@starball Interesting premise (the "Dante's Inferno" parallel), intriguing plot elements (time slows down as you descend? does this really mean that the bottom of the Abyss is an event horizontal similar to a black hole?).... and utterly disturbing execution.

Usually Junji Ito's Uzumaki is regarded as a borderline traumatizing horror manga, with urban legends about people developing an actual fear for spirals after reading it.

IMO Made in Abyss is far worse.

It is like a mix between the Goonies and Alien.
