For anyone wondering about the large amount of Community bumps today: what most likely happened is that a user who'd voted on a lot of answers to prevent the questions from being bumped was deleted.

But wasn't there a process that in case of high-rep user being removed, preserve the votes by transferring them to Community?
Maybe now with so few CM's left, they ditched it, can't blame them.
(it's a manual and complex operation, from what I remember, not automatic or simple.)
Personally the rep loss isn't affecting me at all, but if hundreds of other users also lose rep, sometimes even 200 makes a big difference when you have only e.g. 300.

@rene well yeah but maybe the factor should also be how many users are affected, e.g. if user with 1M rep who almost never voted shouldn't go through the process, while 50k rep user who voted for 1000 users should go through it to preserve those votes.

Keep in mind, though, that voting for reasons other than the post itself is not considered a valid reason for voting and a past record of it is usually a reason staff will invalidate votes after review.

Voting on answers for the sole purpose of preventing questions from being bumped is such a rationale.
There's also a past case where votes weren't preserved, where a user had been using votes to push questions to Roomba.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog still, if there are many other, valid, votes, they should be preserved, it's not the fault of those who got the valid rep.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Sometimes such users cast "legitimate" votes in the hope of disguising their illegitimate ones, i.e., ones they wouldn't have otherwise cast had they not been trying to cast the illegitimate ones.
