... and then you get to see the wonderful mod tools of chat.

@hichris123 more than all I want blue name
Now only the team got blue names here in the Tavern

Oh the joys of moderating when you accidentally use the delete function instead of the destroy function. Gotta love manual cleanup.

@ShadowWizard This room is pretty much all blue:

 Charcoal HQ

Where smoke is detected, diamonds are made, and we break thing...
:P
@animuson Eeek! Spammer?

well, I think there will be a few meta posts once I gain 140 more scores in Qt: what has happened to the Qt flag? A significant part of the questions is closed by the power-hungry Laszlo Papp?!
@ShadowWizard ^

@hichris123 Dirty socks.

3:05 PM
Maybe that's what all the downvotes are trying to prevent @LaszloPapp?

@LaszloPapp you know the power is only to close as duplicates? All the other close reasons still need 5 votes.

@ShadowWizard: there are plans to extend it to more, and that is also logical.

@LaszloPapp plans sometimes stay plans for long years :)

well, if that comes to reality, I will probably close 30-40% of the questions based on the current trend.

Take the MSO/MSE split for example. I think they planned it like four years ago.
@LaszloPapp well, worst case you will be warned by a moderator if you'll abuse your super power. Until then, nothing will stop you from using it. :)

3:11 PM
Ughhh I want Watch_Dogs but I don't want to pay that insane price for it.

Hack it @animuson

:D

He's a mod, he can't cheat

Who's cheating!? Eyes on your own papers!

3:14 PM
But Sir, I just dropped my pen on his desk Sir.

I paid 38€ for watch dogs

Insanity.

> They threw out all the tomatoes and none of them stuck to the wall because the hooks were waiting for potatoes
Who can tell where it's taken from? ^

The most I've ever paid for a game was $34.99, and I'm still pretty disappointed that I did that.

@animuson what game?

3:22 PM
The last game I bought at full price was store.steampowered.com/app/243800

@ShadowWizard Assassin's Creed 3. An utterly disappointing game.
They should rename it to Assassin's Creed: Disappointment

The last assassin's creed I really enjoyed was AC2, and it was the first one I ever played

@animuson oh, I was disappointed in the first game. :(

Oh apparently I also paid $34.99 each for Pokemon Black and White versions.
Much more worth the money.

Got to go, cya guys!

3:25 PM
cya!

The only games I buy are Blizzard games and Steam holiday sale games that I'll eventually play, maybe. I don't feel like paying 60 Euro for AAA titles with 8 hours or less of gameplay.
bye bye @Shadow

> Steam holiday sale games that I'll eventually play, maybe.
Oh I have like 150 of those that I am going to play. Really. One day.

3:41 PM
> Please note this game is not compatible with Windows 7 or 8.

So, wait a minute here. You release a game on Steam that only works with Windows XP a month after Windows XP officially goes out of support?

@animuson which game is that?

Roller Coaster Tycoon
The original cool one.

isn't that abandonware already?

3:44 PM
They just released RCT 1 & 2 on Steam last week.

@animuson ... Vista?

I don't know. They only mentioned XP in the email they sent me.

@animuson I think the system requirements are just incorrect. Just last year I ran my original copy of RCT on Win7

3:46 PM
The game runs fine. I reported a technical issue that clicking the Tutorial button on the Steam game causes the game to try and enter a fullscreen mode that bricks the game.

Or perhaps a bit misleading. On Steam it says

> Minimum:
> OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista

All tech support sees, though, is "Windows 7 oh we don't have to pay attention to this!"

in Charcoal HQ on The Stack Exchange Network Chat, 2 mins ago, by hichris123
@manishearth could you please turn back on ManishBot? It just missed some spam.
@JanDvorak ^

going home, bye

3:48 PM
But I only wanted to play the tutorial because it auto-builds that really cool roller coaster for you and I wanted to save it to my tracks.
I guess I'll have to do without it. :x

I'm quicker. :P

@JanDvorak heh.

4:00 PM
?

LOL
some OPs put into the question that SSCCE is not possible, sorry.

5:09 PM
Did someone notice the flags coming from this?
What am I supposed to do with those chat flags if they are not spam or offensive out of context?

hi rene

Cast a custom flag if it's out of context.

OK

When reviewing, is a minor edit also considered too minor if everything what could be improved is improved?

I don't think so.

5:14 PM
yeah, if it does not add much value, but bumps the question needlessly, e.g. foo -> ` foo `.

Oh great, we disagree...

we always do... :p

:)

There seem to be quite a bit of disagreement generally about "too minor".

rene, I need your foo about the tag popularity trend. Is it something easily fetchable?
@Louis: I think about lots of things on SO.

5:21 PM
@LaszloPapp True but some topics are more intensely disagreed about than other ones. For instance, among the reasons for edit rejection, "too minor" is probably at the top for sources of disagreement.
Part of it due to the term "too minor" being quite vague.

yeah, another top question is downvote reason ...
another is how to deal with crappy questions...

It's like NAA for flagging answers.

@LaszloPapp what is tag popularity?

lots of open debates all around IMHO, never reaching agreements. :)
@rene: can you return the "position" of a tag from popularity point of view annually, based on the number of questions asked? I would like to know about a tag if it gets more popular than others, or it is fading away.

So a tag is more popular if it had more questions tagged with it in a particular date range?

