Sure, why not?
Posting on meta is a skill and you often post popular answers to unpopular questions
2

True, or post very popular questions that have something against the company xD
my highest scoring Q is definetly populistic: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/339074/…

1:23 PM
@JourneymanGeek Yeah, I really am a parrot according to my fitbit :P

@JourneymanGeek me? :P

@DialFrost people who got lots of reversals when you could still get the badge
you're not getting one, ever
(they retired the badge)

@Tinkeringbell you wear your watch to bed?

@Luuklag Who doesn't?

@Mithical I never do.
I also never wear a watch in the first place

1:37 PM
...I mean, okay :P

@Luuklag I mean, it's meant to be, and I don't have an alarm clock that shows the time (not without blinding me :P) so it's basically always there, yes.
It's also not a 'watch'. It's a fitness tracker :P
If I do wear a proper watch, I do take it off before sleep, and then put on the fitbit again :P

which reminds me
I need to reinstall the app for my watch on my phone, which resets it ._.
and it keeps happening each time my phone updates ._.
@JNat looks like someone filled out the empty question :D

1:57 PM
@JourneymanGeek :(

@DialFrost not entirely
the reasons for retiring the badge were quite sound

@ShadowTheKidWizard That is high praise :D

@JourneymanGeek yup, I saw it! ^_^

@JNat hey shouldn't you be making a status-review guidance xD

@Luuklag I am! I was working on the stats this morning
now I need to ask around internally for what to include in the guidance

2:02 PM
!!/tea

@V2Blast brews a cup of mint tea for @V2Blast

@JNat probably the stacks editor is the only thing xD

@Luuklag there is no spammer, only zuuuul
@Luuklag lol that means there's less stuff I can sneak into status-review >_>

An event-driven architecture can reduce dependencies, increase safety, and make your application easy to scale. But designing your systems and topics is a non-trivial task

How many issues are there going to be with this blog post
And I haven't seen any reaction on the previous one from staff, right?

@Luuklag not yet
and tbh, its probably going to be a bit sticky sorting that out?

@JourneymanGeek yeah, they probably need to retract the blog post all together, and quit accepting articles from the author in question.

@Luuklag well and..
Ideally some kinda review process

but SE is a high impact domain, so articles like this tend to get high up in search engines quite fast, and you wouldn't want that when it is incorrect
@JourneymanGeek +1

2:20 PM
but even if the people running the blog were technical (which might not be entirely true), they're not going to know everything about everything

@JourneymanGeek I wouldn't expect so either, but some form of review would be nice

So its also about generally vetting who writes (and we got no visibility on that on our end) and getting someone to check it... which is somewhat at odds with what's traditionally been 'we need to knock out an article every <period of time>'
cause $deity, we've been complaining about the blog for years

Q: StackOverflow.Blog isn't that great

Journeyman GeekI've been here a while, and done a few rodeos and, the quality of blog posts feels like its hit rock bottom at times. I admit there's some great ones but considering Stack Overflow as a company is in a wee bit of a transition, it might be a good time to go "maybe you guys should revisit it". I d...

My wife writes her own blog about outings for kids in our region, she just tries to keep content ahead for 6-8 weeks, so in unforseen circumstances she doesn't run into trouble

2017 - I think we've gone through 2 sets of people who maintain the blog?

Although no-one would die when there goes a week without a new entry
@JourneymanGeek It's been Ryan something for as long as I can recall I think

2:26 PM
@Luuklag Rachel replaced the previous lot, and that's probably pre Ben Popper et al
@Luuklag eh yes and no

Ryan is from halfway october 2019

If, to quote "YOU ONLY HAD ONE JOB" ...

Yeah, let's blame Ryan M for the blog

atleast thats their earliest entry as an author

lol
I've been here so long that Jeff was writing all the blogs
and SF had their own awesome blog with writeups on the SE setup

2:27 PM
Well, those were all codinghorrors ...

Oh yeah, Ben Popper superceeds Ryan in seniority. His first entry is sept 2018

@rene well that's even further back but early SO blogs were Jeff too
(That said, I've probably been around SE longer than... most staff ._.)

