@Catija are you okay with being pinged with support-like questions about things about site mechanics and other related things that you would probably know due to your experience?
also, how are you doing lately?

ugh
I got one of those wierd grey-area problems
My dad uses a website for some of his media needs, and I'd like him to be able to access it via his smart TV. There's no android TV app (though there's a phone one) , so I figure there'd be a browser for it. Most of the ones seem dodgy, or are not free, and the one that seemed ok... has strange zooming problems
and I've no idea (amusingly as a former mod) if its on topic for SR, so I'll need to ask
also needing to turn on a TV to test things is annoying
08:43
@JourneymanGeek Not sure you're asking in the right place then :P
lol
I'm just thinking aloud cause it was too quiet
and asked on SR
09:20
Ah. :) It is very quiet in here at times, that's true :)

@JNat Asking again, and this time to you specifically (and I assume you can guess why). Given the current way the site works, how does the company expect users to fix accepted answers to abandoned questions that have been made invalid (NON just obsolete) ? Just let the site provide wrong info, look the other side and hope the original OP will fix their answer? Because most of the time the probability of someone returning to the post to update the info are close to zero.
NOTE: this is NOT about code, so please don't turn this in the usual "framework version, still relevant SO-centric answer"
10:56
@SPArcheon What changed in how the site works? Can people not edit?
@terdon Start here:

Q: How do we encourage edits to obsolete/out of date answers?

TarynAs the network ages and we have answers that are 7+ years old, we run into situations where changes in technology, etc. result in a once great answer becoming out-of-date, obsolete, or somewhat problematic. We don’t want to lose or delete these answers, due to legacy applications that still need...

Short version: answer made invalid by new events in an Anime.
Nov 9 at 13:45, by Tinkeringbell
@SPArcheon Edit them, preferably some kind of timeline-y fashion?
followed suggestion to the best of my understanding, rejected by employee as "changing answer intent"
Final result: accepted answer still wrong, +1 token to my "why should I waste time helping" stack.
@SPArcheon sounds like something that should be taken to meta. I doubt JNat was acting as an employee there. More likely they acted as a long time Anime site user and ex mod.
I think by now it is a Meta.SE topic, not Anime.
Why? I mean, it sounds like a dispute over a specific edit, right?
But I already know that if I was to post it here it would be hijacked by the usual idiotic SO-centric view
@terdon True, but that issue is relevant for every site.
On SO you have the standard "Excuse" "yes but software version is relevant" so you fix it by claiming "this was the appropriate answer for this version of the tool"
But for most other sites it is nonsense
Suppose you have a book and a character dies. Someone ask what happens and the correct answer is to say they died.
Then, two books later the character is revealed to have survived
11:04
@SPArcheon I'd just post a new answer, referencing the old one, and mention how things got changed - or if you're particularly brave, ask a new question referencing the old one mentioning the old one is obsolete, then self answer
@JourneymanGeek there is already a correct answer and I already paid my rep tax to downvote every wrong answer. But the correct one has 2 vote, the accepted 7
@SPArcheon but the specifics matter. I have no idea if I, personally, would have accepted your edit for instance. It depends on how it was done etc. So asking on the local Meta seems like the right thing to do since this is a specific content dispute.
@JourneymanGeek Based on how the site works, user will be presented with the wrong, accepted, high voted answer.
and we assume users will actually look past that?
11:26
@SPArcheon "Did Tink's idea" is usually not the way to go about it when I'm talking about sites I have no activity on. If that's not what Anime wants, it doesn't suddenly become a good idea just because I said so.
Had I known you would just go do stuff, I'd have kept my thoughts to myself.
I thought we were having a general discussion, just with a specific example.
@Tinkeringbell I wasn't accusing of you of anything, just pointing out that it seemed quite reasonable.
Yeah well I can make loads of things seem reasonable, that doesn't make them good.
@Tinkeringbell I would say that your idea is far more good than "post another answer and hope it will become the accepted one"
'Get rid of sticky accepted answers' is another option.
That way it won't be shown on top, and users can filter for 'newest'
The "obsolete answer" vote/flag some suggested is yet another, but those require dev work and therefore are even less realistic
11:39
@Tinkeringbell that's been done on most sites, right? It's a site option.
