Anyway, there's a "New" button on SO Top bar that links to... the calculator. Will we expect that "New" button on other sites when there's a new... feature?

Which of course it isn'...

How many of you got the open on load version? I was in the New button in the topbar group and it hasn't bothered me much. (I wish it would go away after I visit the target link, however.)

I don't know why we are testing open on load. That doesn't seem appropriate ever.

@NVZ Given it's designed by a company that is trying to get more people to apply for new jobs, I don't see a reason why it would be accurate.

@NVZ yes, the RO's move the obsolete SmokeDetector reports out the transcript and to the Chimney.

@Michelle I can't say whether the calculator is right or wrong, but I don't imagine someone from the business side was putting a finger on the scales. Our data team is honest, in my experience.

Found the reason:

It seems that you accidentally merged vocabulary into vocabulary and we didn't validate this action - our bad, big time. The merge basically burninated that tag from all questions it appeared on, but our backups will allow us to restore the data. I just have to write an "add tag" function to re...

Gonna say, back around 2000, I was spending a lot of late nights in a crappy call-center job on NT workstations configured to run a terminal emulator, Outlook, Notepad, and Internet Explorer.

lol reminds me of myself.... back in 2000 I learned classic ASP from a book while working as a security guard, in the night shifts.

So out of boredom, I'd wrote code in Notepad and configure IE's Active Desktop integration (essentially, a web page as wallpaper) to run it for the next person to log into the terminal.

JS came later, much later.

It was books, bamba, and chocolate.

@ShaWizDowArd yes, but not web. I wrote C++ / C# / VB for desktop apps. The only web apps I worked on were internal tools for bug tracking and triaging crash reports.
