I think someone already asked - it's due to privacy add-ons.

Q: cdn.cookielaw.org is blocked by my browser

Gerard H. PilleWhen navigating Stack Exchange, I get this error in my browser's console The resource from “https://cdn.cookielaw.org/scripttemplates/otSDKStub.js” was blocked due to MIME type mismatch (X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff). I'm using Seamonkey. My browser is also continuously asking about my cook...

Yeah on Tor.

A: cdn.cookielaw.org is blocked by my browser

Gerard H. PilleThe problem is caused by the fact that I'm using Tor. The request for "https://cdn.cookielaw.org/scripttemplates/otSDKStub.js" is answered by a 403 with a page "Error 1020 access denied". Strangely, a request for "https://cdn.cookielaw.org/cdn-cgi/styles/main.css" is answered without problem. ...

@TheFor, was Makyen's comment helpful; access the site somehow, which lists them, then add them to the exception list; now back to where you were.
@Rob It's not a privacy add-on. It's blocking my IP.
So there is no whitelist.
Rob
Rob
Then, in theory (if it were perfect), it will block every endpoint; leaving that always a problem (or one that will resurface).
The list of Tor exit nodes is public. They probably just use the list (or more realistically, some public blacklist of IPs that includes, among other things, the official exit node list).

So MathJax on SE supports tables now, right? Is there a way to convert this into a real table?

A: How do the Serpent S-boxes work?

forestSerpent uses 8 different 4-bit S-boxes (i.e. each S-box contains 16 elements) a total of 32 times. There are no "rows" or "columns" as it is a one-dimensional array containing a derangement of 16 elements. For each S-box, a 4-bit integer from 0 to 15 is mapped to another 4-bit integer from 0 to 1...

Specifically this:

It's actually Markdown that's now supporting tables, not MathJax...

Nice!
Buuuut you need to be|SPACEVALUESSPACESPACE for it to work
so you need to do it in monospace for it to be visible
@TheforestofReinstateMonica between what @MetaAndrewT. posted and me, you should be able to work it out ;)
I'm lazy, so I just replaced '&' and '\\' with '|' and called it done :v
tried that
won't work :D
err, was I fooled by the preview?
(I didn't submit it because the table representation of MathJax and Markdown is different, and Markdown table is not flexible, so... to each their own)
Thanks, looking into it now.
Aah, so it's only markdown that has it now, not mathjax? Didn't know that.
Guess I remembered the news wrong!
Oh my god the markdown table is ugly. No way to reduce width I assume?
I guess I'll keep it as mathjax, although it's a little annoying that I can't delimit rows with a line.
05:22
@MetaAndrewT. wierd. Preview didn't work when I tried it
@TheforestofReinstateMonica well - Mathjax is designed for layout, markdown for simplicity

@TheforestofReinstateMonica MathJax has many ways to make many styles of tables, in addition to these two links on the same page and the next are hidden amongst the answers a few more fancy tables (use browser search for table, or the MathJax used; one example is array): math.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/5020/… and math.meta.stackexchange.com/a/27756/510296
@Rob I think you misunderstand :D

I've heard people refer to me as both she/her and he/him. Frankly I don't care which one is used.
You have something else?
forgot why, but I always treated @Theforest as a "she", though of course might be wrong.

@DavidPostill lazy, remember ;)
@DavidPostill yes, that's me!!!!11!! :P
Time to go buy a toast, been way too long since I had one, due to lockdown and working from home. ;) (I did make myself a toast at home almost every day, but it's far from what I get in the bakery)
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating You don't have a toaster?
@DavidPostill see edit ^^
:D
They add things I'm too lazy to buy and add myself, e.g. onion, mushrooms, sauce.
I use only cheese and tomato, which I have anyway at home.
11:25
@ShadowWizardisVaccinating He corrected me once.
:D
@JourneymanGeek I did not. I've never stated my gender online.
I think this was waaaay before the monica nonsense - when you had the cutsie anime girl avatars
I still have an anime avatar, just not on MSE.
And it's not just any cutsie anime girl. It's Matsuoka Miu!
But no, I would not have corrected anyone about my gender simply because I don't think it matters on a medium like the internet. At least, not for what we do here. There's no reason why someone should need to know the shape of my genitals when I'm explaining how to hook syscall tables. >_>
\o/
or you care so little you did and forgot about it.
Nah. I actively dislike the concept. Doing that "accidentally" would be like me "accidentally" stating that I supported censorship. Gender has no place on the (technical areas of the) internet anymore than race does. Terrestrial ecosystems like forests have no gender anyway.
11:34
Are forest's pronouns really the hill we're going to die on this Sunday?
My pronouns are apparently srs bsns :D
\o/
I'll remember not to correct people in your case instead
:D
We should all be blind to that kind of thing on the internet.
You know the saying. On the internet, no one knows your a dog.
(Though you don't seem to hide it!)
If it matters enough to someone to let people know, it matters enough to respect it
I suppose. I just use "they" if I can't remember (or don't care enough to memorize).
I so lament English not having a proper (or at least non-controversial) gender indefinite. :/
11:44
the controversialness is the problem ;)
Yeah. The issue is that "he" is the grammatically correct gender indefinite singular pronoun and can be used in place of "they", but that has negative connotations when it's taken to mean that women are excluded. Slowly, "they" is replacing "he" when gender is unknown (which isn't a bad thing. I just dislike when people say that either one of them is wrong grammatically).
The linguist in me is quick to point out that singular "they" breaks grammatical numbering. But the same is true with singular "you". My god English is a mess! Let's all switch to Lojban. :)
And don't even get me started on garden-path phrases and Escher phrases!
Why oh why must "the old man the boat" be correct when it sounds so wrong!? My mental parser is insufficient to handle this level of stupid. Words should have attributes that specify if they're a verb or adjective. Not doing that is what causes so much type confusion in languages like C!
@TheforestofReinstateMonica wierdly in school, we got taught to use 'she' as the gender indefinate singular pronoun....
Might be a US vs UK/Commonwealth thing
Because that's incorrect for AmE, BrE, and AuE.
@JourneymanGeek Wait, for English?
weird
I like how Japanese makes it fairly simple. You just use your own pronouns.
If you're female, you can use atashi to refer to yourself. For male, you can use boku. (those are both informal though, but common enough in writing).
Of course, Japanese has its own weirdness (why use ga in one instance instead of wa? No one knows! It's just how it's done!)
11:53
That breaks your 'it's nobody's business' principle.
@Tinkeringbell Hey if I refer to myself in Japanese, I'll just use ore. :D
hm is it just my internet or is this site getting slow?
I've had a few timeouts.
Oh shit nvm something's uploading to ftp. My internet sux.
Ok I'm gonna head out. later all
@JourneymanGeek where?
@TheforestofReinstateMonica in this you're like @Νеvеrꭑoꭇе, though they prefer the usage of "they/them" and not "he/she".
@Tinkeringbell not die, just roll...
Anyway, @JourneymanGeek my best guess is that you used "she" based on the avatar, and forest said something like "no", without meaning "he" instead. This does explain everything. I think. :D

Docking is the removal of portions of an animal's tail. While docking and bobbing are more commonly used to refer to removal of the tail, the term cropping is used in reference to the ears. Tail docking occurs in one of two ways. The first involves constricting the blood supply to the tail with a rubber ligature for a few days until the tail falls off. The second involves the severance of the tail with surgical scissors or a scalpel. The length to which tails are docked varies by breed, and is often specified in the breed standard. At least 170 dog breeds have naturally occurring bobtail lines...