17
Q: Would you like to have the accepted answer pinned or unpinned on UNIX & Linux?

Jeff SchallerI've just been made aware of Unpinning the accepted answer from the top of the list of answers where it says: Currently we are planning to move forward with one of two scenarios, based on your feedback: Unpin the accepted answer on all SE sites by default and pin it back on a few sites that ask...

12:00
@terdon I think so, yes. meta.stackexchange.com/a/369914/369802 the list of sites that wanted to keep is short, and the default (IIRC) became 'unpinned'? I see the post was updated to say that didn't happen after all
@SPArcheon I couldn't guess why, no β€” had to read a bit to understand that this is actually a dispute over a suggested edit. I don't understand why you're asking me what the company feels about this. Nor why this is not a conversation had on either the Anime site's Meta or main chat room.
if I'm not acting according to that specific community's guidelines for circumstances such as these, then let's have that discussion where that community can weigh in, and I'll correct my approach in the future. Alternatively, I didn't act against the community's guidelines, and we had a useful discussion for that community.
@JNat Because I assumed your single-handed reject was done as an employee and not as a standard (mod) user. My bad. As for "why here" it is because I don't care to get that edit made anymore (I mean, I tried, I failed, I don't have more time to fight windmills) but I do want to know what the company would suggest to handle this cases.
That answer is accepted and it is *objectively wrong thanks to new plot details. It is accepted, so it gains more visibility than the correct one. How do you expect to fix this?
As I said, even if you post a correct one that won't fix the fact that the accepted one is wrong. Changing the accepted answer is something only the OP can do... and usually they will be gone by now.
@SPArcheon While I understand your frustration, I think you're framing this in a way that contributes further to it. I was a member of that community way before I was an employee β€” I was there from day one, and one of the original mods. I think you know very well that it is not a part of the job description to go through the suggested edits queue, which suggests that any time a staff member does that, they're doing it as a community member.
Now, if you think I shouldn't do it because I have a diamond, that's a different matter and one that should, again, be discussed in that community's Meta site.
There's no "what the company would suggest" here β€” that's you still misreading my action as that of an employee
No, you are still misunderstanding mine. You said you weren't acting as an employee there and that I accept (that would bring the question: are you also an elected mod on Anime? Because you still rejected an edit with a single vote thanks to the diamond) .
My question here is asking to the company what should be done in those case. Picked you out because like I said 1) I assumed you were acting as an employee and presenting an official position on the topic and 2) you are an employee so even if that wasn't official maybe you can get some insight on this.
I think the issue is clear, right now we have no way to "remove" accepted obsolete answers turned wrong.
@SPArcheon but why would the company have anything to say about how that specific community wants to handle this issue?
different communities may come to different conclusions on this, as you yourself identified that SO handles this in their own way
mind you: yes, changes to the software can help here, and I'm not discarding this
12:12
@JNat Because for once this doesn't seem something that should be left to the community. This is an issue that impacts every site where info about a topic can change without any way to attribute those to a specific version of a framework.
assume the edit had been rejected by the community. Would you still feel like you were fighting windmills? Or would you have gone to their Meta to discuss?
@JNat I would still have brought it up here for the reason I just mentioned.
@SPArcheon if a random assortment of users from that community had rejected that edit you would have pinged me here to ask me what the company thought of that rejection, and how those cases should be handled?
@JNat well, that should be clear base on the previous answer... The one where I said "it was a single vote rejection so I assumed it was an employee action" - so no, I wouldn't have pinged you but I would probably have mentioned it here still.
if you wanna talk about it in the context of the Anime site alone, again, I recommend discussing it on their Meta. If you wanna talk about it more broadly, on the network level, I'd recommend looking for existing posts on MSE, and potentially starting your own discussion.
I know outdated content is something that's been thought about in the Teams context for a while, and I see it was an area of focus for a few quarters 'til mid 2022.
I don't remember what came out of it
to set expectations properly: I honestly don't know if working on this is gonna be prioritized or not
12:26
The only thing I recall that came out of it was the "trending" answer sort option for SO.
13:22
Alas, they did nothing in the end.

A: How to deal with obsolete answers?

