I think what that really says is how little people trust the JavaScript standard library, given that Array.isArray is very well-supported at this point (and always supported in Node).

@404 The oft-cited issue is that won’t work across frames, but I admit I’ve never actually run into a problem like that. Array.isArray will always work, though.

It’s not a method. It’s actually a function on the global Array object.

You have to use it like Array.isArray([1, 2, 3]).

Most of the time, linebreaks in posts are used incorrectly (they should be paragraph breaks). It's not often that one needs a linebreak, anyway. Yet, it's the first thing one sees on the formatting page.
