Nope, never seen that one before. Hence me blaming the work laptop ;)
I just got another phishing test e-mail. I'm of a mind to go and nag IT about it's frequency.
Twice a month is too obvious (so are the e-mails, as they're always about the same 'confirm your account details or we'll delete your account in three days')
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog thanks... but 1) It's already over and 2) It's a special holiday where people should think about their sins towards other people and redeem them by being honestly sorry and fasting... aka it's the single day/holiday where we shouldn't be happy. All good, since you had no idea to know that, so telling you now. :)
@ShadowtheWelcomingWizard My building happens to be near a small synagogue and I only saw the banner last evening. I didn't get around to posting a message in chat much later, and didn't realize it'd already be late for you due to time zones. Also, sorry for not realizing the significance of that holiday.
When we wish one another during the Aseres Yemei Teshuva "Gmar Chasima Tova" what does it mean? Does it not depend on what is written in the document? What difference does it make if the seal is good if the document is no good?
@Mithrandir is this allowed by רבנים? I'd imagine they might forbid it as many people might watch the videos you upload during Shabbat, thus causing mass "hilul Shabbat" of a sort. No?
@Mithrandir Waaait. So there's actually people not having a youtube channel because of the off chance that someone may watch their video during Shabbat?
@Tinkeringbell that still makes some sense. Try a "rule" that forbids Jewish people from tearing toilet paper during Shabbat. They have to prepare the paper in advance. Again, not all follow this of course, but I did have few who did during army, which was funny to be honest, as a side looker. :)
@ShadowtheWelcomingWizard ... I never realized how much work a Shabbat could be. I mean, we got taught a little in school about preparing food in advance and stuff... but not about the toilet patper or youtube ;)
@Tinkeringbell these days children get much more classes about bible and religion, due to having a religious Minister of Education, but still... it's probably not enough to make real difference.
@ShadowtheWelcomingWizard Hmmm. That's probably not what I meant with 'religion classes' :P We had a course in high school called 'religion' and we got taught the principles of all Abrahamic religions, but also about Buddhism, Hinduism, and atheism
So you'd understand it if someone said 'You don't tear toilet paper on Shabbat' because you know some Jewish people probably see that as work and not rest
But you'd also learn the differences between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism, and how that difference came to be
@ShadowtheWelcomingWizard There has been a lot of pushback against those classes even in The Netherlands... mainly a 'what do we include, what not, and why are you exposing my superreligious saintly child to those kinds of heresies!'
Or 'why does my child have to learn about religion if we're sure those are bogus'
As Abdul Alhazred recorded in his writing, Jan is now just a puppet in the claws of The Owl, who is one of the many physical manifestations of the Great Unspeakable One, Gram'mnarh Nazgoth
yeah, right. Anyway, we are currently evaluating various frameworks to use for building the mobile version of a web app that was developed using angular 2+.
Among the various options there were proposal for NativeScripts, Cordova, Ionic, React Native and such...
anyone want to suggest some more (or maybe tell us to stay away from some)?
@Derpy I'm not an expert (never developed anything mobile)... but also look at how easy it is to do the things you want to do within the framework you're going with.
A framework may be easy to learn, but not support e.g. push notifications in an easy way...
I always find it easier to learn a new easy way to do something in a new language
then to learn an easy language that requires doing things in a difficult way
I am in for a laugh and wanted to see if I can pinpoint what triggered the false positive that stopped me form posting areply on stackoverflow yesterday
@ShadowtheWelcomingWizard I'll have a look at that. So freaking annoying. It's just that the updated compiler enforces some compliance which it didn't before. And a VS rollback isn't simple. Meh
I am using Ubuntu 18.4 and my Laravel version is 5.2. How to remove space in ck editor when I copy data from another place and how to solve this error? 1 copy this content and paste in ck editor: ]2]2
@JourneymanGeek Most people use EasyBeads. Originially for beading, but you can choose a bead size that sort-of matches your stitch size. I once designed a bag pattern that way.
to be fair, the prizes in the collection page (the top picture) are usually replaced by some (read: 30-40) gems if you already have them so you at least will get those... but it is still pretty lame
This post will be updated as the responsive design and left navigation layouts are released on each site.
Previously, we tried this out by releasing still screenshots of the site designs and getting input on them and then releasing them live. This was problematic because users couldn't actually ...
@Catija Will Area 51 Discussions be getting a responsive design? I know Area 51 is left out, but Area 51 Discussions has been getting updates with the existing design.
