@Tinkeringbell who are those?
@Philippe wow, you're very brave. Only few venture that far and survive the attack of friendly messages and stars. :D

How to search for badges?

@Wolgwang meaning?
Search for a badge you forgot its name?
Search which users have specific badge?
Something else?

Feeds prevent a room from freezing?

I don't think so
feeds are not a 'real' user

Can I ask a mod to make me RO if the RO has not visited the site for a very long time?

No. There's already a system that helps with appointing new room owners if the old ones are inactive, there's no need to bother a moderator then.

ALL HAIL THE ALGORITHM!

11:02 AM
Ohk Thanks :-)

@Tinkeringbell It's been a while since someone mentioned a feature I was totally unaware of :O is that documented somewhere?
I found this, which is, uh, vague

@RyanM the duplicate link has an answer by an ex-SE developer

@MetaAndrewT. ...I'll just be over here in the corner of shame for failing to read the second part of that answer...

I wonder if it counts moderators as ROs...

I need a Coca-Cola Coffee intervention.

@RyanM I kind of doubt it, since mods can also be appointed as RO at the same time, and thus, they will retain the RO power if they step down as mods...
I need Cola...

12:40 PM
@GWarner really cats

@GWarner I half suspect cause its http links but I didn't know they were blocked before

1:01 PM
@GWarner That always bugs me, that HR and recruiters want different things on a resume than I'd want on a resume if I was recruiting a colleague.
@Wolgwang Is there a particular reason you'd want to? If you're a regular visitor in a room, other regular visitors are still in that room, people agree you should be the new RO and all existing RO would've left... That would be a case in which I could consider granting someone the role of RO. I don't think that happens much.
And even then it would first be a matter for the site-mods under which the chat room falls, IMO.

1:36 PM
@Mast I think on one of the rooms I ROed on, it was automatic as the most active user, and the other was here

user728672
@Wolf What's wrong with cats?

user728672
@JourneymanGeek I was at least expecting it to be thumbnailed.

@GWarner I wonder if its their solution to mixed content warning

user728672
@Mast Yeah I hate HR that way.

@GWarner I've literally never managed to get a job without bypassing HR
Outside contracting (where the main concern was breathing and having something similar to 2 working braincells) I usually got jobs in wierd ways

I found that graphic trying to see what the method was for resizing images.

user728672
dealing with HR has always been irritating.

user728672
Been my own HR for 15+ years

(family business, direct recruitment by boss, job fair, knowing someone who knows someone, "We have an opening!" cold call, conversion from contractor in my case) :D

user728672
Hobby that became a nightmare of a job (living at friends (home business),just a bunch of 'frat guys' then CS and "HR" guy for same home business (more like "hey you can do this, il show you how, and ill buy beer this weeknd")

user728672
then i got CDL and DOT certification. Started driving limos and taxis, and doing courier work. Loved being my own boss.

Q: Soon-to-be-ex-employer trying to force me to disclose name of new employer

OrnsteinI recently tendered my resignation at my current company (senior engineer; get along well with the teams, but my boss's boss promised big bonuses and raises they never delivered even when my team delivered on-schedule and under-budget). I was offered several counter-offers, but declined since I d...

Gee this is a familiar scenario..

@Wolf Yes, cats, I'm a foster-daddy. I currently have 5

Where can I find chat stack exchange code of conduct? >﹏<

There's an FAQ, this bit might be relevant? chat.meta.stackexchange.com/faq#nice

Thanks :-)

@Wolgwang The Code of Conduct - Meta Stack Exchange applies to chat as well as the rest of the network.

@Rob I'm looking at an edit you made when rejecting mine and I really don't understand. You made the same tag edits as me except for adding two low-use and no-excerpt tags. And you didn't do my edit to the title. Is there a reason my title edit was bad? That's the only possible reason I see to Reject instead of Improve.
I've seen that our tagging philosophies are different; the other tag edits I made that you Rejected and Edited, I strongly disagree with the tags your chose. I would like to understand the reasons behind the tagging choices.
To be honest it's discouraging me away from tag edits since it seems that whenever they go through you they get rejected, and I can't understand why. I've asked before here for a different edit, and I'm asking again. Please help me understand your ideas here, because I don't currently see how your edits are good and mine are bad, to warrent Reject and Edit.
Related, this was part of me trying to tag-edit a few more [merging] posts, and that went wrong. I linked the meta post as I was told, and these two other edits still got rejected.
I'm trying to help clean up the tags here in good faith, but I guess I should leave the actual edits to other people? I don't know, I want to help get rid of the bad tags but given that all three edits in my latest batch got rejected I guess that's not a thing I should do here
I might even be edit banned now, hmm. Not going to test it. If so, it would be my first ban not for trying to edit in tables/image descriptions anonymously :)

Each is free to review as they feel is best, MSE has hidden Review Audits (it doesn't say it was an Audit) and now one or more of us may be subject to that. I'll offer bobble no more Feedback.
When you have a low reputation we are glad to help people new to the site, and I always try to, but you have over 1K you are 2x past the mark.
I'm not the only reviewer who rejected your recent edits.

@Tinkeringbell yeah read about the disaster later, sorry to hear... hope everyone you know (friends, family) are safe.

7:40 PM
I must say that I'm genuinely impressed by @Philippe. Reading through the Meta.SE posts, and the fact that he's taken the time to seriously go through all the links, pop into chat, look through Charcoal... I have a level of optimism I haven't had in a very long time.

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Yeah, me and all my many friends are far away from there XD

@Rob I'm still new, but I don't see why newness, or the lack of it, is a reason to not explain your reasoning when asked. Are experienced users not allowed to discuss moderation with each other? I ask for input on the sites where I have Yearlings.
@Rob and I'd be fine with any rejector to just tell me why. "No improvement" - well, obviously I think it's an improvement, I'm trying to get rid of a tag that a +12 meta post says is so broad as to be useless. I linked to said meta post.
Could someone just explain their reasoning, for goodness's sake? I'm trying to be helpful, I'm trying to clean up tags, last time when I asked for rejection reasons I was told to link the meta post in my edit reason. I did that and I'm still getting inscrutable rejections.
If I argue against the reasoning you give, that's not me saying "feedback is bad", that's me trying to explain myself. I say "why was this rejected", someone responds "reasons X, Y, Z", I say "Well I think those reasons are invalid because A, B, C" - I'm not saying the business is feedback is invalid
Of course you're free to review as you see fit. I'm also free to ask for what reasoning you were using
I'd be fine with anyone here just giving me their ideas or input on this. I'm frustrated at getting rejected with reasons that I don't agree with and that don't make sense to me, and I'm frustrated that the second time I asked, genuinely asked, why - I got brushed off with "Each is free to review as they feel is best" and apparently I'm too experienced to get help when I ask.

I used to pop off the Caps Lock key so I wouldn't hit it anymore, but I found something better

I think I just popped off the Cola...

9:58 PM
@Rob Not trying to butt into a conversation, but could you explain why you rejected and edited instead of accepting/improving bobble's edit? I'm trying to learn more about how Meta works

10:15 PM
That works too. don't tell my therapist I have a new addiction.. Coffee Coca-Cola.

That sounds pretty great - counteract the bitterness of coffee with the sweetness of Coca Cola, and get an extra boost of energy! Definitely couldn't hurt you in any way

user728672
yea. its expensive though, so only a four pack every month or so

11:56 PM
@GWarner they aren’t dogs ;) I’m probably biased though.