@JourneymanGeek does Balpha outlive you?

@Luuklag possibly!
Yaakov does, tho I wasn't aware of it until later
@Luuklag possibly, and if not, its close enough
@Luuklag he's 13 years, I'm 12 years 10 months

I'm 5y 1m

2:36 PM
ya
I joined shortly after SU came out of beta
so not part of the super exclusive early adoptors
oddly enough found out about it on /.

And it's time for the daily riddle! Guess what happened here:
@JourneymanGeek on what?

Looks like some sort of cave-in beneath the pool.
That must've been terrifying for whoever was in there, cooling off after a hot day.

@ShadowTheKidWizard slashdot

@Spevacus good eye, that's exactly what it is. It sucked the pool water along with two people.

Yikes! I was joking about people being in there. That's so unlucky to be in the pool when that happened.
Are the two people okay?

2:48 PM
One escaped on his own, the other one still missing, and the fire fighters looking for him inside the caves.

Caves plural? There's an entire cave system beneath this pool?

@Spevacus worse, it was during pool party with 50 people.
@Spevacus now there is, yeah, and if it was there all the time, it explains the cave-in.

Damn.

The poor soul chances aren't great, but who knows... people got saved from worse situations. :)
@JourneymanGeek oh lol. You and your shortcuts. :D
@Spevacus the one who escaped got some bruises, but he's OK, yes.
Well one thing for sure, the people won't forget the party. :D

lol

2:53 PM
@Luuklag less than half of my time on SO/MSE ;)
@Luuklag 6-8 x 6-8
So between 36 and 64

tho admittedly I was more focused on SU at first

@ShadowTheKidWizard on SO I'm at 10y apparently

@rene lol well it's recorded but not on YT
it's on local media site behind tons of ads so I'll spare you, but you see the people aren't shocked at first, as they have no idea what's going on.

@Luuklag which isn't uncommon
I was 'early' on MSE cause there was no MSU

2:58 PM
@Luuklag oh, so that's almost like my time there. :)

Most people don't drift into meta unless they need to

@JourneymanGeek there wasn't meta site for SU and SF?
Didn't know that.

@ShadowTheKidWizard per site metas were a later thing
or something along those lines

Huh, well you learn something new every day. :D

apparently I joined SO on June 25th 2012

2:59 PM
@Luuklag what for?

No that's not true, yearling badges don't stick to the date
Erm yeah they do if you got plenty reputation, so it is true

@DialFrost buh, not even 100?! ;)

only the first few badges are delayed due to a lack of reputation

@Luuklag need 200 during the year to get the badge.

If you’ve been following our new Stack Exchange 2.0 private and public betas, you may have noticed that every new website launches with its own dedicated meta site. If we’ve learned anything (and I personally had to learn this lesson by having it beaten into me), it is that meta-discussion is an absolutely integral part…

3:01 PM
@ShadowTheKidWizard no not even during, just yearsx200

@ShadowTheKidWizard my account was created 09 :D

@JourneymanGeek nice find. ;)
@Luuklag oh, simple!

@ShadowTheKidWizard Oh I remembered it was there

@JourneymanGeek before me! o_O

@ShadowTheKidWizard well yes

3:02 PM
I was still on asp101 during 2009

I think I was depressed and bumming around at home around then? Or working for my dad, same diff

@V2Blast you deserve it! :-)
@JourneymanGeek heh. I got married at 2009. :D

@JourneymanGeek Making my account look young ;-)

@RyanM Unless you were a super early SO or SF user, or in the betas kinda hard to beat my account age
well not really, there's about 10+k users on SU before me :D

3:15 PM
My SO account is >1 year older than yours, but it's 2 months younger than your SU account.
(My SU account is over a year younger.)

@RyanM I don't even know why I'd have an SO account
I was SU and SF centric at first
then MSE and SU
my job sucks and I don't have time to do cool things so mostly MSE these days

1 hour later…
