@MetaAndrewT. To be fair, making stuff up and passing it off as fact is nothing new for religion.
Don’t speak ill of the spaghetti monster, our humble leader.

@MetaAndrewT. Here are a couple of related articles I found a few months ago: interestingengineering.com/innovation/… & medium.com/backyard-theology/…

hehe still not more than my inbox unread items! 1167 vs. 1200 :P
@MetaAndrewT. nah. Not more disturbing than millions worshippers of spaghetti around the world. Lost souls (literally, IRL) would hook to anything, and find their "destiny" there. Now it's the turn of AI to become a religion, but as the world didn't end when spaghetti god arised, it won't end with that silly new trend as well.
It will end due to AI, sure, but in other methods.
@BigJoe maybe in the first few weeks, but over time... well, it's just some annoying banner popping for everyone.

@BigJoe I get uncharacteristically happy
@EleezatheOtherWorldWizard Pascal's been dead for 350 years so yes, kinda old
10:15
@M.A.R. that's the pill, not the hour.
:D
@M.A.R. impossible, I've used Pascal... 20 years ago.
@EleezatheOtherWorldWizard I learned a bit about Ada. lol (huh, was sure it's upper case, but it's not.)
Ada is a structured, statically typed, imperative, and object-oriented high-level programming language, inspired by Pascal and other languages. It has built-in language support for design by contract (DbC), extremely strong typing, explicit concurrency, tasks, synchronous message passing, protected objects, and non-determinism. Ada improves code safety and maintainability by using the compiler to find errors in favor of runtime errors. Ada is an international technical standard, jointly defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the International Electrotechnic...
Note: about, we didn't learn how to use it. ;)

Weekend sign #2955: number of signers doesn't rise when reloading the page. :(
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack I notice the page now shows subtotals, that's an improvement.
11:26
@ElementsinSpace this?
> Total signed: 113 moderators, 17 former moderators & staff, and 1039 regular users.
Pretty sure it was there from day 1. :)
But... not sure....
Maybe day 3... ;)
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack Yes. I'm sure it wasn't.
hmm
@mousetail when did you add sub totals to the open letter page? Thanks! :)
Sign @rene is away for long time: he didn't even post the weekly "stay alive" message in the chat rooms. Some might actually freeze soon.
(including trash can, where I can't help myself as it's gallery)
@rene hope you're fine! Did you take the strike to some next level? ;)
12:11
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack That was the work of @OlegValteriswithUkraine, thank them
@mousetail thanks, @Oleg :)
But when was it added?
Like 1 hour ago it was merged
oh lol
Thought it was there already
@mousetail any other new features then?
You can sort the list of names
While in it, @mousetail what about this feature request: have a tooltip over the diamond showing which site(s) that user moderates. :)
@mousetail Oleg too? ;)
12:29
Both of us contributed
Also Sam helped a lot with the layout
Awesome! Team work is the best work. :)
@Sam isn't pingable. :(
Sam Saffron? ;)
In the meanwhile, Schönfeld sticks to homepage...
@Mithical pin?
Also, @Mithical is there a list of the strike organizers? Didn't know Nick is one, for example.
Not really. There are a lot of people involved. Nick is one of the Discord mods, though, who have de facto been handling a lot of the coordination.
14:25
I'm myself super involved
Like, without my incantations, none of this would be possible
@M.A.R. your inca what?
Isn't this some lost tribe of gods?
The part about the optics is exactly where my head is at - if quality no longer matters it's unclear why I'm here. And I'm really struggling to read it any other way. — Flexo Jun 7 at 21:32
Ahh, to be fair, hasn't it been like that since 2013?
Radical ideas like pearls over sand are sooo 2010. Nowadays we have TikTok
Teens are indeed eww sips adult beverage
@M.A.R. actually most eww-ness are the adults being pathetic...
Teens dancing is the less worse stuff there. ;)
14:42
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack OD'ing on Benadryl wh-wha yeah sure sure
@M.A.R. nah trying to get likes

@MetaAndrewT. Honestly, with the restrictions on it that make politically correct, it probably did a massively better job than some of the preachers my parents made me listen to...

3 hours later…
20:12
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack morning, NP! :)
20:39
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack credit for the solution goes to @mousetail - I made the initial version that was server-side, but it was ultimately rejected in favor of a client-side solution mainly for concerns over usage of first-party cookies to make it work without JS.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack we have a privacy policy now xD
21:35
@OlegValteriswithUkraine night actually, and cheers! ;)
@OlegValteriswithUkraine huh, nice. ;)
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack cheers :) well, technically, it's early night for me too, but my sleep schedule is as 'effed up as relationship between us and the company right now.
21:48
@OlegValteriswithUkraine lol, why? Flights? So you're in Europe? 12:48am here now.
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack nah, just general incompetence at time management xD It's 12:53 AM for me too
22:04
@OlegValteriswithUkraine Russia! Well, that's mid night, unless you plan to stay awake all night, then maybe can be early for you. ;)
(I plan to watch Law&Order episode then go to sleep, i.e. ~1 hour.)
@ShadowWizardStrikesBack yup, Saint Petersburg, to be precise :) Plan to, slept through the day, and there's heaps of work to do...
