicable here, really. Welcome to the club, Gordon. It was getting lonely here.

@Rob holy...like...wow.
A million reputation?
You could go around awarding 100-point bounties to every answer on Meta and still have several [hundred] thousand to spare.

I very recently flagged a post as "Not suitable for this site", but when I clicked the button again, this site greeted me:
Why does it say "You've already raised a recommended flag" on both "Needs improvement" and "Duplicate"? I only used Needs Improvement.

They're both the same type of flag - a closure flag. There are basically three types of flag: red flag (spam, abusive); close flag (needs improvement, dupe); and mod intervention. You can raise a red flag once on a post. You can raise a closure flag once on a post.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask Well, it detects and stops meat so others don't eat it (i.e. consume the promotional content)
