did i able to get immediate notificatios when a new question arrives under particular tag?
i mean email-notification.
plz help. I don't want to miss any question which arrives under particular tag.
02:36
you can subscribe.
but it shows for every 15 mins.
I think it would send the notification for every 15 mins. It won't help. I want immediate notification.
if you want immediate notification, just follow the tag nonstop and do not sleep.
lol. I don't want to sit before a computer for nonstop. If i get the notification on my mobile. I willl catch that type of questions immediately.
@Final Could you explain to me how this doesn't answer the question?

A: Linker errors in Android NDK (undefined reference to `__cxa_end_cleanup')

osexp2003You can fix this problem by adding the compiler option -lsupc++.

It 100% answers the question. Not saying it's correct or not, it's not my field. But even if it's dead wrong it's not your job, or any of our jobs, to try to get it deleted.
Could you give some detail on how this flag fixes the problem? And why? Think of your answer as something a lot of people will read, not just a one off. — starmole Jun 24 at 2:57
I am surprised that you start arguing out of your area, though.
and giving an upvote is especially strange when you cannot verify whether it is good
upvote is for correct and useful answers.
02:49
SE is my area. We don't delete answers if they aren't a complete non-answer

Really, stop doing this.
Sorry, I cannot take you seriously: Not saying it's correct or not, it's not my field
and you give an upvote for it because of a comment, sigh.
the complete misuse of votes.
and yes, that is a crappy answer, flagging it.
Even more, the whole question is duplicate, so flagged it. Thanks for bringing the attention to the thread.
in addition, the answer is tad wrong, but that is just a side effect. It is a crap answer, and people use comments for such posts. There is nothing new. Start arguing with the experts about that who mostly disagree with you if you want to shoot yourself in the foot.
@FinalContest How so? It doesn't provide everything, in which case you could downvote. But it shouldn't be a comment; it provides a potential solution to the problem.
My voting is none of your business. Anyway, I'm not going to argue with you, it's a complete waste of my time. You've been warned to change your reviewing habits, if this continues it could very well mean more serious consequences.
You are ignored, thanks, bye.
@starmole: in fact, it is not only comment material without explaining the issue at all, it is even incorrect answer. See the other answers for the correct solution. Someone gave an upvote to it sadly who said thtadis: Not saying it's correct or not, it's not my field, sigh. Anyway, duplicate questions should not be fed with answers. — Final Contest 2 mins ago

@Cupcake: do not worry, it was just a real threat from an admittedly ignorant person in the area, with whom 5 people disagreed in the comment, towards an "expert". There were worse things in the history.
why a comment got removed that asked for more details and got 4 upvotes is beyond my league, but sounds like something that should be reported to meta.
[ SmokeDetector ] All-caps title: KINDS OF SIMILES USED IN LITERATURE on english.stackexchange.com
@FinalContest comments with the phrase "what have you tried" use to be auto-deleted on one flag, just like comments containing the swear word 'f***'. If there is a comment "what have you tried" to a question that already has an accepted answer and the question is more than a year old.. good chances the comment is obsolete since that user won't be coming by to edit his post any time ever.
@VotetoClose: you have not checked the actual context, have you?
@starmole: why your well upvoted and valid comment got removed is beyond my league. Repasting because it is still valid and the OP has not addressed it: Could you give some detail on how this flag fixes the problem? And why? Think of your answer as something a lot of people will read, not just a one off.Final Contest 2 mins ago
that comment got 4 upvotes from the community within a short period of time, and it is completely valid a comment. I do not think the person who removed it was doing constructive things in there for that one.

@AvinashRaj there is no way to get a realtime notification like you're asking for, at least not without writing your own tool to get the data
the feed is your best bet, or just refreshing the tag page
writing a good answer should take at least a few minutes anyway, if not 15-30

@AvinashRaj no. the workaround is for your to write an app to fetch the data. However, the API has a throttle, so even if you do it yourself it won't be realtime. There just isn't a way.

@BenCollins: I explicitly said it is not an answer, but comment material. I do not know how to put it more clearly not to get misinterpreted.

and yes, that is a crappy answer, flagging it.
That was a typo as per all the other posts, I commented on it explicitly several times that it is not an answer.
@FinalContest there was, and I'm not looking for an argument here. I can see it wtih my own eyes. you asked why it was deleted, and I answered. If you don't like why it was deleted, then take it up with @Shog9 or take it up on meta
I really do not understand why my comment is removed, but adding it back.
nah, I will add it back continously until it is explained why an opinion is removed
@FinalContest that's a good way to get banned.
05:34
it is not normal, and feels offensive that someone's opinion is removed.
I do not think expressing opinions is "a good way to get banned"
@FinalContest you misunderstand how our network works, then. opinions get removed all the time
@FinalContest maybe I'll ban you
In fact, I am writing to the stackexchange team address now to revoke someone privileges if this does not stop

"Could you give some detail on how this flag fixes the problem? And why? Think of your answer as something a lot of people will read, not just a one off."

