@ElementsInSpace any updates for bots? ;)

@Petəíŕd The Spring Wizard I don’t know if I want to play against a bot that is better than me.

@ElementsInSpace okay, lol.

@Petəíŕd The Spring Wizard Not everything, no

@JourneymanGeek good for you

8:45 AM
I heard the chewing noises.

1 hour later…
10:13 AM
@JourneymanGeek Dude. Table manners.

Under the table manners?

Sure, those too. Dogs aren't supposed to be begging there :P

10:49 AM
who said anything about begging :D
I'm merely keeping the place clean

> In China and Taiwan, burping is the highest form of flattery—it means you like the food!

Ugh.
And then you have those people that can't really burp (like me) and they'll always be seen as impolite :P

@Tinkeringbell Meganblase syndrome?

That seems like the opposite problem :P
I do 'burp'. But it's just rarely a 'proper burp' with sound, just a ... puff of air with my mouth still closed?

1:56 PM
close enough :D

2:07 PM
@Tinkeringbell that is just called "being polite".

But is it really polite when burping is seen as liking your meal, and my burps are pretty much unnoticable?

@Tinkeringbell you can make a show of burping I guess
covering your mouth and all that

Fair enough...

2:25 PM
@Tinkeringbell can be fixed: coca cola, aka IBG: Instant Burp Generator. :-D

Doesn't really work on me, I drink that too slowly for that.
Especially when there's also rum or whisky in it :P

@Tinkeringbell sounds like hiccup, no burp. :D

Nah, you can feel the difference between a hiccup and these burps.

@Tinkeringbell so when in China, just drink it fast, and you'll be able to show how much you like their food. :P

Blegh XD
I know a better solution: Just avoid China!

2:28 PM
@Tinkeringbell many times I hiccup on purpose to make the kids laugh. Or just because I find it funny. :D

I hate hiccups. They hurt.

Can do it any time.

The first two or three are fine but after that...

@Tinkeringbell so you do it wrong. ;)
I guess? No idea how one should "properly" hiccup. :D

It's not like hiccups can be controlled, they're literally uncontrollable contractions of your mid-rif.

2:29 PM
@Tinkeringbell good point, so those I do on purpose are fake, but still - almost exactly the same. When it's not on purpose, it also never hurt. Yet?

Guess you're luckier than I am then.

I've never had them hurt before

Okay, then I'm weird.

Longest was few hours, think before marriage... nothing worked to stop it, so just went to sleep while hiccup still in action and woke up fine. :D
But usually it's only few minutes, drinking water ends it.

For me, I need to really focus hard on breathing in and out very slowly and keeping my breath a little bit in between (but not too much or it'll get worse) and it might pass ... but it can go on for an hour easily if I don't.
Also, ugh. I'm on my PC not the work laptop and my taskbar is showing nothing.
And the commands I found to 'fix' it take ages to run.
There was stuff I wanted to do on this thing instead of fixing the thing itself XD

2:40 PM
lol

@Tinkeringbell pointing on Restart button
(the physical button)
> When You Can't Fix It, Restart It.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Won't fix it this time I guess XD I know I corrupted something by shutting this thing down by just switching off power to it when it took ages to install an update.
It had been stuck for 2 hours at that time and I wanted to go to bed.
You know what always works though? :P Complaining. Then suddenly things go faster. I've got a task bar again! :D

@Tinkeringbell ah, that's bad indeed.
@Tinkeringbell :P

4 hours later…
6:43 PM
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda do you think Israel will retaliate against Iran?

1 hour later…
7:44 PM
@Marco yeah, but my worst fear that we'll attack blindly some towns was disproved, luckily. My best guess is we'll attack some secret nuclear base or research center, and this will "seal the deal". Until next time of course, that can take few days. Or weeks. lol

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda humm... well, for Iran, they are the ones who retaliated, because there was an incident at a consulate, so I believe that if Israel retaliates, it will turn into an "endless war".

@Marco depends very much on what we attack, IMO. If it would be towns, and/or civilians attacked then yes, that will likely lead to endless loop. But if it would be against secret base that shouldn't exist in the first place... good chance they'll just let it go.

well, I guess it doesn't matter what is attacked there, as they think they are the ones who retaliated, any new attack for them will be an additional attack.

@Marco perhaps, but they did "absorb" many attacks already, though not on their own land. (For years Israel attack their proxy bases or people in Syria.)

I understand, but now they also have a lot of blood in their eyes.
I don't know if this expression is universal, but I want to say that they are very bloodthirsty now.

7:58 PM
@Marco nah, I believe they think forward, much more than Israel, and don't let ego or anger affect the actions too much. In that aspect, I have to admit, they're better than our leaders.

after all, it appears they never directly attacked Israel.

@Marco lots of things in the last few months never happened before. Mostly bad. :/

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda How do they think about the future?
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda sure

@Marco yeah, I know what you mean, but don't think so - if that was the case, they would have reacted sooner.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda I don't think so, because they have to have some narrative (even if weak) to say why they attacked.

8:01 PM
@Marco by not breaking all the tables. They could launch 5000 missiles, not "just" 300, and on our big towns - causing thousands of casualties. They didn't, because that would have led to nuking their own towns.
Hence, put the future first, kind of.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda I don't know if they could send much more, but I believe it was just a test, after all they know that Israel has a good defense and the attack could come to nothing - which happened.

@Marco they could, read somewhere about it, will see if there's English version.

ok

Found something else, but pretty much what I said: express.co.uk/news/world/1888496/…

ok, thanks, but that doesn't matter much IMO.

