Q: Who blocked up my toilet?

DaronEdit: The reason this is on Travel Exchange is because traveling long distance invariably involves using all manner of public facilities and that includes restrooms. I would love to hear suggestions on more appropriate -exchanges for this question. Not sure if this is the most relevant exchange ...

Stop whatever it is you are doing!

@JoErNanO hehe, this is familiar to me.... though I did not post a picture just being polite.... :D

Well, 16 answers to my LH question, surely something will be helpful to the poor OP on Travel. @Joe ;)

12:13 PM
@DroidDev well, @Joe got a point... we do have large population of orthodox Jews over here, as expected, and many religious Jews who are not orthodox, but still keeping the Jewish religion rules like not driving in Saturday, not eating milk with meat etc. But also many people who are neither, and living life free of religion. :)

@ShadowWizard oh....got that. I like the fact that orthodox jews aren't assertive about their religion. Is it same for kids and parents? I mean, does kids get choice in choosing what they want, and are parents usually ok with it? (though I think that's not common anywhere in case of orthodox people)

user280395
@Rahul2001 You are Welcome!

@DroidDev Are you sure orthodox jews are not assertive about their religion?

@JoErNanO ummm....I think that's what @Sha meant by freedom of life in his last sentence. If they were, there won't be any freedom for people who aren't. Eg, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia

@DroidDev oh, they are assertive. But they are not the majority, yet, so they don't decide everything. When the time comes and they will be the majority I believe Israel will become much like Iran or Pakistan. /cc @Joe
So for now we (the unreligious people) enjoy our freedom.... :)

@ShadowWizard oh...so you think they'll be majority in future?

It's a fact. Math. They have much more children.
So it's only a matter of time, always was.
Their main motive to make more children is that they can rule the country one day.

@ShadowWizard well...as society evolves and they mix up with other people, actual number of orthodox people don't go up by much, until there is isolation in place

@DroidDev well, in Israel they are united and act as one organism. It's really impressive, to be honest.
and their numbers go up in linear line for dozens of years.

@ShadowWizard that's worrysome. We have many such groups in India. There was ethnic cleansing of majority(hindus) from some areas back in 1990s (Kashmir) and now its being done in some other areas as well because of those orthodox people.

@DroidDev I see. Well, here it's somewhat different, the Orthodox group is very patient, and won't do silly things like open rebellion.
They just know time is on their side.
@Moosebot ai

user280395
@ShadowWizard Artificial intellegence? Mooseman typed all this out ya know...

1:03 PM
@ShadowWizard well...religous assertiveness is worst thing happening in our world atm. ISIS is one extreme example. They also have pretty philosophical people on their side. In my mind, no matter what religion, when you try to politicaly define it, it goes towards religious assertiveness

@DroidDev true. In our case it won't be any better when Israel will be ruled by the Orthodox people. But since they oppose our army, guess it will just end with Israel losing a war against the Arab countries and being occupied.... so the end of Israel anyway. o_O

@ShadowWizard well...that's worrying. I hate the ideology of giving birth to more children. Just increases the poverty and decreases the average living standard. A community in India does same, and those areas are worst poverty struck and have lowest standard of living on average

@DroidDev Indeed. But in our case, the unreligious people fund the Orthodox people, so while not rich, they do live comfortable life and get 100% funding from the government. That's the benefit of being big enough to have like 20% to 30% of our parliament seats. While they don't rule yet, they do take billions of dollars so they can live without working a single minute in their whole life.

@ShadowWizard needs more specs ... :(

@rene Time To Wait

1:13 PM
@ShadowWizard you can start a petition on change.org. Minority appeasement is worst kind of politics. We have reservation system in place because of that. Even religous tours of some communities are funded by government. Being from a majority and having felt their burden whole my life, I can say, both who support this (politicians) and those who benefit from this (minorities who benefit from minority appeasement politics) should have no place in a developing country.

@DroidDev meh.... can't change this, and better just live as usual, hoping some miracle will happen until the time comes. :)
(than living life of struggle against something you can't win or change)

@ShadowWizard Totally true. My maternal uncle left India and started living in Canada, because when he was to be promoted to a school principle, a junior guy from minority community was promoted. Qualification didn't matter in promotion, what mattered was, which community the guy belongs to.

@Dro oh, and as for your question, there are only few who become Orthodox and much fewer who become unreligious after being Orthodox. It exists, but very small numbers either way, so no real impact. In general, those born Orthodox stay this way, and vice versa.
@DroidDev heh, this sucks.

@ShadowWizard hmm...got it. Mixing communities up and educating each is the real answer (IMO). Because, only then orthodox people will come to know about the benefits of other things (science and such).

