For me, I need to really focus hard on breathing in and out very slowly and keeping my breath a little bit in between (but not too much or it'll get worse) and it might pass ... but it can go on for an hour easily if I don't.

Also, ugh. I'm on my PC not the work laptop and my taskbar is showing nothing.

And the commands I found to 'fix' it take ages to run.

There was stuff I wanted to do on this thing instead of fixing the thing itself XD

It had been stuck for 2 hours at that time and I wanted to go to bed.

You know what always works though? :P Complaining. Then suddenly things go faster. I've got a task bar again! :D

@Marco yeah, but my worst fear that we'll attack blindly some towns was disproved, luckily. My best guess is we'll attack some secret nuclear base or research center, and this will "seal the deal". Until next time of course, that can take few days. Or weeks. lol

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda humm... well, for Iran, they are the ones who retaliated, because there was an incident at a consulate, so I believe that if Israel retaliates, it will turn into an "endless war".

@Marco depends very much on what we attack, IMO. If it would be towns, and/or civilians attacked then yes, that will likely lead to endless loop. But if it would be against secret base that shouldn't exist in the first place... good chance they'll just let it go.

@Marco perhaps, but they did "absorb" many attacks already, though not on their own land. (For years Israel attack their proxy bases or people in Syria.)

@Marco by not breaking all the tables. They could launch 5000 missiles, not "just" 300, and on our big towns - causing thousands of casualties. They didn't, because that would have led to nuking their own towns.

Hence, put the future first, kind of.

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda well, I'm on Israel's side of course, but I don't know if it would be a good idea to retaliate against Iran unless it has the support of all its main allies, for example USA, as this could lead to further escalation, e.g. Hezbollah appearing more clearly alongside Iran.

Well, not doing anything at all would be a clear sign they can just do it again, so not a good idea. Plus, the thing that determines the actions is "what would the people think about it in the near elections?" and vast majority of the people here want revenge i.e. some big retaliation attack, even if that's not smart.

And this also explains why Iran leaders might be "better" in this aspect: they don't have to worry what the citizens think about their actions, as it's not a democracy.

I don't understand Israel's presidential system, as Israel has a president and a prime minister (who is Netanyahu).

From what I know, Netanyahu is very unpopular in the country, is that right?

@ShadowWizardLoveZelda well, this kind of thinking about what the people think can be important, but in the case of Iran, I believe that every step they take in an attack they listen first to what Russia and/or China think, since they are their stronger allies, I consider this to be the most important factor, in the same way that Israel consults Israel and its main allies, mainly the USA, when carrying out a new attack, as they know that there is Russia and China in the war scenario.

@Marco totally. But he has the ultimate power as the prime minister. President is just honor title in Israel, he has zero actual power in our politics, it's like the royal family in England: he does get lots of respect, also worldwide, but there it ends.

Currently elections are due to be in couple of years, but there's a good chance it will be next January instead, which is pretty close.

@Marco neither. We cast vote for political party, not directly to a person. And the president is elected by the politicians themselves, i.e. by the 120 people in our Knesset:

The Knesset passes all laws, elects the president and prime minister (although the former is ceremonially appointed by the Prime Minister), approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government, among other things. In addition, the Knesset elects the state comptroller. It also has the power to waive the immunity of its members, remove the president and the state comptroller from office, dissolve the government...

Many times the president is politician who can't advance any further, so take the title as compromise.

Probably Peres was the best example for that - but it doesn't mean it's bad.

@Marco it has a date, the elections should be every four years, but when the government isn't stable, it can vote for its own ending, causing elections.

We had five elections in two years, or something like that.

Government need at least 61 seats in the Knesset - that's the minimal amount of votes needed to pass ordinary rules.

The current one has 65, and consists of several different parties, which sometimes argue between themselves - that's the "being unstable" I mentioned.

Ah, important detail I forgot to explain, the prime minister is the one who is responsible for forming the government, they don't even have to lead the biggest party. e.g. Bennet had party of 6 people only, and was prime minister.

I think 6, or maybe 9? Let me see... (doesn't matter, still surely not the biggest party at all.)