8:11 PM
@Marco what you think will happen, e.g. couple of months from now?
What you want to happen?

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda If Israel retaliates, Iran will retaliate again, and this will become a cycle.
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda well, I'm on Israel's side of course, but I don't know if it would be a good idea to retaliate against Iran unless it has the support of all its main allies, for example USA, as this could lead to further escalation, e.g. Hezbollah appearing more clearly alongside Iran.

Well, not doing anything at all would be a clear sign they can just do it again, so not a good idea. Plus, the thing that determines the actions is "what would the people think about it in the near elections?" and vast majority of the people here want revenge i.e. some big retaliation attack, even if that's not smart.
And this also explains why Iran leaders might be "better" in this aspect: they don't have to worry what the citizens think about their actions, as it's not a democracy.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda hmm... when you say in about elections do you mean in relation to Netanyahu? I'm out of the loop, will there be new elections soon and will Netanyahu be a candidate? I don't understand Israel's presidential system, as Israel has a president and a prime minister (who is Netanyahu).
From what I know, Netanyahu is very unpopular in the country, is that right?
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda well, this kind of thinking about what the people think can be important, but in the case of Iran, I believe that every step they take in an attack they listen first to what Russia and/or China think, since they are their stronger allies, I consider this to be the most important factor, in the same way that Israel consults Israel and its main allies, mainly the USA, when carrying out a new attack, as they know that there is Russia and China in the war scenario.

@Marco totally. But he has the ultimate power as the prime minister. President is just honor title in Israel, he has zero actual power in our politics, it's like the royal family in England: he does get lots of respect, also worldwide, but there it ends.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda hmm, now I got it!
Do the elections there elect only the prime minister, or do they also elect the president?

8:26 PM
Currently elections are due to be in couple of years, but there's a good chance it will be next January instead, which is pretty close.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda I don't understand, why would it be in a few years but now it could be next January. Don't have a specific date?

@Marco neither. We cast vote for political party, not directly to a person. And the president is elected by the politicians themselves, i.e. by the 120 people in our Knesset:
The Knesset (Hebrew: הַכְּנֶסֶת, romanized: HaKnesset [haˈkneset] lit. 'gathering, assembly', Arabic: الْكِنِيسِت, romanized: al-Kinisit) is the unicameral legislature of Israel. The Knesset passes all laws, elects the president and prime minister (although the former is ceremonially appointed by the Prime Minister), approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government, among other things. In addition, the Knesset elects the state comptroller. It also has the power to waive the immunity of its members, remove the president and the state comptroller from office, dissolve the government...
Many times the president is politician who can't advance any further, so take the title as compromise.
Probably Peres was the best example for that - but it doesn't mean it's bad.
@Marco it has a date, the elections should be every four years, but when the government isn't stable, it can vote for its own ending, causing elections.
We had five elections in two years, or something like that.
Government need at least 61 seats in the Knesset - that's the minimal amount of votes needed to pass ordinary rules.
The current one has 65, and consists of several different parties, which sometimes argue between themselves - that's the "being unstable" I mentioned.
Ah, important detail I forgot to explain, the prime minister is the one who is responsible for forming the government, they don't even have to lead the biggest party. e.g. Bennet had party of 6 people only, and was prime minister.
I think 6, or maybe 9? Let me see... (doesn't matter, still surely not the biggest party at all.)
ah, 7. lol
> In the 2021 Knesset election, Yamina under Bennett's leadership won 7 seats. On 2 June 2021, Bennett agreed to a rotation government with Yair Lapid, whereby Bennett would serve as Israel's prime minister until 2023, after which Lapid would assume the role until 2025. Bennett was sworn in on 13 June 2021.
I wonder... what would have happened if things would have gone as planned. ^

ok, nice, thanks for the explanations!

You're welcome!

Even so-called right-wing people in Israel don't like Netanyahu?

8:41 PM
@Marco correct. 50% of the people despise him, that's what make things so difficult.

well, I imagine that the majority of Israel's population is right-wing.

But still, I'd say 10% of the people admire him, and the rest, like me, are pretty much neutral.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda So half like him and the other half don't like him.
You consider yourself right-wing, right? In fact, there are a lot of so-called left-wing people in Israel, I don't know, 30%?

@Marco yeah, and the 50% that don't like him can't unite. The best chance was in 2021, see above quote, and it also fell.

right

8:45 PM
@Marco yeah, basically I'd say it's 60/40 rate.
But that's another issue, as Netanyahu and his followers try to mark anyone who don't support them as left winged, causing the rift to get bigger.
Anyway.. it's a big chaos.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda right, and you're right-wing, correct?

So in a nutshell, my opinions are mostly right winged, but since I don't vote for Netanyahu and don't directly support him, I'm left winged.
This doesn't sound right, but that's more or less how things work/look here.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda hmmm, interesting

yeah
Did you hear that?
Dishes calling me, to wash them. :D

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda Well, it's chaos in Brazil too, but in another sense, do you know a little?

8:50 PM
aka... gtg, cya later! :)
@Marco yeah, little bit indeed, and your current leader doesn't like Israel, at all. :/
(or at least, its actions.)

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda you just gave an example, right? Are you right-wing or left-wing? Remembering that the fact that you don't support Netanyahu doesn't mean you're not right-wing.
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda right

@Marco right-wing, in the sense I don't think peace is realistic option.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda ohh
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda haha
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda ok, cya later!
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda hmmm, ok!!
but I asked if you are right-wing in general, not only about war
@ShadowWizardLoveZelda exactly!! Later we can talk about Brazil haha