Mark HurdSpeaking of out-of-date answers, now that you can't change your up-vote/down-vote after 5 minutes, only new eyes can add new votes to an answer, until the answer is edited. So an answer that was correct and got up-votes for it, but is now wrong, will only get down-votes if new viewers notice the...

here someone also notices that you can't change your vote on an answer if it becomes invalid
You would need someone to edit it.
Why not keep it simple? If popular answer becomes obsolete or wrong, and there is a better/correct answer, just edit the wrong answer and add a note on top e.g. "Note, [explanation here], see [link to correct answer]."
Don't change the wrong answer to be correct, as it was probably correct when posted, but do refer the readers to the changes and the correct answer.
Ideally there'll be official post notice for that triggered by flags and/or mods, but meh, edits should be fine as well.
13:37
@starball generally, that's fine. Probably depends on how quickly you need an answer. I'm not around as much since I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do now. I'm still checking in most days, just don't get pings live since the app is dead.
@SPArcheon technically they created the new sort option for this purpose. It's just only on SO.
@JNat they have the pseudo lock for questions (only for some very confusing reason). You have to create a new question and mark the old one as obsolete.
@Catija only in Teams?
@Catija well you can keep a browser tab open with this chat, then you'll hear whenever you're pinged. ;-)
e.g. I think @g3r has a tab open and now heard my ping. What's up, @g3r? :-)
A customizable answer post notice would be the simplest solution. It could be created through a queue similar to the close review queue and the reason in the post notice could be created within that process. E.G. "This answer has been marked obsolete because it was correct when written but changes since then have rendered it incorrect based on current understanding"
Yep that's what I meant here.
... that's a more general one but you could make it more specific like "This was the correct answer at the time but is not due to significant retconning." or "this was correct for version 3.2 but newer answers explain how to solve this problem in the current release of the product"
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry o/
13:48
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry Yes. .... technically they accidentally released it to public, too and it was likely part of what broke locks a couple of months ago. I got the CE team to prioritize fixing it to remove the obsolete lock from public along with fixing the other locks.
@Catija Yeah, and each site can have list of possible options for that post notice. Won't be easy to develop though. :/
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry then you have yet another potential link to something that could change.
@SPArcheon true, and that correct answer can also be edited when needed. Yes there might be chain of answers, but what's different from dupe chain? It happens, and it's fine, IMO.
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry relies on the sound being on and the tab being active. Chrome is now sleeping some tabs that are less used, which I'm guessing may prevent such notifications. I'm also not always at my computer. Doing a lot more stuff away from home.
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry If you have to fix the obsolete answer to add a link, then you may as well change it to add a timeline:
13:51
@Catija oh it doesn't ping when on mobile? (never tried actually)
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry eh. They have a lot of prior art to build on. The UI for creating custom close reasons seems like it could be reused here. And it's pretty recent.
@SPArcheon well yes that would work too, but I actually prefer to just hop between the answers, this way learn the history of whatever it is that changed over time.
> **New answer as of ##/##/#####
...... text here ......
Old answer:
...... text here ......
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry Not on iPhones as far as I'm aware.
@Catija :(
@g3rv4 oh, hi! How's your kid doing? Ready to become a programmer already? :D
13:52
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry cause that wasn't the intent of the poster, and not everyone is cool about wholesale changes
@Catija well so we can hope. :)
Example to show that this is not just Anime but potentially anything: Just ask if Monkey Island is just someone playing pretend.
@JourneymanGeek but my point is that you don't change anything, just adding a notice.
But, generally, yes. There's nothing like closing for answers. I could see value in something like "this solution may work but it's widely discouraged as it's insecure and may lead to system vulnerabilities"
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry to some that's worse ;)
13:54
@JourneymanGeek pity, but guess each site can decide in the meta, or just the site mods between themselves.
@SPArcheon that game pissed me off. I played the new one and the ending was πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry sometimes even community consensus isn't enough to keep people happy
@Catija πŸ’πŸ’©?
@JourneymanGeek many times, of course. Can't make them all happy.
Is Monkey Island plot just two kids playing?
First game: nope.
Second game: yes Guybrush is playing with his brother
Third game: actually that was a curse and was fake
Final game: I AM RON GILBERT AND I HATE YOU AND I WILL HAVE IT MY WAY it is fake.
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry suppose there was a question about this, you want a four level deep link chain?
