Apparently there’s some CRISPR controversy.
It’s always sounded dystopian to me, errors or not.
Scripted, of course. Like all the best fight scenes.

Maybe community shouldn't automatically protect questions that were unprotected once... but of course, a feature like this would take 6-8 years to implement.

I plan to be a hobo, with a rental car, in a foreign country for a few days ... and spend 10% of time there in a tent ... but only 10% of the times though. Coz I do want my own room and shower and laundry facility so I don't look like a tramp all the times.
user202362
I mean, sometimes I think I must be wild feral at heart - while others fancy living in a mansion and driving luxury cars, my fantasy involves becoming a hobo and living in a tent amongst a forest (for a few days out of a month).

Wow
That's...... dumb
user315433
Must be a bug somewhere, but other sites have normal text there, like "not about math" or "not about data science", or whatever.

Hello all!!
Is retagging the question according to answer allowed? Given that it is answerer is adding that tags for enhancing the search result.
06:48
@SS not really, unless the question is explicitly related to the added tag. Otherwise, it's not correct to add tag based on answers.

@Inc. Thanks for the info. I have been searching for a question or guidelines "How does tagging work". But didn't find one. Is there any thing like that? We are facing problems on Hindism.SE regarding this.
@JamesENL There are some questions on Hinduism.SE regarding this. Shall I give them?
Why not? Any source of procrastination is welcome today
@SS I believe it's mentioned that tag is to categorize question, not answers. But I'm on mobile now, can't search conveniently

Q: Retagging questions with the answer?

Adam GoodeWhen the answer to a question can be summarized in one word, I've found myself wanting to retag questions with that answer as a tag. Is this good practice? Example: If "lib-y" is a good answer to the question "What is a library to do X?", then retag the question with "lib-y". It makes it really ...

^ What do you guys think about this question? Is it allowed?
Wow that's an old question
S S
S S
Does that need to be revisited?
Is it still valid?
Probably
I'd say that if it adds value to the question, then go for it.
S S
S S
The thing here is it is being added by other users and the reason given here is enhancing the search result. For showing up in the search results, tag is added. It is not according to tag excerpt.
07:00
Then again, if answers are not consistent then I'd be hesitant. For example, someone on StackOverflow asks how to do X in JavaScript. Answers pile on (with the jQuery answer being the most highly upvoted, because jQuery) with people using various libraries to achieve X.
So you've got 5 answers that solve X using vanilla JS, jQuery, Express, NodeJS and one odd person who writes in Haskell because they misread the question, in that case it would be inappropriate to tag the question anything other than Javascript because there are so many varied answers
It would be impossible to tag the question with , , , and
Because those tags all mean something different.
S S
S S
What if the user who answered the question using Javascript added the tag in the question and said that it enhances the search results regarding javascript?
Then I'd decline their edit if I came across it in the suggested edits queue.
But that's just me
Other people may have other opinions
S S
S S
Other users are supporting that. I want to know is this type of tagging encouraged by SE.
You can read the regarding meta discussion.
I also think my analogy may be imperfect

@SS I don't know in this case. Arguments can be made either way.

@SS sorry for the late response, just had a chance to read that meta post. I can't say much about the tagging culture on Hinduism (not a regular there), but I agree with Pandya's answer since that's also my viewpoint on tagging.
@ShadowWizard we need to remove from the list of necessary tags to make you happy! Maybe create FR for this?

Yep. 28/39, if I counted correctly.
@Oded why Joel Spolsky don't have a diamond for Seasoned advice, Stackapps, Electrical Engineering, android, mathematics, PPCG, RPG, etc.
Did he rejected it or someone missed to assign a diamond for him?
Time zones are just propaganda pushed by spherical-Earthers... man.
@SagarV why should he have them? Adding a diamond to anyone who isn't a developer is a manual process. If he doesn't need it, he doesn't get it. You expect him to be active on 170 sites in moderator capacity?
13:43
no I mean as the CEO of SE, a diamond will looks good.
and I believe he has the super power in everywhere even without a diamond
He really doesn't. And so what if he is CEO? That doesn't mean he should be able to interfere freely.
@Oded so, the site is perfectly community driven.
As much as possible. With some direction from the CMs.
Totally clear.

Ok. I thought it is different for SO and that's why I tried to redirect him to MSO.
Before directing someone to a child-meta, think if it can be appropriately answered on MSE. Just because the words "Stack Overflow" (or any other site name, for that matter) appear in the question doesn't make it off-topic on MSE.

Coq au vin (; French pronunciation: [kɔk o vɛ̃], "rooster/cock with wine") is a French dish of chicken braised with wine, lardons, mushrooms, and optionally garlic. A red Burgundy wine is typically used, though many regions of France make variants using local varietals, such as coq au vin jaune (Jura), coq au Riesling (Alsace), coq au pourpre or coq au violet (Beaujolais nouveau), coq au Champagne, etc. == History == Various legends trace coq au vin to ancient Gaul and Julius Caesar, but the recipe was not documented until the early 20th century; it is generally accepted that it existed ...

Generally you would use a blur event and then insert the values using substring if the value was valid. I am not aware of how css could insert the hyphens.
user315433
But it happens as I type. After typing 123, a hyphen appears without the form losing focus.
That is probably an invasive version of onkeyup
user315433
(This is my interpretation of what the OP wants.)
or perhaps using oninput which gets everything
However, the issue is that it is rather trivial to do, whichever route you choose, and it really shouldn't take that long to implement at all. Moreover, that user seems to be working with SSN's... which to be honest is terrifying if they cannot even figure out how to format a hyphen in an input element.
