@JeremyBanks This is apparently by design, for being too edge-case-y.

@TimStone Interesting timing. I was surprised to see that post so shortly after my own comment.

@TimStone I feel like that should be status-deferred not by design.

user206222
Since, y'know. It's not by design.

probably because of the odd character in your username
or hm, usernames are not unique so maybe you have to choose one for the url somewhere?
@NullPoiиteя: go to "privacy settings", you can specify the username for the url there

Y r u on so many chats ThickMaster, are they your clones or just the decoys. Every chatroom I visited within the past 24 hours (like 3 of them), I see a piece of you. Are you a bot sent into the chatrooms to collect our valueable information?

@thiefmaster Thankyou ...... its working ....aewsome

@yiz 3 rooms and 2 mod-only rooms are not that many :p

2:18 PM
@yiz Very true!

1 hour later…

interesting, I'll have a look
IMDB is not going to happen, though.

Yeah, it was proposed as a general way, since a majority of the requested sites use OpenGraph
But there did seem to be a trend (in these meta questions) to only support one-boxing for sites which are universally helpful

3:58 PM
It's still going to be enabled on a per-site basis, but OG may make that easy
Are you planning to release your parser in a way so we can use it? Currently it's All Rights Reserved.

> from our FTP sites
SERIOUSLY?
/me checks the calendar.. yeah, 2013

oh, sorry, forgot about that. WTFPL good?
Also, if you can tell me what DOM parser you use internally, I can port it

> Currently it's All Rights Reserved.
GitHub really needs an option to specify a project's license if there's no LICENSE file. I'm sure 99,99% of all projects with no license file are not supposed to be All Rights Reserved but more like WTFPL
And I'm just waiting for some German asshole lawyer to start sending C&D letters (which cost you money in Germany) to people who fork projects with no license file ;x

Added the license

@ThiefMaster hello

uh, hi

@ThiefMaster I asked a question: stackoverflow.com/questions/16916271/…
But after some conversation in the comments
I was able to find a partial solution to it
now I have another question (more narrow, then the original)
should I edit this question or create a new narrow one?
and answer the original myself

if it's not a totally new question you could just edit it

ok, thx

Are any developers around? Are Community managers?

@Seth I'm here, and I'm a developer. You probably mean SE developers

@Seth what's up?

You'll find that direct questions get much better answers in the future tho ;-)
'lo AnnaLear! /me waves

I was wondering if you guys have the ability to kill a tag outright.

Which tag?

9:09 PM
Some of us do, yeah.

At this point it's this one: askubuntu.com/questions/tagged/disable
@AnnaLear Which ones may I ask? :D

@Seth any community managers or devs, and mods can at least make them disappear within 24 hours
It depends on the egregiousness of the tag, and mods always have a direct line to the Community team for crisis situations

@jcolebrand Well I talked to a mod and he was of the opinion he would have to manually retag them all...

@Seth there's a process to make them disappear ;-)

I'm asking first 'cause I was going to create a feature request to make it easier.. But I wanted to better understand who can do what to tags first ;)

9:17 PM
@Seth Destroyed.
Apparently I'm one of them now. :P
@jcolebrand not all comm managers have dev access

@AnnaLear Thanks!

@seth you guys have a few things in [untagged] that need love: askubuntu.com/questions/tagged/untagged
and by love I mean tags

I'll have to look at those..

@AnnaLear no, but "if it's egregious enough" you can get it resolved PDQ

9:43 PM
ok, @jco - what's this "PDQ" shit?

@Shog9 do you mean you're unfamiliar with the phrase?

yeah
also, I just saw it posted twice in two different rooms within about a minute
so apparently it's suddenly a "thing"
I DON'T LIKE CHANGE

I assure you it isn't sudden
It's been a "thing" since before I was born.
Ever watch any episodes of M*A*S*H?
Sherman T Potter used to use it all the time
Pretty Damn Quick

ahhh
well, shucks... Just say that then!

@Shog9 you just haven't lived in the south enough

9:46 PM
yeah, I'll agree to that

This is a three-letter abbreviation which means "pretty damned (or darn) quick(ly)" but may refer more specifically to the following list of products or services available: * PDQ Food Stores, a convenience store chain in the American Midwest * PDQ (game show), an American television game show which aired from 1966 to 1969 * PDQ Chocolate, a flavored drink mix * PDQ Manufacturing, a car wash manufacturer * PDQ terminal, terminals which process credit and debit card transactions * Prose Descriptive Qualities, a role-playing game system * PDQ, a code name of specific models of the Apple Powe...
I just honestly thought that since it was something from before I was born, that most folks knew what it meant

I knew what it meant but not what it stood for.

Anyone else experiencing problems with web sockets atm?
I see a series of requests to sockets.ny.stackexchange.com, all state pending, nothing actually connecting.
Both FF and Chrome..
[23:13:25.268] Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ws://sockets.ny.stackexchange.com/. @ cdn.sstatic.net/js/full.js?v=4890977376c7:13