1:38 PM
@DroidDev heh, won't happen here. They are aware of science and know all about its benefits, using them for their needs, but they still want the power to rule.

@ShadowWizard oh. Never came across such scenario. That's even more worrying

@DroidDev indeed. They are smart in a worrying way.
From the start of political Zionism in the 1890s, Haredi leaders voiced objection to its secular orientation, and before the establishment of the State of Israel, the vast majority of Haredi Jews were opposed to Zionism. This was chiefly due to the concern that secular nationalism would replace the Jewish faith and the observance of religion, and the view that it was forbidden for the Jews to re-constitute Jewish rule in the Land of Israel before the arrival of the Messiah. Those rabbis who did support Jewish settlement in Palestine in the late 19th century had no intention of conquering Palestine...
@Dro worth reading, though it does not mention some of the things I said ^

@ShadowWizard opens link in new tab

:)
The real "threat" are not those who oppose Israel itself, they are minority.

@ShadowWizard add "ism" in the end of anything, and it'll eventually become a bad thing for society

1:51 PM
@DroidDev Pastafarianism is not bad.

lol
Peeism
I bow to the One and Only Pee God and do His wishes
hmm..... serious-ish question. Suppose somebody pee in public place (which is against the law due to, well, being exposed) and claim it's part of his religion. Will it stick in court? @Joe

@JoErNanO just wait until other people with "isms" come after you :P

@ShadowWizard to wait for what? You realize you are a bit low on information in your spec?

@ShadowWizard that's a tricky one. Triple talaak is still practiced in India, and AIMPLB advocates that its because minorities are allowed under constitution to practice their faith. But, people these days are taking it to court, if it should be considered a crime against women and discontinued.
AIMPLB = All India Muslim Personal Law Board

@ShadowWizard They'll probably have to prove it.
There is a couple guys who managed to get a pasta siv recognised as a religious headwear. In UK and somewhere in eastern europe if I recall correctly.

2:01 PM
Triple talaak = saying "talaak"three times will be considered a divorce between any Muslim couple

@rene the rate limit, e.g. one hour between each !!help command, or 6 minutes between each status command, etc. :)
@DroidDev huh. What is "Triple talaak"?

4 mins ago, by DroidDev
Triple talaak = saying "talaak"three times will be considered a divorce between any Muslim couple

@JoErNanO yup. So they can also formulate some document allowing them to pee anywhere as part of the religion. ;)

@ShadowWizard though, mostly done by muslim men only. Since education isn't their first concern in backward societies. So, if a muslim men divorces his wife in such a way, she is left with nothing, since they aren't much educated, they aren't able to feed themselves, but left with only one option of returning to their parents home and live life their on mercy of their brothers and their wives.

@DroidDev oh. Very interesting, it's the same in Judaism, I think. Though it never being used.

2:07 PM
Only three months of alimony is granted in cases of tripple talaak. That's also by constitution, and not by religion.

> when a court finalizes a divorce, the judges say "Megureshes, megureshses, megureshes"

@ShadowWizard oh...that's more like a final stamp

yup
heh, maybe @ber will become a maulvi? ;)

@ShadowWizard lol, they are true orthodox, if you ask me

Wonder if they can be married, and if so, what their wife think about this.
!!blame

2:15 PM
@ShadowWizard blames @JoErNanO for everything

Muslim men are allowed to have 4 wives according to their holy book Quran

@rene see !!blame for example, if I'll now try to use it again it won't work. So what I suggested is show the number of minutes one need to wait until he/she can use it again.
(in the commands list.)
@DroidDev but I'm pretty sure they are not allowed to have sex with women other than those four....

@ShadowWizard maulvis can. Under circumstances I told above

Exactly. :)

@ShadowWizard hmm, that is not easy for some commands, take for example coffee.js. So ttw would be based on both state, last action and elapsed time so far. The help command doesn't have access to the command instance, only to the commandname the command reported when it was instantiated. Changing that requires rework in all commands and in how they are invoked/managed.

2 hours later…

7:30 PM
@rene I see. So show only for the commands with fixed rate limit... what you think?
(and maybe show "dynamic" for the commands where the TTW isn't fixed)

well, sure. I can at least refactor a bit so the help command can invoke a function on the other commands ... or I can do a fancy event system....

huh! So those are random movie names.... cool!
@rene nah, maybe just a common helper file with the time as constants, that will be used both by the commands themselves and by the help command. No need to really call or invoke the commands...
In my projects I just stuff all the fixed settings into a single settings.js file and read it where needed.
