I know I'm late to the sandwich conversation but I'm just going to chime in in favor of any sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread, which automatically makes sandwiches better. (Sourdough is a close second).
Sadly it is rare outside the SF Bay area.

12:21 AM
happy hour!
(now time to sleep zzz)

12:40 AM
@Catija That's hilarious :D

@RyanM I used to have Schlotzsky's pretty frequently in Austin. Would make a point to get a sandwich from them every time I flew out of the Austin airport, and if I was driving in specific areas. Sadly they closed all the San Diego locations, as well as the Austin airport location
My mom would also ask me to get one if I was flying home from there

2:26 AM
Heh, I have a few places I always go when I visit my parents

@Catija I heard them mention the name of the question asker, but not the name of the person who provided the answer that they quoted; without attribution.
-41:30 is where it starts.

7:05 AM
@Catija nice, thanks for sharing! I'll have a look listen :)

7:29 AM
@RyanM so that is how you call tijgerbrood TIL.

7:57 AM
@rene Is it a well-known thing in the Netherlands?

8:14 AM
@RyanM yes, I personally don't like it, so I only buy it when other options are exhausted. It is widely available.

@user400654 how's the fever?
@RyanM which? ;)

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard My favorite is a family-run Chinese place a few blocks away...still probably my favorite Chinese place, partly because the food is great but there's definitely the fact that I grew up with it. As of last time I was there (just before COVID) they still recognize me when I come in despite only coming in once a year or so for a while. Also Qdoba (none around here), a pizza/sub place, and Wawa (east coast only).

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard Are you aware of the recent crowd crush in Israel?
Everything OK in your area?

@RyanM that's awesome. Reminds me in some odd way of the restaurant in Hourse of Cards, where Frank used to visit whenever he could. :)
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog heh, sure, doubt there's even one in Israel who isn't... it's the most terrible disaster we had in long time. :/
That's why I asked Mith yesterday:
19 hours ago, by Shadow The Vaccinated Wizard
@Mith hope everyone you know are fine?
Mithical is both religious, and live in the North to begin with, so was afraid something might have happened to them or people they know.
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog yes, thanks.
I do wonder, how you analyze this from your perspective? @Sonic
Would like to hear from totally neutral point of view.
People here blame the PM, the Police chief (even though none were even close to being there or related to the event), etc.

8:47 AM
Haven't gotten time to analyze it yet.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog oh, OK. Thanks for taking interest anyway, not trivial at all. :)
BTW, @Ryan personally when going to visit family no places I can go nearby, as they all live in villages, not in towns, lol. And when going to visit it's usually for lunch or event with lots of food anyway, so not relevant. :D

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard Yaakov isn't anywhere near there right?

@JourneymanGeek hmm... didn't think about it. He doesn't live nearby, but he is religious. So chance he was there.

@ShadowTheVaccinatedWizard hopefully not

That place is very holy for religious Jewish people.

9:30 AM
I got stabbed :D

user912062
hmm

@Tinkeringbell Will you be getting a .... sequel injection?

Yes. 5 weeks from now.

9:51 AM
@JourneymanGeek lol, loved the term

@BabaYaga Stole that one :D

wouldn't have known that if u didn't tell me
You are a good man:xD

I'd credit but I don't remember where I saw it
(also, I vaguely remember Tink was getting AZ or J&J so... )

it was staged but still pretty cool

10:10 AM
@JourneymanGeek That was the original vaccination strategy. I've managed to arrange to get vaccinated as 'morbidly obese' instead of as '<50 years old'. Which means I got the comirnaty one.

ah hah!
The good stuff

Yeah. Worth the effort of arranging it, I hope :P
AZ isn't given to anyone under 40? or was it 60? here.

Not anymore. And the J&J is mostly used so far for health care workers, to speed up their vaccinations.

we're doing mostly the biontec one, same as you

10:12 AM
(Some groups of health care workers would've gotten AZ otherwise)

Moderna is optional, but I was very early since I worked in a high risk place

Yeah. I had to jump through a few hoops, call the doctor, call the 'GGD's (municipal healthcare) call center (not actually staffed with health care people), call the doctor, get the wrong letter, call the doctor again, call the GGD again, get the right letter the next day.... It still feels like I've cut in line XD

lol
I just... turned up to a disused airport terminal
Which sadly is less disreputable than it sounds

10:56 AM
@Tinkeringbell Hmmph. It's 12 weeks in the UK for stab #2
@JourneymanGeek Why? I though you were between contracts?

@DavidPostill Oh this is while I was on contract and they'd used the place as one of the designated vaccination sites :D
We shut down 2 of 4 terminals, we're renovating one, the other's mothballed for now

11:28 AM
@DavidPostill It's 12 weeks here too, for the AZ one at least. I'm getting mine June 5th, but mom had a first dose of AZ just before they stopped, and she won't be getting a second until late June either.

@Tinkeringbell That seems like the Pfizer vaccine. You'll be fine the day you get it, but the day after, be prepared to feel very down.

6:49 PM
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I've heard that's mostly after the second dose. This is my first so I'm hoping to be fine. If not though, I don't have any duties tomorrow so it's not too bad.

@Tinkeringbell Oh, I suffered quite a bit the day after my first dose.

How long does it take for posts to enter the review queues (specifically FP, LQ and LA)? I can't find any post on meta that details it, but it seems to be any time between almost instant and around an hour?

8:05 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing There was a meta post lately about it seemingly being slower... Let me check

@cairdcoinheringaahing last time it was around 5-15 minutes, but recently it's becoming longer

Q: Change in the way the first posts review queue works?

José Carlos SantosWas there a recent change in the way the first posts review queue works? I ask this because am I used the get reviews from that queue within the first five minutes after the question (or the answer) having been posted. But, since yesterday, it seems that a post appears at the queue only about an ...

Ugh. I upvoted an answer on Unix.SE and 5 minutes later realized the answer was completely wrong, and now I can't remove my upvote. :(

@forestdistrustsStackExchange See if there's something in it that could use some genuine revision, and perform the edit, then change your vote.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I thought about that, but sadly the post is so simple that all I could do is add a comma or something, which isn't even enough to suggest an edit for.

A: Turn off buffering in pipe

Wang HongQinYou can use long_running_command 1>&2 |& print_progress The problem is that libc will line-buffer when stdout to screen, and full-buffer when stdout to a file. But no-buffer for stderr. I don't think it's the problem with pipe buffer, it's all about libc's buffer policy.

See how simple it is? And yet completely incorrect. :/
I guess I should change "full-buffer" to "block buffer", which is the correct term.
There. Let's see if it gets approved.
