Best we've got is this. Let's review!

- User activation, which lead to tag adjustments that were very disliked and homepage research that went... not well.

- Iterating and scaling the SG, which lead to... Reviewer stats. And not much else just yet.

- Discovery on improving answering. Radio silence on this one.

- The community asks sprints which, while a great idea, don't last long enough for meaningful asks to be completed. In order for us to get just one more working week we had to sacrifice the Q4 one.

And that's a wrap for Q4.

Best thing in the bucket were the Community Asks sprints. Those are nice. I'm happy for them. I wish they were scaled to be longer, and I hope that 2025 means that will be the case.

Oh wait I'm sorry these were also Q3 goals.

Yes I've been watching. The longer these things go without being addressed the bigger the backlog gets. Whatever's consuming their time has been felt just about everywhere.

I get the feeling at least some of the staff are taking my feedback about the numbers/roles of CMs and other staff with the view of, me being after the job but to an extent I don't feel that the way things work now is working for the community

I mean, I literally have let them know I wanted one before the current data dump format went public. I let them know why, and have reasons compatible with their restrictions. I literally bought a hard disk for this :D

@AndreascondemnsIsrael I agree here. Discussing this point is a time waster. First, even if this was an internal experiment gone live because "error" it would still prove that the experiment is running and the shoe is simply going to fall later. Second, if this really was a "this shouldn't be live yet" scenario, I would expect the company to at least be able to delete the user by now... and yet it is still there.

Others may think what they prefer and choose to live in the status quo.... but the experiment is there and will come soon or later. Going ostrich won't change it and @AndreascondemnsIsrael is perfectly right.

What landed me here: on chem SE we've had an upset User who's complained about broken images in posts and uneven/unfair moderation: chemistry.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/5458/…. Handling of this has not been superior, and the complaints might have some basis (who does not chafe occasionally on SE). But the person is persistently aggressive and convoluted in their arguments and their behavior close to trolling or baiting.

The use of an external image hosting site is suspicious (?). Their contributions have been low quality to negative edits, questions and answers. Chem mods imposed restrictions on answers and suggested edits on the main account. Would appreciate a second opinion on handling this on a longer timeframe, since they are persistent and revisit the site daily. This has been raised with the CM team but no reply yet.

@BuckThorn well it's no emergency and still early in the start of week, so yeah won't expect CM response too soon. :/

@BuckThorn Looking at their profile, they seem to be at a reputation level where they need to 'suggest' those edits? You can ban users from suggesting edits specifically: meta.stackexchange.com/a/252991/369802. (I now read you may have done that already, sorry)

That might be a temporary solution to stop the edits. Also, if they keep being rude, there's always suspensions for rude/abusive behavior. No matter how frustrating it may be that they can't see some images (my work laptop blocks imgur links too, it's annoying) it's no reason to start being rude about it.

Easy way is suspend and forget, doesn't look like you'll miss something with any big potential of becoming constructive member of the community. But meh, really can't know all the details. I also see there's at least one post marked rude/abusive, or spam.

@Tinkeringbell Yeah, did this just to give ourselves a break. The dialogue was not constructive.

@ShadowWizard One mod regards them as rude, but we'd have to ban many of our regular users by that imprecise measure. Annoying is closer to the truth and that's a personal opinion. I don't understand what they are looking for at chem SE.
