I think that as long as there exists enough odds to actually not shorten your life considerably, it is no much different than simply moving to one of those countries in war, just because it is dangerous doesn-t mean it is suicidal, going to place X to Y even without intentions of returning to X shouldnt be illegal, if I happen to have the technology to go live on the center of the earth or outside of it, why should this be any different than moving to another country?

but I dont know if the mission shortens your life, so I will go read about that in a second... it sounds interesting
