@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron after some digging, looks like not used it for that long, but anyway it is avatar of a female, just not princess from Disney books. /cc @Rob
meta.stackexchange.com/q/376670/369802 < apparently, the editor is smart enough to recognize code that isn't formatted as such. Why isn't it smart enough to automatically add that formatting then, does anyone know?
well, you have a month to get the gift. Just don't forget.
BTW, in case you still haven't unlocked the Mistery Gift option the normal way, remember you can just go to the TV tower after getting the first badge and use the fast way instead.
@Tinkeringbell bah, Home is already a steal by itself, no need to get any worse. Pay monthly fee for the service (that is separate from the Nintendo Online subscription) isn't that great.... I know they "need to pay the server", but I doubt your 'mons data take that much space...
Yeah, fair. It was my thoughts about Bank too. But the free subscription still allows some trading and stuff, and I'd love to end up with a game that has both dialga and palkia for example. Easiest way to do that would be to upload a dialga to home, trade it for a palkia, and start a new game to catch a new dialga.
At least in Brilliant Diamond there's enough box space to actually keep 1 of everything :P
I fired up my Nintendo 3DS again last week, and it turns out I had a game of Alpha Sapphire on there. 2 or 3 boxes to store pokémon, it was basically forcing you to use Bank. It's why I only recently started playing again ;-)
thank you, the training ones are unexpectedly resilient (and/or everyone is having a slow Monday, or watching the news from Ukraine instead of flagging spam)
@tripleee slow Monday here. I'm pretty tired, as I got woken up at ~2:30 AM by a neighborhood shouting match and spent quite a bit of time hoping they'd just shut up and considering calling police... Slept only 6 hours instead of the planned 8 ... yaaaaawn
@Rob check what? The face is 100% feminine. If you have proof it's not female awesome, I'll admit my mistake, but you can claim each and every picture of a female on the internet is a male, and nobody can prove you wrong. Is this your point? I really don't get it.
@Tinkeringbell don't you have a sword beneath your pillow, for such cases? ;)
@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron I think if you call at 2:30AM saying the neighbors are fighting and causing nuisance that way, there's a good chance they will if they're not superbusy with other higher priority stuff. It's definitely not the thing you call the emergency number for, but there is a non-emergency number for exactly this kind of stuff.
@Tinkeringbell sometimes I let myself be optimistic, when being wrong won't have bad impact. :)
@JourneymanGeek agree, better leave it alone, I have more ways to reach me if @Rob wants to prove his claim, or otherwise explain what I can't seem to understand.
@JourneymanGeek but then the burglar can take it and use it against you.
@Tinkeringbell outside of multiplatform compatibility there is no reason to store the data online in the first place. An offline version of "Pokemon Bank/Home" could just store the data locally and then use local communication to transfer to a different console.
But sadly, Home/Bank purpose is to get as much $$ as possible from exploitable players who want every 'mon.
Furthermore, thinking about it....
Doesn't the Nintendo Online sub include online save data backup too?
Would it really? Online save data back up isn't the same as being able to store pokemon somewhere, start a new game, and move all the pokemon back without e.g. the story progress being moved back too?
true, but right now the new games aren't even compatible with Home. Even the recent livestream (it was today if I am correct) didn't mention any plan for compatibility. So, right now there are about 40 mons that if moved to Home can never be got back....
Anyway, my point was much simpler:
if Diamond Pearl had online save support it would mean that a global online subscriptions covers the price for storage for your "Brilliant Diamond there's enough box space to actually keep 1 of everything" plus every item in your backpack, story progression, medals and so on PLUS every other game with online save PLUS online gaming (servers) PLUS virtual console.... and the Home sub cost a ton but gives you basically nothing.
The less they get customers to realize they are paying to store... probably less that one MB data.... the best.
@Tinkeringbell yep... the "WHEN" is the clue. And some rumors are also talking about a "reset", meaning Arceus and BDSP would only be compatible between themselves.
The unused data in Arceus really seems to point to the fact that the two games will be tied up....
Hmm. I mean the wonder box trading, and the GTS trading (both not available in e.g. Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee) are also a thing. And like I said, it gives the opportunity to store a few pokemon for free, then start a whole new game, and get those pokemon again, so now you'll have double legendaries that you can use for trading. Online save data backup doesn't allow you to e.g. catch a second dialga for trading purposes.
That said, that's all freely available stuff already and doesn't need paying for.
Until you catch more than 30 legendaries/shinies and you want to keep them all but also want to start over :P
@Tinkeringbell I know. I just mean that giving out space to store the full game save PLUS tons of other thing at about the same price as just storing your mons is bound to raise questions in players, even the more blind ones.
So that is a big no in their book. Plus... it would probably make cloning easier. As if that was the only cloning hole they had.
lol so many answers here were marked quickly as under review or even planned, just to sit with that status for over a year now, sad and hopeless. False Hopes 101.
(and that's why I don't bother wasting time on those things myself.)
@M.A.R. it's working only when it's guest post, whatever it means.
Probably some long forgotten field in some long forgotten table.