WE MUST GO DEEPER
13:56
@SPArcheon well yes, I'll prefer this over a long list in the oldest answer.
and an oldest to newest duplicate chain isn't a bad thing
@SPArcheon I mean... hopefully the question is specific to the version... I think I'd either edit the question to focus on the game/s that existed when it was asked or make a minor edit to the answer to specify it's only about 1.
@JourneymanGeek he wasn't suggesting dupe, he was suggesting adding a new up to date answer and a link in the "current" one
@SPArcheon which is also what I suggested
since you would want to explain why that answer is wrong
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry hehehe, we're making an effort for her not to have too much access to technology yet. There's plenty of time for that :) how are you doing?
13:59
(though as a collerary, there's a specific answer on SFF which I've kept updated through multiple seasons of a show)
@Catija That was just an extreme example. See the question I mentioned before "What type is Luffy fruit". Accepted answer is "Paramecia"... which was correct until Wano end and G5
@SPArcheon same concept
@g3rv4 Computers are a mistake :D
@SPArcheon hence the retconning example. 😬
@g3rv4 lost battle, you know. But actually since she's the first, guess you can make it for few years. Our youngest was hooked to screens since she was 2 years old, the oldest only since 6 or so. As for me generally, doing fine considering the turmoil all over, kind of living in a bubble, at least that's the feeling. :/
14:02
@Catija Tecnically, you can't even call it "retcon", it is more of the usual "yes until no" thing. See MLP comics for example. Officially "canon unless the show contradicts them"
So, "Siege of the Crystal Empire" was canon to the show... until the last season. (don't worry, I won't bore you with the details)
I think the difficulty in this situation is the accepted status... the only way to remove it is to delete the answer. Otherwise your only option is to edit it. The other solution in Teams is that Admins can change the accepted answer in specific cases.
@Catija That is exactly the point...
@SPArcheon I feel like you're quibbling over specifics that are not really important to the discussion.
yep, what I mean is just that you don't even need a "retcon", just incomplete info at the time.
I can't remember whether they can change any accepted answer or only in cases where the author is not on the Team anymore... but it would be a difficult thing to introduce on public. Though maybe simpler to just allow mods to remove the check mark rather than moving it to another answer.
@SPArcheon the concept would be something akin to custom close reasons, with some general ones as existing option, so the flexibility to be specific to the situation would be there regardless.
14:08
@Catija Yep that would be great. Also, I would be perfectly fine if it required some voting and/or mod approval.
Anyway... while there's many viable options to address this, I'm not sure there's any interest in prioritizing it. The "simple" solution is to focus on the accepted status rather than a post notice system for answers.
But I think it's a potentially risky tool to give mods, particularly on sites where they're unlikely to have the SME knowledge to even determine whether the accepted status should be removed.
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry first and last! so we have a chance :) <3
lol
Depends on the environment
it was soooo much easier when everything wasn't a computer
14:27
@g3rv4 :D
I still have hope for you though. :-P
@g3rv4 We decided to stop at 2 so we wouldn't be outnumbered and sometimes I wish we had stopped at 1 but Gus is just too cute to miss out on. πŸ₯Ή
Bonus points for linking to the FAQ about taglines and salutations
@Catija well, I agree, if it was up to me we would also stop at 2, but alas, we all know who really decide on those things. ;-)
Evening. What did I miss?
@M.A.R. fruitful discussions
yummy yum
14:50
So nothing important then
The taste of obsolete answers, mainly. :D
@M.A.R. Ranting, lot of ranting.
Also, MY ranting, so you obviously want to read it. Guarantee top quality rants.
And keeping JNat busy!
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry was that pun intended? :D
Now backlog is big again. :(
@JourneymanGeek actually no! checking what the pun is
14:52
So nothing to help me come up with new roasts.
thought not
that would indicate an awareness of pop culture
Paramecia are not purple to my knowledge
I can think only of Fruit of the Loom, but doubt it's relevant? @Journeyman ;-)
Cells usually don't have colorful stuff in them.
14:53
nope
well...
@JourneymanGeek pity, they have awesome underwear. :P
the question that @SPArcheon was talking about was about One Piece, and something called devil fruit in it
Hence fruitful
@JourneymanGeek ohhh. lol!
