The situation on Math.SE seems a bit alarming. (I just became aware of this after randomly browsing their site yesterday.)

Q: Change of moderators - I resign as well

Eric NaslundAs mentioned in Zev's post, an election will be coming up for Math Stack Exchange, so I will take the opportunity to resign as well. The answers on the main site can be fascinating and enlightening, and I have always enjoyed this aspect of Math Stack Exchange. Some very strong people post excel...

That must be challenging to handle.

Reading through those posts, it doesn't sound as simple as a large number of questions.

Anyone know what's going on there? I don't use the site enough to say, but it's still concerning...

Touché, casperOne. Perhaps I should retract all of my terrible name calling of you in that other chat room.

@KnightswhosayNi Short version:
They had one not-that-suitable mod, and a few months back he got into a mod war (revert war with mod powers) with another mod
This led to the temporary revocation of both of their diamonds, but he didn't take it too well and it escalated to permanent revocation for him.
Ever since then the situation has been unstable
Also, scientists and mathematicians don't like being constrained. This makes life as a science mod hard
So it's always been sorta unstable
The linked meta posts explain a lot of this

@Manishearth more important is to mention that there has been an unsteady history between the maths and SE

@jcolebrand That too

My search-fu is weak. Is there a more up-to-date / more comprehensive list of criteria for auto-deletion by Community (insert diamond here) than meta.stackoverflow.com/a/177675/177145 ?

@TinSoldiersAndNixonsComin' that is up to date
Migrated qs also get autodeleted
That's about it

Okay, then I think I have a bug report.

Q: Edit Title shortcut to appear on mouse hover

abatishchevCurrently on mouse hover near the Tags line appears a shortcut to edit them: I'd like to see the same to edit Title, e.g.: It will be much easier and faster to remove a tag from question title without need to wait the whole question body to load.

@Ty221 Please remain on the line. Your patience is very important to us. A moderator will answer your call in the order it was received.
Or possibly not at all. Is there something we can help you with?

8:38 PM
@balpha Hey, there seems to be something weird going on with the chat's sockets on FireFox. It fails to connect and falls back to polling

Hello there

@jadarnel27 it's remarkable how often that happens round these parts ;-)

Idk if it is the right place to ask but … is there something to do when we find a dead link? (And we can't fix)
Can we report it? Flag the message containing the dead link?

@JeromeJ It actually looks like the Stack Exchange team is about to roll out a system that tries to automatically detects dead links, and lets users review them (to fix or remove, as appropriate).

@JeromeJ There isn't any way for you to directly report a dead link. Flagging it would not be appropriate, because fixing dead links isn't a moderator responsibility. If you can find a replacement link, suggesting an edit would be great. If the post can do without the link, you might suggest an edit to remove it. If neither, I can't think of anything else you could do.

Quick questions: Was there a change regarding immediately deleting closed questions (for 10k+ or 20k+ users , dunno). Because I don't see delete link anymore, but I can see it on older questions. Any relevant meta questions I missed?

Yeah

Q: How does deleting work? What can cause a post to be deleted, and what does that actually mean?

jjnguyWhat circumstances can cause a question or answer to be deleted, and what does that actually mean? How can a post be deleted? When can't I delete my own post? Can I see a list of my deleted posts? How can I undelete one of my posts? What does deletion mean for a post? How do votes to delete wor...
