@Shog9: I've written up an answer to the issue I mentioned a couple of days ago:
0
A: Reputation data vs. Reputation chart mismatch in daily > 200 rep

WernerThe problem can be isolated to the following dates: March 28 & 29, 2015. Your reputation graph shows: This shows reputation gain of +210 for March 28, 2015 +110 for March 29, 2015 However, your reputation history shows: -- 2015-03-28 = 21695 2 235611 (10) 2 235611 ...

Please review the comment I made about the timelines not matching up between the three different views (graph, recalc, timeline).
Somewhere there's a day being skipped, which I don't understand.
And finally, the discrepancy between the recalc and the graph should be fixed. I would think that the recalc provides a count that is used for the Legendary badge, while the graph is the think that most people look at...

@Qantas94Heavy The joke's on you—we're all Shog9's socks. Except you. You're the only real user on the Stack Exchange network. Everyone else? Shog. Even if you talked to people in real life and they're like, "yeah, that was me, I asked/answered that question," NOPE. It was Shog.

Q: I don't want to be a father

LostI feel awful about this, but I can't keep my silence about it anymore. I'm a 25 year old man. I am a piano teacher and have a lot of entrepreneurial/artistic dreams and goals. I met a girl about two years ago, in the spring of 2013. We began dating seriously and I moved in with her in the June/...

what a horrible situation
It's amazing, I slept less than 5h last night, but not really sleepy now at 2:26.
If you haven't moved a long way at least once before, you should really try that. You're like sick all the time. And people do weird things. It's great.

I know, I moved from my bed allllll the way to the couch on the other side of my apartment this morning. It was intense, but really inspiring.

Oh wow, you have my respect.

I'm definitely thinking of moving back to my bed some day, but I really feel like the couch is where I need to be right now.

rather broad than offsite?

11:44 AM
Broad is also fine. On first reading I thought OP was asking for docs

You know, at some point when closing was implemented, it was made for questions with problems that could be fixed and to be reopened otherwise after its problems were salvaged.

lazy questions tend to fit all of the generic close reasons to varying degrees

But now so few questions gets reopened.
The quality of the askers are dropping.

Hasn't that always been the case?
especially at SO

At some point, there were >10 posts getting reopened (only counting ones that weren't deleted afterwards) every month.
It's probably really low now.

11:47 AM
in my experience the questions that could be salvageable all effectively require the asker to do the salvaging, and most askers either never come back, or what they wanted to ask really was an off-topic poll/discussion/do-my-work-for-me/etc so not much can be done
ah, I would consider 10-20 a month to also be very few

so we need 8 bytes in the future for a single character? 4 bytes for the codepoint and 4 bytes for the Alpha, Red, Blue and Green channel?

2:44 PM
This is . . . complicated.
The Fitzpatrick emoji modifiers are combining characters in the astral planes.
So the Black Santa grapheme requires a base santa emoji plus a fitz modifier, so two code points.

@rene Graphemes are already unlimited in the number of code points it takes to represent them. However, in some circumstances practical limits may be reasonable, such as in security contexts. I believe up to 32 modifiers is an oft-cited number.

Arabic is similar but less insane; if you play around with typing in Arabic you'll see it's normal to press 2-3 keys to incrementally build up "a single character", ie by adding dots above/below it, plus each character's shape depends on what characters are adjacent to it
so 8 bytes for a "grapheme cluster" is nothing new =)