@SPArcheon looks like a smoke bomb made in ancient China
14:54
@M.A.R. If you need something fruitful to roast, I recommend pineapple.
@Tinkeringbell on a pizza.
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry I think my ancient battletech/virtualworld shirt (which I've owned since I was 18) was made by them
@Tinkeringbell THE DEVIL'S FRUIT!
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry Nah, that's a waste of perfectly good pineapple.
@M.A.R. I was hoping you would say something like "that is not a paramecia" just to reply "That is exactly what the rant was about"
@JourneymanGeek huh! And what happened to it?
14:55
(unless there's no tomato on the pizza)
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry I still have it
Why would anyone call it a type of paramecia anyway?
@Tinkeringbell pizza with no tomato is like beef without beef! ;)
@SPArcheon well I have my own rant about smoke bombs in ancient China
14:56
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry there's white pizza
@Tinkeringbell I still say you should find 5 minutes to play the free game "Pineapple on pizza"...
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry bbq sauce pizza can be good :)
@JourneymanGeek oh, awesome! But does it fit on you? ;)
@JourneymanGeek fake pizza
14:56
Now I want a bbq sauce pizza but there's no place to order one from :( (I'm boycotting the local NY Pizza)
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry actually its traditional
@Tinkeringbell try the bulldog tonkatsu sauce instead.
@JourneymanGeek good for you... I used to be M and at some point turned L in the shirts, so the old shirts don't fit anymore. cries
@Tinkeringbell I have not thought about doing anything to pineapples besides shoving them in my mouth before the juice gets anywhere
I just buy XL
even when I'm skinnier
14:58
@JourneymanGeek maybe, but calling it pizza is a crime against pizza! :D
@M.A.R. Roasting them is nice. You can put spices on it first too!
Also the skill involved in eating just the edible part and not the parts that are polite wood
which hasn't been a while. the weather has been doing a number on me, and the other little fun health scare
Heh, yeah. Pineapple gets messy quick.
@JourneymanGeek even when you was 18?! :D
14:58
yup
I was a little tubby before the army
went down to 75, which was my skinniest, then gained weight again
Good for the shirts then. :P
75 is my max so far.
@Tinkeringbell this keeps getting weirder
@M.A.R. Ever heard of ananasi? :P
15:00
But I'm tempted. I had lentil stew which tasted like, well, it didn't taste like anything at all.
Added pineapple would probably have improvd it then!
> Ananasi are werespiders, one of the surviving Changing Breeds of the World of Darkness. They call themselves Damhàn
Sounds good. ^
@Tinkeringbell oh yeah, East Germany intelligence
I remember mom putting bits of pineapple in the tomato soup when I was younger, it was a tolerable tomato dish ;)
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry named after an east african god
15:01
@M.A.R. Basically nasi goreng but while most dishes here use chicken, this dish uses spiced (with curry powder) bits of pineapple that you then roast in a pan for a bit before adding to the final dish ;)
@JourneymanGeek due to an unusually high number of kidneys, I don't have compulsory military service.
Oh
I had a kidney stone a few weeks back
Did you use paper?
Whoop, killed chat
@JourneymanGeek so how are you feeling?
15:07
had about 3 days of what felt like gas... a day of more.. obvious symptioms and I'm fine
> We're looking across the calendar year and seeing how much our team has accomplished and where we need to double down on efforts in the months ahead.
ominous music
@JourneymanGeek so the stone passed?
I would go easy on protein and salt for a while
Also eat high potassium stuff. Fruit, potatoes.
@Tinkeringbell okay so pineapple, rice, goat meat, and spices? I have mixed feelings about that
@JourneymanGeek oh no, another kidney stone?
15:10
My mom has cut back on salt a lot but I tend to have salt cravings a lot (which I resist)
my diet's supposedly fairly healthy
@M.A.R. No goat. The pineapple replaces the goat ;) Add some veggies too, a carrot, bell pepper and onion are staples here.
I even eat cheese like once a month only
@JourneymanGeek you're thinking about it too much
maybe
also been trying to up my water intake
I feel like sweet food has to justify itself when it's with food full of starch (rice, bread)
15:13
@Feeds πŸ’©
11
@M.A.R. justify itself how?