it is a completely valid comment, upvoted by the community.
And you want to ban me because I bring it up with good intention?
05:38
@FinalContest I want you to slow down for a minute while I read the post
I think you owe an apology for removing that comment from the user.

nah, I got tired of it, especially after the banning threat.
you act like that's skin off my nose. I was trying to help you. If you don't want help, then quit carrying on about it.
05:42
"I was trying to help you" -> "maybe I'll ban you".
because of bringing up why a valid technical, objective and highly upvoted comment in a short time was removed.
I will only discuss it further once you realize that was an inappropriate comment.
yes, lock the post, too, not to express valid technical opinion that the question should be closed, and the answer is incorrect, LOL.

nah, I will add it back continously until it is explained why an opinion is removed
^ I was responding to this.
that was obviously a semi-joke
but either way, I am writing my unhappiness to the team now.
then so was mine, obviously
I wrote that that is a crappy post, should be a comment, it is even technically invalid, and the quetion should be closed.
and it got removed, so it is clearly a personal action.
and moderation should be objective.
@FinalContest your comment was on an answer, not the question. Are you saying the question should be closed too?
05:46
i am saying that is not an answer, and it is technically incorrect.
you removed it. You really do not see the problem?
needs one more close vote.
@FinalContest the answer is of course an answer. It is not a good answer and should be downvoted (which it can't be now because of the lock). But it is an answer.
Ah, so I have to think what you think?
@FinalContest of course not
but that's a two-way street
I cannot think it should be a comment, my technical expertise cannot say it is an incorrect answer.
if you think an answer should be a comment, then just flag it instead of leaving a highly-unconstructive comment
05:48
you encourage me not to comment, but downvote without a reason, sigh. That is not my cup of tea, but it is not new that SE encourages that behavior.
Yes, it is highly unconstructive to say that it should be a comment and it is technically incorrect because ...
LOL
you need to take a breath. I never said not to comment. I said that the comment you left was unconstructive and rightly removed. If you want to leave a constructive comment (i.e., "this is an incorrect answer because XYZABC"), then that would be welcome
@FinalContest you are grossly misrepresenting the nature of your comment. If you had only said "this should be a comment, and it is technically incorrect", it wouldn't have been deleted. What you posted was a mini-rant
pfff
"Could you give some detail on how this flag fixes the problem? And why? Think of your answer as something a lot of people will read, not just a one off. "

I do not see any, let me repeat ANY problem with that.
@FinalContest that comment is not deleted

that comment was never deleted.
please do not lie, I have screnshots.
I will show you that now.
and everyone saw it here who was around for the time when I brought the removal up.
@FinalContest I have no idea what I would need to apologize for. I'm explaining a situation to a frustrated user, who is engaging in behavior that required me to lock a post. Why would I apologize for that?
05:55
Let us stop the conversation with you. OK, you were threatening me, that is fine. Lying is not (in the hope that I cannot prove it), and in not any way inline with my values, sorry.
why on earth would I lie about a post that I only became interested in to help you?
I am only in this conversation to help you, and you are behaving abusively. Writing to team@ really is your best option, at this point.

@Bart that's a comment in the post that Final had pointed out (click)
@Bart yep, as @Stijin said. Sorry if it seemed a little out of context without any other explanation.
I guess he thought that was directed at him :)
does qt really cost $215 a month?
but I guess that if you use it to create applications that you never distribute you wouldn't want a commercial license
but if you dont mind giving the source code to your customer, you could still sell it to them without getting a commercial license, just as long as they have the source code too
and there's no warranty! does that mean they can't beat you up if it doesn't work?
but if it's software for all of a companies employees to use, then I think it would require that each employee is able to obtain the source code... so you could just put it on their intranet to satisfy the terms of the license
13:10
@Alex Qt 215 a month? Where do you see that?
if you check the linux option it says $215 per month
mobile is cheaper though
and that's per developer
Ah okay, the enterprise solution
they seems to have a perpetual license option though
@Bart On the wiki page it doesn't say there is free license at all for Qt
I somehow assumed it was free...
you have to keep the subscription in order to link with the libraries, so if you have a six month project your paying $1206 per developer on the project
it seems that after the subscription ends you can't link anymore so to do bug fixes and new features you have to activate the subscription
the perpetual license needs to be renewed anually
developing commercial aqplications with qt sounds like an expensive undertaking
13:22
Afaik you don't need the enterprise license for commercial applications. Unless something has changed. Surely Laszlo knows more than I do though.
hmmm.... perhaps the lgpl license allows you to use it in non free programs without giving the source code away
If you just link against it, sure.
Don't modify the library, just link against it, and you're good to go I think. But as always "I am not a lawyer"
@Stijn Ah okay. I missed that in the huge p*ssing contest that seems to be going on in that question.

IMHO, Qt sucks ;)
"Don't modify the library, just link against it, and you're good to go I think" -> s/link against it/dynamically link against it/ but other than that, that is my understanding, too. And IANAL, either.
Also, some would argue that there is some difference between commercial and proprietary.

well, yes, after some explained downvotes I take, it is not unusual to get those unexplained downvotes for the highest/lowest scored answers.
