@JasonC I'll tell Doorknob you dislike his site
Opens door

Parenting and workplace are down there with lifehacks too, in the "reminder that most people suck" category.

@JasonC Lemme guess, kids?

They should just combine parenting, workplace, and lifehacks into one site. It can be called Suck Overflow or something.
2
I don't have kids, and most people on parenting should have followed my example.
2
And workplace convinced me to stay freelance.

@JasonC Get off SE and FIND A JOB
;)

Almost every workplace question has an implied "... because I'm a nonconfrontational, passive-aggressive mess" at the end.
Maybe because they were raised by the type of people that ask the questions on parenting.
I love my nonjob. Sort of. Except programming lost its glamour 15 years ago.

6:06 PM
@JasonC GET OFF SO AND FIND JOBZ
Non programming would be good for you

I get to travel a lot though. And visit lots of construction sites, which is fun.

@JasonC Holiday all the time?

We sort of I mean I have to work when the work comes to coast through slow times.
Also I have to keep my reputation up, all my business is word of mouth. So I can make my own schedule but I can't really slack.
Well* sort of
I dunno what I could do nonprogramming
Or at least, what I could do that would still let me afford to live in NYC.

6:32 PM
@JasonC If we are giving unsolicited advice: You should have spent some points in empathy when you rolled your character. ;-)

not charisma?

@JasonC Why NYC?

6:59 PM
@JasonC Hard to be sure without a trip to the vet to get the cat fixed.

7:09 PM
@JonEricson I totally understand why those people suck. See? I have plenty of empathy.
@bjb Cause that's where I live. I like it here mostly. My life is here.

@JasonC Oh, I feel ya.

Anyways, my mom did the dice roll.

not going to bother creating a whole question on Meta.SO for it, but if there are any mods of SO here, please consider review-banning those three

@cybermonkey Why? I rather like the edit. Much better SNR.

@JasonC it completely changes the object of the post
plus, it removes the macro tag citing a Meta post, which talks about a completely different type of macro (aka, macros in IDEs)

It does? Are we looking at the same review? The one about launching the scenario manager?

plus, it introduces grammar errors (simple ones such as missing full stops)
yes

It looks like it has the same meaning to me. Perhaps the original just wasn't clear enough. I would have approved that edit. You can always improve the edit and fix the new mistakes and clarify.

7:23 PM
the Removed inappropriate macros tag. http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/256623/what-to-do-about-macros review comment is not justification to remove the tag (as the Meta post talks about macros in IDEs, which is not what is being used in this case)

Yeah but it wasn't actually.clear that macros were the subject in the original post.
The root of that problem was an unclear post, not an edit. Fwiw I interpreted the original the same way the editor did. Just clarify it.

@JasonC unclear? it's perfectly clear it's about excel macros

If it were perfectly clear you wouldn't have four people disagreeing. Take that as you will. shrug

perhaps not to someone who doesn't work in Excel (and anyway, if the user is unfamiliar with the tag they should not be submitting edits like that)

No not really.
But you can sneak the macro tag and the single subtle occurrence of the word "macro" back in to fix it.

7:26 PM
well yes, it seems the editor is used to macros in IDEs but not macros in Excel
there's four mentions of the word 'macro' in there, including the tag

That's awesome!

mentioned the question when I first posted it in the SOCVR.. if they don't think it's unclear then I think the question itself was pretty clear..
now this is what I call a 'broad/unclear' question

Hey, I have a small problem. I'm loading winterbash leaderboard, and its doesn't load beyond the 10th page. I do it via php and the link is http://justachat.freevar.com/wb.php?p=1. If I enter p=11 and further, it doesn't load, can't get why. Code is
<?php echo file_get_contents('http://winterbash2015.stackexchange.com/leaderboard/network?page='.$_GET['p']); ?>
Maybe you can help me diagnosing the problem.
(It could also be a valid question to ask on some stack, maybe SO? Or MSE?)
Oy it started working wtf

umm.. why you need to do that?

@Pops Got it, maybe I was fetching the leaderboards too fast.

Q: Large hats break the UI

cybermonkeyWe all love hats! However when hats are placed too far above an avatar, bad things happen: The problem is that when hats are too big, they affect any content nearby. This could be intentional, but it doesn't look right (and it's not consistent with the rest of the UI). It's minor, but would i...

@tchrist I haven't seen the new ones and wasn't alive in '77, but I bet it's incomparable. The effects were ground-breaking and it was a huge influence on the genre. It was unlike anything anybody ever saw before.

Being dead is certainly a serious barrier to having a good experience.

11:16 PM
Sort of like how there's tons of good video games but it's hard to capture the magic of classics; even more recent ones like Doom and that era, and some of the first actual 3D games like Quake and such, they were unique.
Well I don't know if I'd qualify as dead in 1977 either. Hmm.

Hafizoverall career2.0 was much better than Stackoverflow jobs which is really buggy. What i really liked was your filters. Where it said, Relocation offered and visa sponsorship. @Telkitty Perl thanks you.

user202362
Because Perl & shell scripting, I never bothered to learn python ...

11:29 PM
@Telkitty Of course. Isn't everybody that way?

@cybermonkey The tag wiki on SO still says that it should not be used for MS Office / VBA macros. Seems like you should at least remove that, even if you don't like the rest of the edit. There's an tag you could use instead, but it's just a synonym for , which you already have.

macros are for m4