5:26 PM
in my popularity definition for the scope of this, yes.
I see that the qt tag made it onto the second page when you browse tags, but it used to be on the third a while ago.
not sure if it could be associated with a technology becoming more or less popular compared to others...
@JanDvorak: seems a moderator declined the second trial here, stackoverflow.com/questions/22033755/…
which is somewhat odd after getting the question closed as duplicate like in the answer.

@hichris123 I was just cured from those tibco nightmares...

@LaszloPapp Can you check for a start if this makes sense?

wow, yes, that is about 1/3 in one year.

@rene what the heck is tibco, anyway?

@hichris123 Don't make me ask Bart to poke you with a smiting stick!
<cough>middleware</cough>
or: Where all the data comes together... and to be never seen again...

5:56 PM
Ah.

@Louis Edited to make the library request stand out :-)

@rene I see what you did there.

@rene: any progess on the position query?

Isn't there a quality filter that blocks jsfiddle links without a code block in a question? stackoverflow.com/questions/23876536/disable-html-collisions

If there is, it probably just checks that there's code in the question, not code block

7:28 PM
@Stijn It has 1 code block ...
position: relative

@rene Oh I missed the inline code

That question is close-worthy.

[ SmokeDetector ] All-caps title: WTF ( NET ACTIVITY VIEWER QUESTION ) on askubuntu.com

@LaszloPapp No, but the SE team need a new sqlserver because I just blewout their memory and cpu...

There's a special hellban for people who do that. Queries still work but return only unicorn-related data.

7:34 PM
Oops, I'm out in that case... :-)

@rene: LOL

I'm afraid this can only be done off-line on the full datadump. The like '%<qt>%' is killng it and if I add another year it is dead in the water. Let alone if I add more tags...

@tupperkion The body of the question you posted on SO must contain the information which is material to answering your question. Links are quite welcome to provide additional information so long as they do not replace the information that should be in the body of your question. In the case at hand here, please add the relevant CSS, HTML and JavaScript to the body of your question. — Louis 2 mins ago

@rene: that might explain why you cannot check tag stuff with more granularity.

@rene Looks like your comment did not have the desired effect.

7:42 PM
You can always only check the current situation which is probably "cached".

@rene Uh... I have the datadump, and I'll try to import it into MySQL.

how big is the whole data bump of the several millions of posts?

17GB

that is enough to fit into 392 GB RAM ...

@hichris123 that would be nice. Can you open a port so I can blowout your cpu and ram as well?

7:46 PM
@rene Sure!

@LaszloPapp it is actually 19.214.106.624 bytes

can you legally get the hold of it?
@rene: how big is the C++ part of it?

@hichris123 It would also need a job to create a new fact table for PostHistoryTags that parses PostHistory.text for PostHistoryType 3 and 6....

anyone remembers a discussion about loosely related duplicates?

@rene Let's hope

8:13 PM
why was it voted on as too-broad? stackoverflow.com/questions/23876844/…

Does the Kinect supposed to work at all with Qt?

what do you mean?

Does the SDK provide libs that can be used by Qt/C++
Otherwise you first have to create those and that is too broad...

why do you think C++/Qt needs special libs?

Uhhh, because that is how it works?

8:17 PM
I am not sure what you mean.

Unless you telll me ohterwise...
holdo n

Yeah, I see that now

I cv'd anyway.
I will retract if the OP clarifies "This seems not to be enough".

So, that question is not too broad in that case but lacks info to diagnose?

@rene: I think so.

@hichris123 That has even 2 answers...

Seriously ?????? — Jay Bhatt 26 mins ago
sigh
@rene: this one is too-broad IMHO, stackoverflow.com/questions/23876861/…
heh, I exceeded the 20K. :p If there is really no life beyond that, I am now dead.

@LaszloPapp yeah, it is broad...

8:33 PM
why cannot I cast a delete vote on an answer after reaching 20K+? Is it because I reviewed 20 low-quality stuff today or something else?
I wanna be able to destroy more nao!

I'm not sure I like the idea of @LaszloPapp having all those privileges.... ;-)

@LaszloPapp is -1?

I'm more than happy that you are not active in c#. You would delete all my answers.

Can I haz 10k plz?

@rene: I will keep on eye on that tag.
@Braiam: -4

8:37 PM
@LaszloPapp refresh :P

@LaszloPapp Nooooooo... /me looking for a new life in the
@hichris123 done...

@Braiam: does not help... "Vote to delete this post? (0 votes remaining)"

@LaszloPapp meh, you used all your votes

impossible, I just exceeded another 1K.
so I should get one more, but yes, other than that I used it all.
at 19K, when I reached it, I got one more instantly in a similar situation.

@rene heh.

8:42 PM
@hichris123 do you have the import statement for the xml files from the datadump into mysql?
I'm extracting the files now...

@rene You mean the table schema? Yes.
Which, posts or comments?

Posts please

... I'll give it to you if my computer stops freezing. :P

Buy more memory...

are you also sync'ing it regularly?

yes, but I do not understand it.

I'm still importing comments....

night @rene.

good night.

Now to put a FullText index on the table...
"altering table" how nice.

@Shog9 exactly how this got implemented? specifically point 1, we shouldn't get any more positive feedback, right? or that was left out of the plan?
