7:20 AM
I have a Sunny Windows...
:D
The one who reported didn't even flag as spam themselves. :/
@cig isn't pingable here. meh.

8:08 AM
@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard they could have flagged before they reported?

@rene nope, the answer was at score 0 when I saw and flagged it.
Spam flag cause auto downvote, so no spam flags were cast.
(author was at 1 rep, so no upvote to "negate" the auto downvote either)
huh spammer got spam through SE defense.
Not anymore.
@JNat cross site spammer for a good start of your week. Thanks!

Due to the nature of the spam it was custom flagged by @cig
> Exact copy of this answer posted at roughly the same time, both from recent accounts with no other contributions. Also, these are the only instances of the domain across the network. I've custom flagged both.

@DavidPostill sorry but I disagree.
Spam should be flagged as spam.

I handled the Super User flag.

And that's pure, raw, spam.

8:27 AM
@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard If you disagree take it up with @cig in chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/11540/charcoal-hq
He's there now

@DavidPostill nah, all good.
Disagree but don't consider it big enough deal to confront anyone.
Still got a small piece of cake, going to make coffee to have excuse to eat it.

but ... the drama?

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard good idea, I'll have a coffee as well

sdc tea rene
:P
Here's your drama! ;)
Drama in a Cup of Tea

8:35 AM
:(

@Spevacus would you like a tea too? Perhaps blue tea? :D
daily ping for @M.A.R. so he won't think I forgot him
Mar 13 '18 at 16:21, by M.A.R.
Daily thanks to @Sha for the daily ping
@rene cake too small, can't share. Sorry! :D
There were three pieces originally, one survived. Until now.

8:51 AM
wait... 3 month old cake?

@JourneymanGeek hours, not months. ;)
Coworker gave me three at around 9 AM

@JourneymanGeek Some kinds of cake last a lot longer than that - my mums xmas cake for example. It's fruit cake and as long as it's wrapped to stay moist ...

His daughter keeps baking, cakes overflow his house so he brings them here. ;)

@DavidPostill IIRC also has a bunch of brandy to keep it drunk preserved

8:53 AM
@JourneymanGeek Sherry in her case ...

@DavidPostill how gray is it by now? All fruit cakes I've had in the past didn't survive more than couple of weeks. :(

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard basically its slowly saturated with booze so it dosen't go bad

@JourneymanGeek ohh lol

@DavidPostill Well I know it theoratically :D

8:54 AM
We don't do booze

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard I don't have any left - IIRC I ate the last slice in March

@DavidPostill nice! I posted here my mom's 80 y/o bday cake, few months ago. No fruits though. :)

That's a really old cake ._.

@JourneymanGeek nah it didn't survive more than two weeks. :D
Poor @triple, working hard to earn 20 rep for his bot.
10 earned, 10 more to go.

9:21 AM
I've never quite understood edits for bot rep...

@JourneymanGeek yeah, better just one decent post and be done with it.

Edits also have risk of being deleted, and then you're stuck with disabled bot. ;)
Happened to @Ann
People are just afraid of posting in MSE, even old time users. lol

That's something that needs working on ._.

@JourneymanGeek yup. I suggest $1000 fine for anyone who refuse to post on MSE.
:D

9:30 AM
@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard lol

Money will be used for a fund called "Make Meta More Friendly".
:P

Well - in a sense its a tough crowd, and we kinda had to deal with... a buncha stuff ;D

someone's bump-editing posts that haven't been edited for 4 years (11 if we ignore Community https/commonmark edits)... should those be rejected? or what's our policy on suggested edits like this
(different from bobble's yesterday because that post got bumped anyway, and it was a significant broken markdown fix, this is just tiny spelling fixes on posts that are completely buried)
(I'm asking because I just got edit privileges and I don't know if this site has a particular standard/metric for these things; my site's suggested edit rules are very specific)

If the content gets better and everything gets fixed (so not just one spelling error while leaving other blatant errors untouched) I would approve such edits, even on old posts.

hm, okay. it was just s/seperate/separate, plus a minor clarification
though this specific user is starting to edit many posts all that are very old, and while I usually allow some minor edits, I have swapped to rejecting them on codegolf if the same user is spamming too many. doesn't seem to be a real problem right now though
wait, it's tripleee's bot. never mind, this is probably fine xD
should've checked the profile description; it's a chat bot to prevent specific rooms from freezing. oops, my bad

it really shouldn't matter who it is.

right, ik. but it explains why. although, i also just realized they have 31 rep on SO ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ anyway if it is really an issue mods will take care of it and if not then i'll just mind my own business

8:34 PM
I suggested earlier to tripleee to suggest tag wikis and excerpts. It is relative easier / guaranteed rep and doesn't bump any posts. (assuming you're capable of forming a decent English sentence or two)

ah yeah, that sounds like a better idea
i usually just make a post to get rep for my bots/socks :p but that is definitely harder (IMO) than tag wikis.
someone on my site once made a post from a bot account to get it 20 rep for chat and instead got over 200, lol

The problem I have is that editing stuff from 2010 means a ton of extremely old cruft is showing up. That one about referring to SE sites is in no way current
Even if editing posts, at least edit new ones.

That might be unfortunate for the old cruft but if it has lost its value, maybe it is time to delete it?

8:53 PM
@rene I mean. The question itself isn't bad but no one has time to fix it. My request to Legal to actually update that terminology page Robert quoted is about six months old... and I don't think it's actually been updated yet?

fair enough.

Hahahahahaha the page was updated (I know because it says "The Overflow" for the blog)... but it specifically reserves "Stack Overflow" for the site and "Stack Exchange, Inc." for the company.... which we don't even do ourselves.

9:08 PM
@Catija but that is the gap between what legal calls "the law" and what the rest of the world calls "common sense"

Except that the community would end up a lot happier if we followed the legal name usage instead of calling the company "Stack Overflow" and confusing community members who think that means the site only or leaves them wondering which is meant.

10:03 PM
True that. Naming things is hard.

@hyper-neutrino when I want to procrastinate, sometimes that looks like going to a random site and anon-editing 3 or so old posts to fix spelling errors. I usually use search to find ones that have a significant number of problems.
