I blamed a crack in the universe for the time slip

Eh, Christmas Eve is sort of Christmas.

Can moderators change the "close reason" of a closed question without having to reopen and close it again?

I don't think so... I never see that happen...

@NVZ no. Maybe CM or devs got such tools, but pretty sure not ordinary moderators. @JourneymanGeek can confirm for sure.
oh and @Catija too, she's also a moderator.

A: Can moderators change a close reason from 'Please show your rsearch...' to 'Duplicate of...'?

NVZModerators can surely change the close reason of a question by reopening and re-closing it. I've not seen this done any other way, as of now. Perhaps, a moderator will confirm this. While it's nice to have reviewers invest extra time to search for possible duplicates instead of closing as "pleas...

Christmas on the Meta... so silent

8:42 AM
@AndrewT. yup, SE team is all away, they even forgot they started a swag contest.
I can totally see Tim Post coming in 6-8 months saying "oops, sorry, we forgot about that, good luck next year." (or like in many cases, just disappear and never reply or edit that.)
Well... it's their own contest, it's 100% their right to abort it.
Just pity many people wasted lots of efforts on this.

yeah, so silent... I regret posting an answer for a hat... I won't even get any upvotes :(

Q: How to find time complexity of an algorithm

YasserThe Question How to find time complexity of an algorithm? What have I done before posting a question on SO ? Q: Big O, how do you calculate/approximate it?

svenMost people with a degree in CS will certainly know what Big O stands for. It helps us to measure how (in)efficient an algorithm really is and if you know in what category the problem you are trying to solve lays in you can figure out if it is still possible to squeeze out that little extra perfo...

A tweet by per-site Twitter is randomly automatic, right?

user315433
4:25 PM
There are several types of tweets. Some are not random, like "bounty offered".

user315433
Every bounty gets a tweet.

user315433
You can tell it's a quiet school season when @StackMath has time to tweet anything other than "bounty offered".

I see. I'd assume anime.stackexchange.com/posts/2618/timeline was random, then?

user315433
Probably "hotness" based.

user315433
Types of tweets, besides bounties: "Great answer", "Can you answer this?", and no prefix; I suppose the latter means a hot question.

4:29 PM
Hmm, makes sense. I checked recent tweets and some were certainly "hot" at that time.

@Catija well the hats are SVG so you can just zoom...
200% zoom ^

Hmmm, I'll try that if I change it again. Right now it's too much trouble :P
I do appreciate the help, though!

:)
I do wonder, does the lack of any update on the swag contest mean it's aborted? That's their full right, but they should at least say it, not disappear into the void.
ALL past events went fine, and were updated when they were over.

I doubt it. I'm guessing that it's merely the fact that everyone's off. They don't usually end the contest before Christmas, they end it in January.
I've flagged it... but I think if they were really concerned about it, they would have called it off sooner... and I'm not really sure what they would be worried about.
89 is more than they had in the choose your own swag contest, though at least 3 of them are repeat submissions... hopefully they won't send those people two swag packs...
