Hey, I noticed you purged the comments on meta.stackexchange.com/a/385549/377214. Unfortunately, this broke my link citations in this answer of mine. Is it possible you can temporarily undelete the two comments linked there, onebox them in the sandbox room, and re-delete them, and then edit the links to link to the chat messages?
The same comment as the second link in my answer is linked to in this FAQ answer. Can you please edit the link there to link to the chat message as well?
@JourneymanGeek ^

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog comments are transient things
I edited out the mention of the hacky extended suspension because we're explicitly told not to do it, and that makes the entire thread obsolete
and I'm not going to go out of my way to preserve them

@JourneymanGeek Well, it's the only statement from staff that's not in private moderator space that it shouldn't be used. I agree the comment is NLN, which is why I'm asking for it to be re-deleted once a copy is posted into chat so those citation links can be unbroken.
In other words, the only reason the comment is being removed now is because it's out of place - but it doesn't mean the record of the statement itself should be wiped.
It would have been nicer, since the discussion was ongoing, to move the whole comment thread into chat, but that's OK.

Only mods can use it
as such, its not really 'important' that its public knowledge

@JourneymanGeek I was mostly thinking that in case some user comes across an older suspension issued from times before the guideline existed and is wondering why, or hears from a moderator who previously used it and wasn't aware of the new guideline.

begone, spam!

3:05 AM
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog In which case they can mind their own business.

3:48 AM
@JourneymanGeek Yes, Should we trust it?

@Pandya Its open source - so you can answer the question yourself if you knew the language.
But seems alright, its someone's hobby project and he's fairly responsive on its github. Not many releases/updates lately which is concerning, and quite a few 'basic' features we're used to from the old app, like notifications and even posting are not there

hmm
@ShadowWizardChasingStars I'm seeing 198 status-review tagged posts on MSE. I'm wondering if I'm bored enough to go through all of them :D
some are (ex) staff tagged tho

@JourneymanGeek Those that haven't seen activity since the escalation process was introduced in mid-March 2020 haven't resulted in internal tickets
Officially if one wants to escalate one of those, a mod should raise a CM message, but it was later revealed that editing any such question would result in a ticket being created

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog You're missing the context
My fault maybe - but shadow was complaining there was no point in retagging, and there was possibly no one looking at them

Ah, since it was a plain ping and not a reply, I didn't have a link to the context

Yes, I was pinging shadow for a reason
Also you need to remember If I don't know how something moddy works, I can look it up. I do have the internal documentation mods have, and generally that gets attention if needed.
Or ask a meta question. I'm vaguely good at that
so it DID get attention - just its not documented at all
And I've not gotten any 'educational' emails since
But yes, in theory I can 'skip' anything before mid-march 2020
that guesstimates to under a hundred fifty questions
@JNat stackexchange.com/users/22947141/… one more for the backlog

@JourneymanGeek I doubt it, but we can always hope.
@SPArcheon yeah those are fine, and you can totally work in sales, you're wasted as a developer. :D
@KevinB there was recent change in the inbox, opening it won't dismiss the notifications anymore.
You must actually click the item to mark it as read.
@JourneymanGeek that's scam, they claim "Stack is powered by Stack Overflow" which is a lie. (At least for me it means it's another official SO app.)

@ShadowWizardChasingStars well literally all it is is a front end for SO
well SE
I think a broader point is - well its nowhere near 'usable' for day to day usage like the old app was

@JourneymanGeek so? It's not powered by it, that's outright lie.
Would flag that app if I could.

@ShadowWizardChasingStars \o/
I merely provided opinions context :D
since I have the app installed (and yes, its still not updated since 2020, as you previously complained)

@JourneymanGeek well add to that average of 5 in other meta sites, and you get 1000.

@ShadowWizardChasingStars I'm nooooot going to look through every one

9:15 AM
And yes, CM's often throw items to the review queue, but what for? It just stay there.

and to some extent - what action is needed varies

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog you're right, thanks for the ping - I built an exception for those links a couple of years ago, but apparently it doesn't work anymore.

@Glorfindel how can you tell via code if image is dynamic?

@ShadowWizardChasingStars I can't - I just exclude the stack-exchange-dynamic-ads.herokuapp.com domain ...

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog last time that script ran, the HTTPS links to dynamic ads still worked (and the script just had to do a http:// --> https:// replacement). It'll be fixed in a new version.
