1. Two men walked into a bar. The other one ducked
^^That one is the worst cuz everyone already heard it
2. A blind man walks into a bar

3. A dyslexic man walks into a bra
hehe

@Frank They're chuckle-worthy.
How does my potatoUI look?

-1. Doesn't look like potato.

:o

Anyway, by "potatoUI", did you mean the overall design?... or the layout?.. or?

2:17 AM
Just any complaints that come into mind.
Preferably ¬ about the overall color scheme tho, Malcolm complains about that enough.

For "Parent ID", is the number in the front of the tag name the tag ID?
If it's, is the list sorted by tag ID or alphabetically? Or how is it sorted?

IDs are the number, I'll add sorting/searching later.

What happens if you click DOM as parent link?

The "none" textnode? Nothing.

I meant, DOMParser's parent, which is DOM (it's a link, right?)

2:24 AM
Oh, it links to #1.
ie, location.href is localhost/qa/tags#1

I assume it will be highlighted also (maybe that's just me.. nvm)

@AndrewT. Yes, that's part of the global CSS, a flash of orange

Then, suppose there are 1000+ tags, I believe there's pagination. Will the navigation on that page using AJAX/IFrame? (i.e. searching, and also clicking the parent) not sure about this if using anchor in link.

2:43 AM
Text tags? How . . . quaint.
Try a realtime incoming stream of ISo-8825 ASN.1 BER-TLV data objects with dynamic tags. Which, of course, are binary. And you need to proceed bit by bit — literally.
Those are limited it size, but in general, ASN.1 lengths can require bignums.
Or at least, their integers can. Sometimes reality gets in the way.

Yeah, I don't think this is possible, with Community claiming all the automatic downvotes from spam, abusive, and VLQ flags.

5:48 AM
> You cannot flag a message more than 15 days old; if necessary, request moderator attention instead
Ugh, that sucks

What message?

...

How is cross-posting a question link spam/offensive?

@JanDvorak It's spam because it's blatant self promotion. See "/help/promotion".
Otherwise known as how not to be a spammer.

5:52 AM
does that apply to questions?

It applies to anything.
Oh well, at least I can trash them out of my room with the awesome move message feature, which is not limited by time.

@Unihedron wth?

You can still flag for moderator attention

After having no feedback or action (I observed for an entire week) on three spamming users and two abundant rooms that are totally off topic, I've given up hope on mod flagging in chat rooms.

That surely depends on the room.

5:57 AM
I also don't expect a moderator to naturally know the standards of each room.

Also, I have always had good luck and fast.

I have an inherent bad luck.

@Unihedron neither do 10ks

But I only modflag egregious stuff.
I probably decline 90% of offensive flags.

@tchrist The time it takes to write a reason to fill out that flag would be enough to raise it to attention of 10ks.

5:59 AM
@tchrist do you mean chat offensive flags?

And what is a 10k user supposed to do to the pathetic spammer you pointed out?
@JanDvorak Yes.

user259867
I'd expect that by now the pathetic spammer would be on everyone's ignore list in that room, which largely solves the problem.

user259867
It's annoying, not offensive.

/kick

@Yes It's spam.
Spam must die. :P

6:02 AM

user259867
A link to a non-spam question on SE site is not spam.

as for usefulness, noone coming for help is useful to the room

Also, is not useful or relevant.

@Unihedron I again encourage Charlie Stross's Rule 34 -- or at least its solution to the spam problem.

How do you expect them to disclose an affiliation? Post two separate messages, one of which only fulfills a formal requirement noone knows exists?
