without manually going through all his questions..
can you help me find that Q im sure I have seen it before

Data-Explorer :/
or: go through your answers.

12:51 PM
I think that the close votes queue would get knocked down more quickly if Bill the Lizard would just do more reviews.

I mean, jeez - he's only got 64 so far today.

Slacker
Got to love reviewing though: "Please help me it is making lot of disturbance" ... I so want to comment on that...

1:23 PM
My Uni is so thoughtful
Apparently America isn't only the country of social mobility, but also racial

{ Michael Jackson joke }

Is that like a FB status thing @probablyPekka? "Feeling rather Caucasian today".

@jadarnel27 lol, I thought the same thing :)
@Bart hahaha

@probablyPekka Great minds think alike!

"Great"....

1:31 PM
Hmmm...
Like minds think alike?

That is probably the best way to put it
Weird minds think alike

Hahaha
The SE app is more crash-y than usual after the last update.
I think it might be related to doing too many taps in close succession.
Oh, actually it seems to happen right after I tap "show more comments."

@Bart What is this I don't even...
Oh, the patch notes on the latest patch say that "load more comments" thing is fixed. Nice.
It is not fixed, though.

It's fixed for everyone but you. It's like an early wedding present, like this early congratulations I'm now giving you.

1:46 PM
sniff sniff Thanks, @Tim. This is the happiest day of my life. My very own bug!
But seriously, thanks for the congrats =)

Just a few more days, exciting stuff!

Indeed! And we're done with all the planning stuff, so it's really just coasting to the finish line.
Well...I haven't gotten groomsmen gifts yet. But I'm fortunate that my groomsmen know me well enough that they would not be surprised.
Because procrastination.

Hahah
Somehow I anticipate that being a problem for me whenever that time rolls around too (which I suppose should be sooner than later >_> <_<)
After all, we kind of dropped the ball on sending out birth announcements...but luckily we will be getting a Christmas card photo.
Since we figured that might make up for it :P

Yep, I could definitely see the procrastination thing being a problem for you across the board when that time comes =)

"Nice Christmas card, thanks, but who is that random three-year-old?"

1:57 PM
LOL
I'm picturing a Christmas card with a picture of Tim's baby, and a caption underneath that just says "Sorry!"

2:29 PM
Where is the wedding going to be held?
I bet it's in some strange state that is not Pennsylvania.
I suppose you could come pick me up in your pickup.
That should be easy enough to do, like on the day of the wedding or something
(I'm going to continue our exciting roleplaying experience in Welbog's room soon btw... I just don't have the attention span for it right now)
Perhaps the Tavern should be present on the wedding via a live video stream and a widescreen TV showing our comments to the crowd
Although that would probably give the whole thing a weird vibe, as probably no one except jadarnel55 could appreciate the humour.

Could we vote to close the wedding?

Dude!
Not cool.

Hey, you can always come to Meta to see it reopened. But then please clearly state how it is unique. Because I think it might well be a duplicate.

But with what close reason?
Ohhh, duplicate I see

@probablyPekka "Why is this TV screen here? Who are all these people talking about unicorns?"

2:35 PM
We could vote to close it as.... wait for it..... too broad

Hey. Is that a fat joke?

No, a "broad" joke

"Do you take, as your lawfully ... " "Unclear what you're asking"

Although that probably illustrates why the Tavern shouldn't be present at the wedding :)
Ohh hold on, the correct term is "bride"
Sorry
("broad" and "bride" are the same word in German)

And there' goes @probablyPekka's chance of being invited.

2:36 PM
Hahahaha

Haha, @probablyPekka - I didn't think about the other meaning of "broad."

How about "primarily opinion-based"?

And yeah, he's off the list now. No driving to Pennsylvania for me.

"Why do you think you should marry her? That sounds like an XY problem. What exactly are you trying to achieve here?"

And the answer will probably be opinionated anyway.

2:39 PM
Yeah totally. No way there could be a benefit to future askers, as the situation is extremely localized.
@jadarnel27 oh no!

I'm just trying to rush this marriage thing through before she realizes how weird I am.

She does not know about the transcripts here, right @jadarnel27?

"What do you mean you use chatrooms? Like, those things from the 90's? I'm...not sure about this."

3:18 PM
hey, anybody here have any ideas why google went to the effort to release guava?
also, having never used "stackoverflow chat" before, i have no idea if i've actually chatted this to the right place etc etc

That's a Java thing, right? Perhaps a Java-related chat room might be more successful?

oh man, i see - each "exchange" has its own chat

Yep. And since Meta SO is its own separate site, we have our own entirely nonsensical rooms

ah, and hilariously work blocks the chat.stakoverflow, but for some reason not stack.meta... oh well, i'll post that later on tonight

Hey, if you want to discuss @jadarnel27's personal life, you're entirely welcome here.

Q: An anomaly while calculating percentage increase. How to proceed?

GayaI am using the following formula to find the % of increase, ( (final_amount - original_amount) / original_amount ) * 100 My original amount is zero and final amount is, say, 1000. I am getting a divide-by-zero error. and what happens if my final amount is also 0 ? How do I go about finding t...

bharel: you're not the only victim of a useless filter.
I can visit chat.meta.so but not chat.so
But I belive chat.so might be more useful for my work than chat.meta.so

4:17 PM
but yes, all the best for @jadarnel27

Oh the joy of some user copying other people's answers. stackoverflow.com/users/1673099/…
How many of his answers should I report? Did 4 now, but he has 154 answers, where a lot of them seems to be copied. It was certainly not hard to find the first 4 copied answers.

4:33 PM
Myeah, lot of copy pasta going on there @Sumurai8.

4:48 PM
@Sumurai8: If you can track down all plagiarized answers feel free to flag all of them.
That way we don't have to search for them ;)

5:12 PM
Where do I report sites that steals questions and answers from SO (that is, they mirror it without proper attribution). I know there is a question for it somewhere on meta, but I can't find it.

Q: Updated procedure for reporting SCRAPERs

PopsSince day one of Stack Overflow, all content posted on Stack Exchange sites by their users (i.e. you wonderful people) has been provided to the whole universe under the CC-BY-SA license. For my fellow non-lawyers, that license basically means: Anyone can use any Stack Exchange posts at any time...

@animuson thanks

So, I'm going to have a high school student shadowing me at work for one day in a coupe weeks; basic introduction to programming in general (he has no experience at all). But I have no clue what to do for that!
