I'm not sure if "team lead" is a role you want if it is within quotes...

Better then being a "Team" Lead.

just saw this question, shared with the SO chat:
questions of this quality by new users are very rare on SO: stackoverflow.com/questions/29758335/…

Or a team "lead".

:D

Or an "employee"

it's a shame someone felt they had to downvote it:

Marcelo de AguiarAt the very start of your application (possibly on the Main) add this line: System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch() And use Visual Studio to attach and debug the problem.

jdwengMy usual recommendation is to backup the bin folder in the project and then delete bin. This will force all the source files to recompile. Sometimes when a project is upgraded the dependencies don't force all the code to recompile.

@ShadowWizard Nice find. I thought that had been fixed years ago, but I see that they actually only fixed association bonuses from contributing to chat rep, not the base 1 rep contributing.

@ConspicuousCompiler no, the sum is wrong.

@ShadowWizard If starting rep were 0, the sum would be right. =)

Q: I was able to post in chat with less than 20 rep

LamartI joined 20 other sites (out of the many) and even with 1 rep was able to post in any of the chatrooms. For example: In ELL, I have just 1 rep and have posted messages in its chat. ell.stackexchange.com/users/18923/lamart This seems like a bug because I should have needed 20 rep to post. ...

@Lamart "found" it, but it's not really clear in there.
He asked me not to totally change it, so I respect this wish.

Now Tim Post should come back and we're back to full glory :P

Well, @MartijnPieters is likely to be a mod in a little under 24 hours, so there's still some danger.

@Undo do you have an SE quota for the API per-site, or network-wide?

@LynnCrumbling network-wide

That will hardly scale.

@Undo 10000 per day? Month?

9:45 PM
What about in 2025 when there are more than 500 SE sites....

@JeremyBanks ... where'd you get that data?
@ShadowWizard 10k/day

@Doorknob Madara? don't see him listed

Madara Uchiha on the rest of the network

@Roombatron5000 sorry, Second Rikudo on SO

@Doorknob wow. I voted for those three!

@ShadowWizard In that order? Then your votes are the same as mine. :P

nah
I want this car ^

^ like that. Why are they offering that so cheap on craigslist?

@TimStone On elections.stackexchange.com, do you automatically determine the list of currently running elections, or do you have to enter that in manually?

It's clearly been owned by a superhero. So why are they only asking 12k for it instead of 25k?

It's determined automatically.

@TimStone Where do you get that info from? Is it public?

user259867
inb4 Jason C changes career to become a freelance election analyst.

@Doorknob almost! But guess it doesn't really matter :)

9:52 PM
@JasonC It monitors an RSS feed I have set up under the assumption that Community will always post a new meta post on the applicable site to announce a new election. There isn't, unfortunately, a more reliable way.

Oh, clever.
I guess I could always just scrape your site too, heh.

Since there are 3 winners, I am somewhat unsure of how SO counts the votes. Is it some combination of approval voting/instant runoff? Is this in the FAQ, and I missed it?

The stuff you put together is rather neat by the way, I'd be interested in integrating some of it into the site if you were open to that.

Sure whatever you'd like.

9:55 PM
@JasonC Cool, I'll get back to you when I have something more specific.

Word.

@JasonC I can make the JSON available too, if that'd be convenient.
I don't think there's a route for that at the moment, but it might be a little less painful than scraping the HTML since I already have the data stored.

@bjb568 Does "AOL installation CD" ring a bell, btw?

no

in the good old days, we got AOL installation floppies. You could reuse them

You could browse websites with an AOL keyword, too.
I only know about it, but haven't actually used it at all.
It was expensive.

not if you kept using the free trials
10 hours per month! you can manage on that much, right?
I didn't do that though

@Undo I think it'd be Jon, meager, and Madara.

I'd be really really surprised if the moderation-less android candidate wins.

A: Suggestion for rewording of triage review guidance

Shog9This isn't a bad idea, but... I'm skeptical that it'll accomplish much. The guidance on the review page itself spends most of its time hidden. The goal is to give new reviewers a broad overview of what they're supposed to be doing there, but once that's done it gets out of the way. Indeed, it ...

tl;dr: if we're gonna change some text, let's change some text that folks see.

What do 500 rep users even know about closing...

@pizza 500 rep user on one site could be a 100k user on another :)

user259867
@SecondRikudo Correct; but I mean the ordinary 500 rep user, a representative of majority.

@pizza Meh, 250-rep users abuse their rep to bump their own questions into the reopen queue all the time

@pizza Most noob users know enough to know that [on hold] means prettified [closed]
I was told there has been a relatively substantial improvement in reopen rate since the shift from [closed] to [on-hold]
But I've also seen people with <100 rep complain about close (rather than "putting on hold")

user259867
11:51 PM
Ok, now the options make more sense: spam-nuke, offensive-nuke, close, mark as duplicate, call for a mod.

user259867
Still not sold on "inappropriate", looking for a better word/phrase.

@pizza abusive?
Although, isn't that the same as "offensive"?

'terribad'

"nopenopenope"

user259867
@SecondRikudo This is my point exactly: "inappropriate" sounds like someone posted pr0n. But the current proposal uses it for "should be closed". Wrong word, imo.

user259867
11:53 PM
Maybe no word at all: simply "should be closed".