With facts and logic
Of course I have no problem eating sweetstuff until I turn into a hot air balloon
And my corticosteroid isn't helping
@M.A.R. And what facts and logic would pineapple need to be a replacement for meat in a dish? :P
@Tinkeringbell about why it wants to be part of the dish and what it can bring to the table
We need team players
@M.A.R. Well, if you're used to having chunks of chicken every other bite, and you want a vegetarian dish, now you need other chunks. Pineapple can be those chunks!
And pineapple has waaaaay more taste than chicken.
15:22
Real men eat real red meat until they get gout, and then keep eating until it goes away in a mixture of shame and admiration
Not a problem, I am no man ;)
To be fair to myself they've been overusing this spice I can't quite place in the uni cafeteria and I've for the moment grown a deep hatred of creative food
@Tinkeringbell oh no don't stab me with the sword
@M.A.R. Hahaha I'd call ananasi far from 'creative'. If you want creative, you need to jump on the crompouce hype :P
The lentil was so tasteless I owed it some spice instead
@Tinkeringbell why do I not wanna look that up
@M.A.R. Heh, that sounds like any kind of bean. Needs spice or sauce or both and loads of it to be palatable.
@M.A.R. Well the 'crompouce' isn't too bad, but if I were you I'd stay away from all the other dishes these 'entrepreneurs' are adding 'pouce' to :P
15:28
All I know is Krampus and Santa don't get along, and I'm on the old men providing welfare programs side
@Tinkeringbell Could be useful if you are someone third evil ex and need to keep your vegan powers?
@JourneymanGeek ^ my pop culture jokes are better :P. Remember: the point is to confuse as many users as possibile
And then.... Natto.
But to be fair I am unsure those can still be called "Beans"
Probably something more like "Invasion of the body snatchers"
15:58
@JourneymanGeek ouch. Treated already?
@JourneymanGeek oh, good!
16:44
@ShadowWizardIsSadAndAngry you can give up that hope, I had a vasectomy
@Catija <3 my wife wanted 2, I wanted 1. We had Amelia and we didn't need to talk to come to an agreement :)
@g3rv4 HAHAHAHA. Yeah. If we'd waited to discuss it until Bennett was 3 or 4, we would have made the same call.
@Catija ugh, a pile of it... I wasn't counting on him making it this long honestly
17:22
@Catija thanks! I was curious about the exact timings in this post about when mod elections happen. I left a comment there about it. would you mind taking a look?
also, any updates on the process of figuring out what you want to do now?
@starball That entire answer is wrong, anyway.
@Catija welp
@starball I want to work with community/user groups in a way that can actually impact the product they're using. I'm not quite sure what that is, though. Some companies call them CMs, some put Product Managers in direct community contact... but I'm not quite sure. Open to any thoughts people have :D
4
17:45
@starball Better?
@Catija reading right now.
thanks for the edit
> There must be a period of at least 6 months between the prior election and the next one
end of the prior election? beginning of nomination of the prior one? beginning of voting of the prior one?
imean, that's just a 2 week window isn't it?
i doubt there's business logic there that will make it fail to start due to being a few days early or late.
@starball I mean... you're being a bit pedantic about it? If we're at 5 months we will just usually hold off one more month if it's not urgent. It's a guideline.
@Catija I also see you took out the part about CMs checking up on the mod team on the anniversary of the previous election. is that part no longer true?
@Catija alrighty
I guess if you need a date, it's the date the winners are announced but ... if there are no runners-up, then it's kinda moot anyway :P
17:55
@Catija lmao
CMs generally were checking in with mod teams quarterly, but it's not specific to elections, so if the mods ask for one at that point... cool... but I don't think anyone would specifically ask about election needs as far as I'm aware.
> Hey, do you guys need us dedicate company time to the community?
don't ask questions you don't want the answer to?
@KevinB Where's that?
sorry, i was referring to CM's asking Moderators directly if they felt more mods were needed on a regular basis
given it's not cheap on CM time to run an election
18:11
It's actually pretty easy now... well... it was easy before two of the people who'd run them the most frequently were laid off. For standard elections I'd say it only requires about 2 hours over the three weeks... if lots of questions get asked or there's flags or moderation that needs to happen it can take more. That's pretty rare, though.
